Dear Editor,

Christmas is such a wonderful holiday season, as the spirit of giving and of peace is so close to people’s hearts. I’ve got an idea of how to make this year even more special.

What if we were to declare Christmas ‘98 as "Christmas in Honduras," and divert much of that generosity and sharing intended for one another here, down to our neighbors in Central America through the various agencies that are in place to administer to their relief?

This Christmas could then be remembered as the time when the horrible devastation of Hurricane Mitch was replaced by one of the greatest outpourings of kindness ever.

Sincerely,

Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
