bullet 12. Church Headquarters Addresses in the Lexicons

Inasmuch as each of the words in the Old and New Testament Lexicons are numbered according to their alphabetical sequence,(48) I have found that comparing these numbers to the numbers that relate to a person (or institution in this case), such as an address and phone number, can produce some amazing results. My observation has been that the key players in the Lord's plan have significant correlations when this method is applied.

The day after I made the "hin" discovery (3/3/97), my God-given "curiosity" (for which I accept full responsibility, but acknowledge God's hand)(49) prompted me to look up in Hebrew the number of the address of the LDS Church headquarters, where the general authorities reside: 47 E. South Temple St., Salt Lake City, Utah, 84150. Just now, in writing this up, I looked up the last four digits of the zip code, and found a major hit there too.

12a. "47" in the OT Hebrew Lexicon

Word # 47 in Hebrew,(50) and the words before and after, are as follows:

46 strong one, mighty one, only found in the phrase, "the mighty one of Israel, of Jacob;" used of God.

47 (51) (1) strong, mighty, used of men. (2) powerful, noble. (3) obstinate, stubborn, a man of perverse mind, Isa. 46:12.

48 "father of loftiness."

The first thing that jumps out is the buzz phrase, "mighty and strong." Virtually any Mormon, well seasoned in the culture, will immediately think of the prophecy about the Lord sending "One mighty and strong to set in order the house of God." This notorious(52) revelation from Doctrine and Covenants 85:7,8 is probably the most applicable prophecy to the topic at hand of all the scriptures brought forth by Joseph Smith. It prophecies of the drastic, divinely administered removal "by the shaft of death, like as a tree that is smitten by the vivid shaft of lightning" of the "man [of sin] who was called of God and appointed," who "putteth forth his hand to steady the ark of God."

The One Mighty and Strong, on the other hand, is described as "holding the scepter of power in his hand, clothed with light for a covering, whose mouth shall utter words, eternal words; while his bowels shall be a fountain of truth."

Appropriately, words 46 and 47 have nearly the identical definition superficially ("mighty and strong"), while having a very profound distinction. Word 46 is "used of God." While word 47 is "used of men."

A more suitable juxtaposition could not be imagined. This captures the essence of this whole treatise. To follow these men is precisely that: following men. It is God on whom we must have our eye. So long as men lead us to God, they are servants of God. But when they become the final say in our lives, they are anti-Christ. Even though the name of God may frequent their lips, their hearts are perilously far from Him if they require ultimate obedience to themselves.

12b. "47" in the NT Greek Lexicon

Word # 47 in Greek(53), and the words before and after, bring up an equally famous, Biblical prophecy, which uses the same imagery as that of D&C 85. As with the Hebrew example above, this set of words is also juxtaposed with God's true and ideal order of things, emphasizing that which is most important, namely establishing our foundation on Jesus Christ alone through the mighty change of heart. This is the new wine.

The paradox is that while on the surface these word definitions capture the ideal picture that Mormons paint of themselves, on a deeper level they condemn the current idolatry of placing man above God -- the ultimate expression of which will be the arising of the anti-Christ from, and by, the very ranks of those who claim to be the one true church of God on earth.

45 agkura: ...An anchor. Metaphorically applied to the hope generated by faith in the gospel, enabling the believer to stand firm and immovable in the face of temptations, calamities and storms.

46 agnaphose: ...New, occurs only in Matt. 9:16 and Mark 2:21 where it refers to an unsewn piece of cloth. Related word: gnapheus (1102), fuller.

47 hagneia(54): Purity. Syn.: (2514), the state of remaining clean; (2512), the act or process of cleansing, corresponding to (49), ceremonial purification. Ant.: (3393), defilement occasioned by one's contact with the world.

48 hagnizo: To make clean, purify.

49 hagnismos: Act of consecration, purification of the Levites

50 agnoeo: Not to recognize or know. (I) To be ignorant of; (II) To err, to commit a fault or faults arising from the want of discernment, or insight, denoting conduct of which the result and importance is unperceived by the agent. Ant. to consider; to learn thoroughly; to accept the knowledge of revelation; to inquire; to make known.

