The writings of Samuel Taylor, one of my favorite authors, a living great grandson of President
John Taylor and the offspring of an excommunicated polygamist apostle, have been among the most
influential in my current views on polygamy.
He deals charitably, respectably, honestly, and humorously with a doctrine and practice that
can be so divisive.
One of the books that he wrote, which had a profound influence on me is, The
Last Pioneer : John Taylor, a Mormon Prophet. (1999 version)
Actually, the version I read was probably the now out-of-print The
Kingdom or nothing : the life of John Taylor, militant Mormon
Another classic by Samuel on this subject is Family
Kingdom.
A very fun and equally insighful one is Taylor
Made Tales
Marvelous books, every one.
