O Captive Daughter of Zion
By Caleb MitsVotai (2000)
I'm thankful for my Savior, he died to make me free,
I only pray for courage to live His laws of Liberty.
For we are all in a valley of decision in our day,
To preserve and promote freedom, or to choose Satan's way.
A plan of force & compulsion deceptively and cunningly sold,
so that even Christ's own covenant people unite with Satan's fold.
This war began in Heaven, long before our birth.
We were proven valiant before we came to earth.
But a third of God's own family, our brothers and sisters too,
Were lost in that fateful battle, because they were not true.
The battle here continues, the booty is the same,
The souls of men, the sons of God, Satan will try to claim.
Will we now be valiant, and true to freedom's song?
Or will we fail and falter, and join in Satan's throng.
Not only are we born in this God's chosen land,
But he restored the covenant, we are His chosen band.
A covenant of protection, if light and salt we'd be,
Valiant emissaries, to protect sacred liberty.
A sacred book of scripture, of nations long since gone,
Paralleling our own day, and tests that must be won.
But we have failed and faltered, and joined the ranks of sin,
Using force and compulsion upon the souls of men.
He gave us priesthood power, sons of God we would be,
If true to righteous principles to stand for liberty.
But being blinded children, we were conned with all the rest,
To support a wicked government and forcing- failed the test.
How are we so blinded that we cannot see the truth,
that our pride and search for riches have made us adulterers from our youth.
When the flag goes marching by on Independence day,
And everyone is cheering and celebrating the day away,
I think of our corruption and hang my head in grief,
Don't they understand that we are cursed for our unbelief?
We can still recover, the way is plain to see,
Stand with faith and courage, live His laws of liberty.
Come out of her my people, touch not the unclean thing,
Christ calls for our repentance, and mercy He will bring.
O Captive Daughter of Zion! Arise and take a stand!
Put on the precious priesthood, Proclaim liberty throughout the land!