This particular set of words at first appears to contradict the theme, exonerating 47 E. South Temple Street as being pure. I truly wish it were so, for that is what we latter-day husbandmen have been commissioned to be.

A phenomenon I see repeated in using these various approaches is that for each word there is usually an equal and opposite meaning. Sometimes these are given within the definition of the same word. Often, the opposite meaning is given in the neighboring word. One of the reasons I find Zodhiates' New Testament word study guide so valuable is that he gives an exhaustive listing of derivatives, synonyms and antonyms for many of the words.

Because of this phenomenon, sometimes in looking up an application such as we are doing here by looking at word #47, the riddle requires one to take the opposite meaning. This may seem arbitrary and open to any combination of extravagant interpretations. I have found, however, that the second or third witnesses have a way of isolating the meaning very clearly.

Even standing alone, this current evidence (looking at the words around Greek word #47), upon honest inquiry, yields a clear and sober confirmation of the theme -- though also portraying yet once more the joyful antidote of establishing the Lord, Jesus Christ, as our one true anchor.

Reading the primary definition of word # 47, "purity," is qualified by the antonym: "defilement occasioned by one's contact with the world." Any glib feeling from the positive definition is replaced by the question posed by the antonym. Has the proverbial salt, headquartered in Salt Lake City, lost its savor? Has there been a succumbing to the courtship with the world?

Oh, that the answer to that question were, "Not one whit," for then we would have Zion. But we don't have Zion.

Yet Zion will come, and many of her most stalwart adherents will have come from the ranks of the foreordained-to-fail Mormon stewardship attempt over the church of Christ. When purified, her folly will bolster the dedication to Christ of those previously entangled around a man whom the people demanded in stead of God.

Here is Malachi's answer to the question about whether the salt has lost its savor -- if we allow it to be applied to ourselves and not abdicate our repentance by thinking it applies only to those wicked Israelites of old. This scripture is especially beloved in the LDS world because of its mention of tithing.

Tithing. One of the premier hallmarks of Mormonism.

Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. For I am the LORD, I change not [anchor].

And the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. (Mal. 3:7,6a,1-3,6b.)

The offering that is most important is the broken heart and contrite spirit, which brings the most important ordinance of the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, administered by the Lord himself(55) through the veil, as he comes to his temple; for each of us is a temple of God,(56) and each of us must have removed from us the anti-Christ of our own carnal mind and desires that set themselves up saying, "I am god."(57) These must be replaced by the gift of the new heart, that trusts only in the Almighty God, keeping an eye single to the glory of God and establishing His righteousness, not one's own.(58)

The defiled moneys of the most wealthy, yet unrepentant, kings is wrought with folly and control. But the free-will consecration of all things to God's glory from the changed heart of an entire people will be Zion. Hence, the true tithing is not about money, but about an offering of the heart to God. The true temples that we build with our true tithes are the temples of our own lives, making them fit abodes for God, as he dwells with and through each one of us.

The words surrounding the word for "tithing" in Hebrew(59) shed yet further light on this subject, confirming and expanding these sentiments.

4639 (1) that which anyone makes or does; Gen. 47:3, "what is your business?" (2) a deed, and action. (3) work, which any one produces. (4) what is produced by labour, property, goods [i.e. our all].

4640 "work of Jehovah" [his righteousness, not ours].

4641 "work of Jehovah" [ditto].

4643 tithes

4642 oppressions, forcible exactions [opposite of true tithes].

4644 Memphis, a city of Egypt; the ruins of which...are found on the western bank of the Nile.

4645 violence, blow. [Who may abide?]

4646 "breathing out of the soul" [calling upon God in sackcloth].

4647 the bellows of a blacksmith. [Fullers soap]

4648 "exterminating the idol"

4649; 8206 "serpents" [link "venom," #2447Gr(60) (third word after "Hinck.." insertion)]

4650 (to break in pieces), a hammer.

