Subject: Alphabetics & Calendar Issue
Shalom Sterling,
I just want to say that I think that you have discovered something quite
original in Alphabetics. Up until now I really haven't had time to investigate
it or put it to the test. But I now theorize that your Alphabetics is directly
related to the Torah Code. The SKIPs used for the MATRICES in the Torah Code
are related to the NUMBER entry in the Strong's list. There are just too many
"coincidences" for there not to be a highly sophisticated design
involved. Furthermore, the only SKIPs so far that I have found useful have
been lower than 9000. Any thing above that begins to seem out of reach. Strong
only goes up to 8674 (Hebrew) and 5624 (Greek).
So, this opens a door. Thanks for your contribution.
Meantime, I've found more and more relating to Book of Mormon lands, and
more and more indications in the Torah Code as to the authenticity of the book
as a sacred history. I definitely feel that these "finds" cannot be
coincidental either.
I was in a little discussion with Lynn regarding Hebrew festivals as
delineated in Leviticus 23. I think he has a marvelous spirit and wonderful
approach. He correctly observed that the lunar calendar was used in ancient
Israel and served as the basis for their festival cycles. Also, I might add,
it is apparent that the Nephites used "moons" for their festivals as
well, since they followed the Jewish customs. But based on what is said in the
Book of Mormon concerning years, it also seems apparent to me that they used
the Chaldean 360-day year as a means of calculating time. That would explain
the apparent discrepancy between the time Lehi left Jerusalem--sometime after
the beginning of Zedekiah's reign--and the 600 years that were to pass before
the coming of Messiah. In terms of Solar years, 600 Chaldean years would be
about 591.4 years. (Daniel used the Chaldean, 360-day years, too, in his
prophecies.)
From the Torah Code it is beginning to seem to me that the Bible Calendar
begins 4002 BC (Julian) or -4001 (Gregorian). This is 240 years earlier than
the Rabbis have figured it. Also, I found "Leydah-Mashiach," in the
Code, (Birth of Messiah) indicating that he was born in the Rabbinic Year of
3760 on the 15th of Tishri, which is the festival of Succot (Booths). This
would be on a Saturday (Sabbath) 13 September 2 BC, (Julian) or 11 September
-1 (Gregorian). So, based on our current calendar (Gregorian) we would be in
the year 6001/2001, from Adam/Christ. So we are not that far off. [The skip
for Leydah-Mashiach is 533, which in Strong's equates with Ammits, meaning,
"Strength--mighty & strong (one)." The matrix used, however, for
this find, is 262, which is Akhvah, meaning, "utterance or
declaration." Messiah is mighty and strong and his birth was declared.
One small example of the correlation between the Torah Code and Alphabetics .
. ] Also, the Code strongly indicates to me that Jesus was crucified on
Friday, the 14th of Nisan 3793, or April 1 (Gregorian), April 3 (Julian) 33
AD. He would have turned 34 in the following September/Tishri as 3794-3760 =
34--evidence again to me that the Nephites used the Chaldean 360-day year. The
sign of the crucifixion was in their 34th year, 1st month, 4th day. 34 x 360 =
12,240 -:- 365.2422 = 33.5. He would have been 33.5 years old. The festival
Succoth (his birthday) is six months from Passover.
If this is so, then it seems to me that the Nephites not only used the
language of the Egyptians (i.e., Egyptian Jews--Chaldean or Aramaic in
Egyptian shorthand hieroglyphs) but also used their calendar for years and
moons. Which brings up a question: To what extent did this ultimately
contribute to their downfall? Why do I ask? And how could this contribute to
their downfall?
The reason I ask is because in spite of the righteous motives of the Book
of Mormon prophets, beginning with Lehi and Nephi, their civilization didn't
last. There was something critically wrong with it. Even after the coming of
Messiah to them in person, within a few generations they were no more. Moroni
closes out his father's (Mormon's) record with these words:
"Behold, I speak unto you as though I spake from the dead; for I
know that ye shall have my words. Condemn me not because of mine
imperfection, neither my father, because of his imperfection, neither them
who have written before him; but rather give thanks unto God that he hath
made manifest unto you our imperfections, that ye may learn to be more wise
than we have been. And now, behold, we have written this record according to
our knowledge, in the characters which are called among us the reformed
Egyptian . . ." (Mormon 9:30-32)
The sadness of the Nephite record is immense, almost unbearable. (That is
why I believe I had to stop digging for more relics after I found two through
the use of the Code. The "vibe" I got was one of unbearable
sadness.) What went wrong to the point that the Nephites "willfully
rebelled against their God?" How is it that the Jewish people do not see
Messiah? And among those who are being drawn to the Jewish Messianic movement
and are getting tangled up in a hidebound observance of the Torah, denouncing
the Catholics and the historic Church, how is this so? What spirit motivates
them? In what way are they being seduced? I am beginning to suspect it is the
spirit of Babylon that is at fault. What is often pointed to as
"Hebrew" and a return to Hebrew roots, is, in fact, Babylonian, not
Israelite. The Essenes realized this quite awhile ago, as is evident in some
of the Dead Sea scrolls. The Judeans had been corrupted by the Chaldeans
(Babylonians) long before the Babylonian invasion. They had also borrowed from
the Egyptians. So, the family of Lehi came from a culturally corrupted society
to begin with took with them the seeds of their own destruction. This is to
serve as an example for us, that we may be "more wise." But the key
to understanding this corruption is at the sod (secret) level of interpreting
Moroni's words at the end of Mormon. The key has to do with his statement
concerning the record being in Egyptian characters. Also, Nephi's opening
remarks concerning the language of the Egyptian (Jews). The Egyptian Jews
wrote in Chaldean and using Egyptian script. Chaldean means Aramaic and means
Babylon.
