Synopsis:

The fulness of the gospel as described in the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, is far more glorious than what is currently being practiced generally -- especially as it pertains to receiving the baptism of fire and continuing in grace through humble faith in Christ, bringing forth His righteousness. This neglect holds true of Christianity as a whole, but of Mormonism in particular, as they have been entrusted with the greatest degree of light an knowledge. These Gentile husbandmen, who in these last days have been commissioned to be the light to the world and the savor of men, have diluted the power and embellished the form of the gospel, trusting in their own strength more than the grace of God. Their changing of the ordinances and breaking of the everlasting covenant has brought upon them the curses of God. As salt having thus lost its savor, they are poised to be cast out and trodden under feet.

Scattered among the Gentiles, is a subset, the remnant of Israel, the true blood of Ephraim, who will arise and put on strength and be delivered from these curses. Thus will be born the manchild, the kingdom of God on earth. When this curse is lifted and this remnant begins to implement the fulness of the gospel in power, this light will break forth among the Gentiles, who receive it not but will fight against it because of their hardened adherence to false traditions. This will be a time of calamity upon the Gentiles, as their folly is made known among the nations. Then will the times of the Gentiles fulfilled. The gospel will then be taken with great power to scattered Israel, who will be delivered from bondage and be gathered to all their lands of promise, while the wicked are destroyed.

All men shall know that the Lord is God; every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess. Thus will emerge a changed people who have ushered in the millennial reign of Christ. This mighty change of an entire civilization, which could rightly be called their collective baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, lies at the heart of the great and marvelous work, in which the Lord God makes bare his arm in the eyes of all Nations. He shall be their God, and they shall be his people.

The Intent of This Book

The intent of this book is to prove the above paradigm and in so doing help catalyze the needed reformation spoken of, especially pertaining to the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, whereby we become established upon the foundation of Jesus Christ and whereby Satan can have no more power over us. Our collective neglect of this most fundamental doctrine of Christ has brought a collective condemnation. This curse must be lifted for Zion to be established, and this will take no trifling effort. Coming out from under this condemnation and into our full stature as men and women of Christ must be attended to with the greatest exertions of heart, might, mind and strength. This is our birthright. The alternative is to be cut off with the rebellious when the day of vengeance comes.

No quest is more important.

Thankfully, there are many efforts afoot which are moving this people in a positive direction. Books have been published, songs written, talks presented, seminar lectures given, and even some programs implemented which address this subject in a beneficial way, changing many lives. The understanding is out there in varying degrees, and improvement is being made to the same varying degree. All this is to the glory of God; and we ought to be grateful for it. However, even these efforts, for the most part, are inadequate compared to what is our destiny to achieve. There is a collective "oomph" that enough people must exert sufficient to lift the curse and see the powers of heaven unleashed. The needed effort is not about putting forth more energy in the works department, for that in large measure is where the problem has lain. The exertion that is called for is in the area of humility, the need to importune the Lord in sackcloth and ashes, calling upon him in mighty prayer -- not for a personal breakthrough, for these are already happening to a limited extent, but for a collective breakthrough; for when the curse is lifted collectively, then will the individual breakthroughs be more glorious and a thousand times more frequent.

This is the focus of this book: to help generate a hunger and a sense of gross indebtedness on the part of this people, as well as to establish the great need we have to offer this collective broken heart before the Lord, sufficient to lift this curse and have the powers of heaven descend as a fire.

The following document is not always easy reading.  At times it will require not only focused concentration but will require one to slow down and ponder.  Though some sections may be difficult to follow at first, remember that understanding is not dependent on intellect alone, but on inspiration. Listen to the voice of God as he whispers in your heart and mind.  This is always the most important source of learning anyway.

The Most Important Quest

What is most important? So many projects and pursuits rally for our attention. Each person has unique gifts and talents that set them apart from others in their walk in life, filling their niche in the grand plan of God. There are also common requirements placed upon all of God's children.

At times, individuals fulfilling their peculiar missions with zeal inappropriately call for everyone to adopt the same focus, calling theirs, "the most important thing," rather than recognizing that it is but one piece of a larger whole into which we all fit. Contentions arise when advocates of seemingly conflicting causes confront one another. How do we save the environment and promote free enterprise? Is it possible to encourage individual choice and also curtail the number of abortions and homosexually transmitted diseases? How do we increase the quality of life for the needy without increasing taxes? Can nations be reprimanded for cruel treatment of their citizens without embroiling other nations in war? How do we teach values to the rising generation without introducing denominational religion into public schools? Can there be order in an increasingly complex society without burgeoning government powers? Is it possible to eat the perfectly natural diet and also remain stress free? Can we remain devout in our denomination and also establish a direct communication with God? Can wickedness be censored and all peoples of the earth still have access to the truths available to man?

These competing voices are not only confusing at times, but they are frustrating and engender turmoil. What really is the most important thing? They all can't be the most important, for in their ultimate expression, as set forth by their talented advocates, they contradict each other. There is something more important than all these things, which, when implemented, will provide the solution to all these dilemmas. Alma declared, "Behold, there is one thing which is of more importance than they all--for behold, the time is not far distant that the Redeemer liveth and cometh among his people." (Alma 7:7.) Father Lehi similarly proclaimed, "Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered. Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah." (2 Ne. 2:7,8.) After talking about the circumstances of Christ's birth, ministry, and resurrection, Alma concluded his witness: "And now behold, this is the testimony which is in me. Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again...." (Alma 7:13,14.) These two coinciding witnesses are the only verses in the Book of Mormon, Old Testament, or New Testament that use any form of the word, "importan**." Both of them capture the essence of the message of this book. The broken heart and contrite spirit before God is vital in bringing forth the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, by which we are born again, bringing us under the saving embrace of mercy, in which we continue through humble reliance on God and His grace, bringing forth His righteousness -- not some pseudo-righteousness based on the folly-ridden arm of flesh. This is the essence of the doctrine of Christ. A society thus established with changed hearts founded in Christ would face none of the crises mentioned above, but would abound in peace, love, and light. Therefore, to consider any other issue the most important is to focus perhaps counterproductively on an effect, rather than directly addressing the root cause. The doctrine of Christ has been neglected, being relegated to a greatly diminished version, causing the salt to loose its savor, bringing a heavy curse upon God's people. It is this doctrine which must be revived and fully implemented, removing the curse, and bringing about Zion. It will be through such changed individuals that the Lord will make bare his arm in the eyes of all nations, performing his strange act.

The English definition of important refers to the word import, which means, in part:

"(1) That which a word, phrase, or document contains as its signification or intention; purport; meaning; hence, the application or interpretation of a word, action, event, writing, etc."

In this book, we will be looking very closely at several words that apply to the subject at hand (such as covenant, crucify, dove, fire, gate, gospel, heart) as well as the words before and after them, alphabetically. In doing so, it will be seen that the language itself testifies through the meanings of associated words, not only of the validity, but of the ultimate importance of Christ, of the fullness of his gospel, and of his great and marvelous work.

Hence the phrase, "Another Testament," in the title of this piece:  A New Testament:  A Mighty Change for a New World.   Encoded in the sequence of dictionary words listed alphabetically is an additional witness and commentary.

See alphabetics study on words before and after "Important" in English.

All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