4651 what falls off, husk [chaff].

4652 miracles. [D&C 35:7-15.]

4653 a division. [2 Ne. 30:10.]

4654 fallen buildings, ruins. [1 Ne. 22:16-18.]

4655 escape.

4656 an idol, so called from its being an object of fear.

4657 (to weigh, to balance) balancing.

4658 (1) fall, ruin of a man; of a kingdom. (2) what falls down. (3) a corpse, like cadaver [carrion].

4659 a work (of God). ["shall work a work" 3 Ne. 21:9.]

4158, p.470 "beauty" [meaning of 2445Gr, Joppa, after "Hinck.."].

4660 a bruising, or breaking in pieces ["trodden under feet" 3 Ne. 21:12].

4661 a hammer.(61)

4662-3 (1) numbering (of people); (2) a commandment, mandate; (3) an appointed place. [Alma 5:57,60.](62)

4664 a port. [See word # 4152Heb. (port) below.]

4665 the neck.(63)

4666 spreading out, expansion.(64)

The story line continues (as seems to be the case just about anywhere you look in the dictionary or lexicon). However, that ought to be enough to illustrate the point for now.

12c. "[8]4150" in the OT Hebrew Lexicon

A more abbreviated version of the following is available here.

Now that we have amply probed the number 47, let's take a look now at the last four digits of the headquarters' zip code: [8]4150.  The following are the word definitions before and after word 4150 in Gesenius' Old Testament lexicon.

4144,4146 (1) a founding, the act of laying a foundation. (2) foundations, e.g. of a building, of the earth, of heaven. Hence buildings whose foundations alone remain, ruins.

4143 Isa. 28:16, "a founded foundation," i.e. firm [cornerstone].

4145 (1) foundation. (2) an appointment (of God), a decree. Isa. 30:32, "the rod sent by God."

4329 a (covered) portico. [State capitol.]

4147 bonds; specially used of the bonds of a yoke.

4149 pr.n. (Mosera), of a station of the Israelites [Mormons] in the desert [Utah].

4148 (1) correction of children by their parents, of nations by kings, of men by God. (2) admonition, discipline. (3) instruction, doctrine.

>>4150 (65) (1) a set time. (a) of a point of time. Hab. 2:3, "the vision belongs to a time."(66) (b) of space of time, as appointed, defined; specially in prophetic style of a year. [semi/annual general conference.] (2) an assembly. In Isa. 14:13, in the speech of the king of Babylon, there is mentioned "the mount of the assembly" (of Gods), which is probably the mountain...which the Orientals regarded as situated in the Northern regions of the earth, and as being like the Olympus of the Greeks, "the seat of the gods." "The tent of the assembly," is a name often given to the holy tabernacle of the Israelites, elsewhere called the tabernacle of the covenant; and often besides; either because there God met with Moses, or from the assemblies of the people which were held before this tent. (3) a place in which an assembly is held, of the temple. I scarcely doubt that the holy places besides Jerusalem(67) are to be understood, such as Ramah..., etc. celebrated as being high places and seats of the prophets. (4) an appointed sign, signal.(68)

4151 an assembly, poet. of a troop of soldiers, Isa. 14:31(69)

4150 ("a spurious form") festivals.(70)

4152 appointed place of meeting. Josh. 20:9, "cities of refuge" (refuge, shelter, port; place of refuge).(71)

4153 "assembly/ornament of Jehovah."(72)

4154;4571 to waver, to totter [great & spacious building]

4155 darkness, Isa. 8:22 [driven to darkness](73).

4156 counsels, Prov. 1:31 [shall be filled with own devices](74).

4157 a heavy weight, Ps. 66:10 [thou hast tried us as silver](75)

4158 "beauty." [Bringing us back to "Joppa" (2445Gr right after insertion point of "Hinck..."), which means "beauty" (3302Heb).]

The next word in this series of words surrounding #4150 (84150) is a most fitting and rivet of internal proof for the validity of this whole process of looking at names and such.