The LORD's Way is the Way of Light. It is Light that is celebrated. The
Nephites knew this to the extent that the "mark" placed upon the
Lamanites was associated with a general "way of darkness." "My
skin is black," says Job, as a result of feeling the loss of God's
presence. "Our skin is black (parched) as with a furnace because of the
burning heat of famine" laments Jeremiah (Lamentations 5:10). The word
for skin in Hebrew, Owr, comes from a root meaning "naked," or
"exposed." Exposure to the elements causes darkening of
pigmentation. "Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his
spots?" asks Jeremiah. The way of darkness is also characterized by self
marking or tatooing or painting the skin, all of which are forbidden in the
Law of Moses. How does this connect with the above question?
The Sun rules the Day. The Moon rules the Night. The Sun represents, then,
the time of Light and the Moon, the time of Darkness. The Babylonian gods
preferred darkness. Thus their religious calendar was set up to worship
darkness and it was the dark of the moon, not the full moon, that initiated
their sacred times. And it is this calendar, each month named after a
Babylonian god, that the Jews adopted. "The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness comprehends it not." The light is Messiah, and he is
also "the Sun of Righteousness rising with healing in his wings."
Could this connect with the Book of the Jubilees, used by the Essenes?
"And God appointed the sun to be a great sign on the earth for days
and for sabbaths and for months, for feasts, years sabbaths of years, for
jubilees, and every season of years. The sun divided light from darkness so
that all things may prosper which shoot and grow in the earth."
The Essenes separated themselves from their fellow Judeans because of among
several things, the calendar issue. They believed that the year should conform
to the cycle of the sun, 52 weeks (364 days) a year, apparently adding one
week to the seventh month every 7 years, and adding two weeks every 50 years
(Jubilees) except if the Jubilee is also divisible by 7, then only one week.
Then, a Jubilee of Jubilees (50 x 50) or year 2500, a third week is added. In
7000 years it comes out almost exactly with the solar calendar, only one day
short--a time to reset? Or perhaps a day during the 7000 year interval that
was to be added to move Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, making Sunday the
light of the week and Monday now the first day? Could this be what Isaiah
meant when he wrote:
"Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and
the light of the sun well be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the
day that the LORD binds up the bruise of his people and heals the stroke of
their wound." (Is 30:26)
There are many subtle things involved here. If we do not in fact worship
the LORD at his Moadim (appointed times) means an appointment is being missed,
right? If we are celebrating the dark of the moon as the new moon, and
Saturn's Day as the day of rest when the Sun of Righteousness has come, and we
are using the lesser light that rules the night rather than the greater light
that rules the day for our times and seasons, is it possible that darkness and
night will begin to influence in a collective way that we won't even be aware
of? And as darkness extends itself collectively in this subtle way, do not the
powers of darkness begin to extend themselves to the point of bringing about
great spiritual seductions? When our nation was founded it was a strong
practice to set aside Sunday as a day of rest and worship. This extended all
the way up until the 1960s, when stores began to stay open on Sunday and
people began to use the day for recreation more than for worship. Now look at
us! Would Sabbath days be neglected, however, if we were following the
Jubilees way of the calendar, acknowledging sabbath years and beginning our
year in the 7th month, as well as sounding the trumpet at the full moon and
acknowledging all of the LORD's appointed times? The Lord says through Isaiah
that our sabbaths and new moons are a weariness to Him. Could it be in part
because they are not His Sabbaths and His appointed times??? His way of
Sabbaths is also His means of addressing social ills, of ecology, the
environment, and of taking care of the poor. Because it seems to me that this
may be a critical thing, I have been trying to see if it is possible to
restore the LORD's calendar by finding a starting point and pinpointing some
dates. We were, in our society, following the weekly schedule by Sunday
Sabbath observance. But we were not observing the Sabbatical years nor
Jubilees and our calendar, though Solar, is influenced by Roman pagan
practices rather than the LORD's Moadim. So the darkness of the year--the
winter solstice--is celebrated corresponding to the celebration of the Roman
calf god, Mithra, as our chief religious holiday. And it has become a
celebration of materialism, not of Messiah. It may have been a good intention
of the church fathers to replace the Roman deity with Christ, but there is
still the subtle intrusion of darkness by celebrating the darkness of the
year. And now, with the rise of Hebrew roots groups, there is a returning to
the Lunar calendar and unwitting veneration of the Babylonian gods in so
doing. Several months in the Gregorian calendar have also the names of pagan
gods, by the way. The god, Janus, begins our year.
I could be wrong in the way I am currently interpreting the Torah Code in
the dates I have tentatively pinpointed, but I think the answer may be hidden
therein and that Alphabetics may offer a key and a check to future
discoveries. So I will persist in this effort for the moment. Hope all is
well. Shalom & Baruch HaShem! Dean.
