Eulogy for Ezra Taft Benson

Dear Editor,
How appropriate that Ezra Taft Benson, who gave his life in the service
of God, family and country should pass away on Memorial Day. If anyone is a patriot, he
is.
Thanks to him, the Book of Mormon has become more the focus that the
Lord intended it to be. More people have been brought closer to God through reading and
applying its messages. More people have experienced or are at least seeking the mighty
change of heart, being born again C the baptism of fire.
His advocacy of the Constitution of the United States never wavered.
His warnings about the threats to it have been legion. Now we live in a world that is
bringing to pass they very monster of which he warned: world socialism C a Satanic system
of government based on compulsion. Fires of destruction and chastening will surely result,
just as the prophets (including Ezra Taft Benson) have foretold. The righteous will
prevail, for the will be saved, even if it so be as by fire.
May we recommit our lives as he so often urged, to be the
"changed" men and women of Christ who will change the world, rather than become
enslaved to a satanic plot that seeks to impose change from the outside. May we be saved
by fire, individually and as a people. May we never let the words of the prophet and
patriot Ezra Taft Benson be forgotten, nor any other word of one of God's mouthpieces.
Truth will prevail.