4159 a miracle, a prodigy; a beautiful, or splendid deed. Most frequently used of miracles performed by God and by those sent by Him -- as miracles were regarded as the signs of divine authority. (2) a sign, a proof; often used of the sign given by a prophet, to cause that which has been predicted or promised to be believed. (3) a sign of a future event, a portent. Isa. 8:18, "behold I and the children whom Jehovah has given me (are) signs and portents in Israel," i.e. with our ominous names we indicate future events. Zec. 3:8 men who in their persons show forth future events.

As I ponder the perfect order of God's plan and his purposes, which honor individual agency first of all, I have often puzzled how it is that these things could come together in such precision without requiring of us to be mere robots. How does God orchestrate these miracles without infringing upon the agency of man? I know in my own life, I have never felt constrained in any way in my choices, and yet many times I have discovered entries in the dictionary or lexicon which describe precisely what took place.

God gave the word, and great was the company of angels that published it.

Another question has often crossed my mind. These men, for whom the words of language forebode a negative role, especially the anti-Christ, did they know before being born what they were going to do? Did they choose this lot for some grand purpose that we cannot comprehend? Or did they have certain inclinations which did not pass notice by God, and he planted them according to his wisdom, according to the path of decisions they had made? Or was it a combination of these factors? Why would they have chosen to carry out such a role? Where were they with the Lord when the foundations of the earth were laid?

Personally, I am grateful for these men and the role they play to try the hearts of men in the fire to see if they will follow man or if they will trust in God alone. At what point are these men going to come to their senses and rally to the Lord themselves? I am of the opinion that at some point (whether it be tomorrow or even if it be millions of billions of years from now), even Satan himself is going to turn around and another will fill his throne in the netherworld, while he commences his path in the ways of God.

So I guess the answer in part to my question is that when these individuals turn around is purely their choice. Whether thy choose the compulsion program for billions of years or whether they turn and choose agency and life is up to them. Nevertheless, once monumental decisions are made, there is apparently a necessary season of due consequences by which the individual might digest the gravity of his mistake.

12d. "[8]4150" in the NT Greek Lexicon

Word #4150 in the New Testament lexicon(76), the number corresponding to the last four digits of the Mormon Headquarters zip code, is reminiscent of word #47, as it portrays both the problem and the solution. Word 4150 itself lies at the crux as a turning point. Here are the words surrounding #4150.

Equal to being happy (1 Cor. 4:8, where it means to make oneself rich because of the belief that in riches there is happiness). Syn.: (2141) to be well off.

4148 ploutizo: To make rich, enrich; to richly supply, meaning in everything, in every way.

4149 ploutos: Riches, wealth, goods. (I) Material goods (Matt. 13:22, "the deceitfulness of riches"). Metonymically as a source of power and influence in ascriptions. Metaphorically the riches of God or Christ, the rich gifts and blessings imparted by God or Christ. (II) Figuratively, meaning riches, abundance; preeminent. (1) The Holy Spirit as possessing being, intelligence, agency. (d) As coming to and acting upon Christians, illuminating and empowering them. (2) The Power of the Holy Spirit. (d) Of that authority by which the Apostles were qualified to act as directors of the church of Christ. Specifically, of the empowerment imparted by the Holy Spirit on and after the Day of Pentecost, by which the apostles and early Christians were endowed with high supernatural qualifications for their work: knowledge equivalent to a full knowledge of gospel truth and the power of prophesying, working miracles, and speaking with languages previously unknown to them; all done in evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

4152 µ pneumatikos: Spiritual. (I) Pertaining to the nature of spirits. (II) Pertaining to or proceeding from the Holy Spirit.

4153 µ pneumatikos: Spiritually, by the assistance of the Holy Spirit, prophetically, allegorically, mystically.

4154 pneo: To blow upon, as the wind or air (Matt. 7:25(78); John 3:8(79).)

There are yet more words applicable before and after the above listing. Their correlation does not become apparent until depicted in the chiasm of complementary/contrasting points that they form around word #4150. For sake of simplicity, the Greek spelling and pronunciation will not be included.(80)

12e. Chiasm around "[8]4150" in the NT Greek Lexicon

4142-4 . . . . . . D. A small vessel or boat; ship; sailing, navigation, voyage.

4145-9 . . . . . . . . E. Riches, wealth, abundance. [Temporal.]

4159 . . A. From where, why, how? [Question.]

I admit that these match-ups are not as irrefutable as most of the evidences being presented. I must say, however, that there are a wealth of other evidences along these lines that give more force to the heavy (and perhaps even seemingly strange) ramifications of these correlations.

The aspect brought out by this chiasm that may come as the biggest surprise is the prominence placed on the issue of eating meat. Such was introduced to the world with the Fall of Adam,(82) and will be removed with the introduction of Zion in power.(83) Meanwhile, animal flesh has become central to much of the world's diet -- not by necessity but by prideful extravagance; to the impairment of health, temporal and spiritual. This has been especially true in the United States of America, but even more so in Mormon Utah's Wasatch front.

Again (and perhaps especially), on this matter, the salt has lost its savor. The same revelation that has become famous to Mormonism that calls for abstinence from tobacco and alcohol, also charges the saints (something the least of which are capable) to eat meat sparingly at most, but not at all if one wishes to please the Lord, unless necessity requires.(84)

This chiasm further proves that an antithetical relationship exists between satiating oneself to overindulgence on animal flesh for food and being filled with the pentecostal baptism of fire.(85) This mirrors the gulf that exists between basking in worldly riches compared to receiving through the broken heart and contrite spirit the unending riches of the gifts of the Spirit, walking in God's righteousness.(86)

bullet Endnotes

48. 48 The arbitrary assignment by James Strong made standard for Lexicons.

49. 49 What we call "curiosity" is probably close to what is called a "prompting" in religious vernacular, and is a significant driver for enabling individuals to fulfill their life's missions. I pause to make this point in order to emphasize how predominant the hand of the Lord is in our life, whether we wish to acknowledge it or not. By noticing the source of these nudgings and expressing gratitude, we increase our ability to receive clearly and be directed in the paths God would have us tread.

50. 50 Gesenius.

51. 51 The difference between these two words is found in the vowel points (not shown).

52. 52 This prophecy has been the source of much discomfiture for the hierarchy, while providing much hope for awakening lay members who are apprehensive about various facets that seem to be amiss.

53. 53 Zodhiates.

54. 54 Not far removed from a pronunciation of "Hinckley."

55. 55 3 Nephi 9:20.

56. 56 "Ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you." (1 Cor. 3:16, 6:19.)

57. 57 "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." (2 Cor. 6:14-18.)

58. 58 "They seek not the Lord to establish his righteousness, but every man walketh in his own way." (D&C 1:16.)

59. 59 Gesenius.

60. 60 2447 ios: Something sent out, emitted, hence venom that serpents eject from their fangs; rust as being emitted or formed on metals. Deriv.: (863), to dismiss [the humble followers]; (2524), to let down; (3935), to neglect [Alma 32:38; 60:5-9,14]. (Zodhiates.)

61. 61 The hammer that the Lord uses to beat us over the head is allowing the consequences of our own stupidity to fall on us. Even the natural cataclysmic destructions will be the earth's reply to our raping of her resources and polluting her land, air, and water.

62. 62 "All you that are desirous to follow the voice of the good shepherd, come ye out from the wicked, and be ye separate, and touch not their unclean things; and behold, their names shall be blotted out, that the names of the wicked shall not be numbered among the names of the righteous, that the word of God may be fulfilled.

"And now I say unto you that the good shepherd doth call after you; and if you will hearken unto his voice he will bring you into his fold, and ye are his sheep; and he commandeth you that ye suffer no ravenous wolf to enter among you, that ye may not be destroyed." (Alma 5:57.)

63. 63 Isaiah on "Neck":

"And his breath [name of the Lord], as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err." (Isa. 30:28.)

"He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck.... Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations." (Isa. 66:3.)

"Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew...; I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I showed it thee [such as prophecies encoded around alphabetical listings of words of ancient languages as here illustrated]: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them." (Isaiah 48:4,5.)

"Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion." (Isa. 52:2.)

"[The Assyrian] shall reach even to the neck; and...shall fill the breadth of thy land." (Isa. 8:8.)

"His [the Assyrian's] burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing." (Isa. 10:27.)

64. 64 See previous footnote regarding "neck" and the Assyrian filling the breadth of the land, i.e. the establishment of Satan's kingdom throughout the earth.

65. 65 I suppose that there could not be another word in the entire Lexicon whose definition more acutely describes temple square in Salt Lake City, from which the Mormon Church broadcasts its messages to the world. That the number of this word would happen to be the zip code of the location is a match that defies any parameters of mere coincidence.

66. 66 These words of language have been around four thousands of years, but their application finally comes to its culmination now.

67. 67 Once again here is hard evidence that Jerusalem of old and Salt Lake City today are on a parallel, both headquarters of the people of God: the Jews first, and the Gentiles last.

68. 68 If this isn't one, I don't know what one is.

69. 69 Howl, O gate; cry, O city..., for there shall come from the north a smoke. What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion." (Isa. 14:31,32.)

70. 70 Such as hosting the U.N. conference on the family {date}; or the yearly Christmas concert series that rejoice too much in Santa and other seasonal paganisms (while of course mentioning Jesus too). "And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, [they that] tempt God are even delivered." (Mal. 3:15.)

71. 71 While great wickedness flourishes, so also will many humble followers of Christ be gathered to this area, being sanctified further by the persecutions heaped upon them by those who claim to be God's Church. "Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts." (Mal. 16,17.)

72. 72 Strong, refers to # 4573. Looking at the words in this vicinity is very interesting, as they depict the Early Mormon Saga: narration, the days...can be numbered a few [Saga] (4557); to separate oneself [Westward Ho!] (4560); admonition, instruction (4561); a hiding-place, refuge [Deseret] (4563); a hiding-place, the place of ambush [Indians] (4565); work [resolute] (4566-7); passing over, a place passed over, a narrow valley, pass of the mountains (4569); a rut in which the wheels revolve, a way (4570); a wagon rampart, a fortification (4570); to waver, to totter, to cause to shake [capitulation] (4571); ornament/festival of Jehovah [days of '47] (4573); delight, joy, delicate food, dainties [all is well] (4574); bonds [Babylon assimilation] (4575); a hoe [cultivation, expansion] (4576); flowing down [irrigation] (unused root).

73. 73 "They will look to the land, but there shall be a depressing scene of anguish and gloom; and thus are they banished into outer darkness." (Gileadi-Isa. 8:22.)

74. 74 "They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices." (Prov. 1:30,31.)

75. 75 "For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried." (Ps. 66:10.)

76. 76 Zodhiates.

77. 77 This definition is of extraordinary value in understanding the scope of the mighty change of heart that comes through the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, as it affects all these faculties on a fundamental level.

78. 78 Matthew 7:25, "And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."

79. 79 John 3:8, "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

80. 80 Those interested can obtain the spelling by looking up the word number.

81. 81 The carcasses of animals are a hidden reservoir of many diseases communicable to man.

82. 82 In the garden, the Lord said: "I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." (Gen. 1:29.) After the fall, he permitted, with exception, saying, "And surely, blood shall not be shed, only for meat, to save your lives; and the blood of every beast will I require at your hands." (JST-Gen. 9:11.)

83. 83 "The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD." (Isa. 65:25 [verse just before Isa. 66].) In this environment, the Holy Ghost will no longer be hindered by the curse under which we have been laboring. "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." (Isa. 65:24.)

84. 84 D&C 89:12-15.

85. 85 Compare, for example, the promise of the word of wisdom: "And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones; and shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures; and shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint. And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the destroying angel shall pass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen."

86. 86 1 Ne. 15:26-30; Luke 16:26; Helaman 3:29.

Schopenhauer
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
