Follow the Prophet B to the New World Order?
December 4, 1997
Dear Editor,
An article in the November 29 LDS Church News titled, AScripture Theme: Follow
Prophet,@
captures a general Mormon belief. The article, like the Mormon culture in general, fails
to emphasize the primary theme of the scriptures, which is to come to Christ and be
perfected in Him, which entails coming forth with a broken heart and contrite spirit and
receiving a mighty change of heart B the baptism of fire B so as to become a conduit of God=s righteousness. This doctrine of Christ is given meager
lip service in Mormondom; while in practice, the prophet is placed in the seat of the One
on whom we should rely.
This usurpation of loyalty, placing one =s trust in man over having a personal walk with God, leads
only to folly, no matter how supposedly holy the person in whom we trust may be. There is
only one sure foundation on which we might safely and securely build, and that is Jesus
Christ B not the
prophet, not the Church, not anything or anyone else.
Yes, God ordained that Gordon B. Hinckley be placed where he now sits. However, one of
the primary reasons for this is to show the people the folly of placing trust in man more
than God.
President Hinckley predicts that AThe future will be essentially the same as the past, only much brighter and
greatly enlarged.@
(Ibid.) This fits his motto: ACarry on.@
This is nearly verbatim with the statement in Isaiah: ATo morrow shall be as this
day, and much more abundant.@ (Isa. 56:12.) But what manner of Aprophets,@ according to Isaiah, make such statements?
Isaiah says these Awatchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot
bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. They are shepherds that cannot understand:
they all look to their own way, every one for his gain.@ (Isa. 65:10,11.) In D&C
101 language, the slothful husbandmen have neglected to erect a tower wherein they could
sit as watchmen, but have instead given the money to the exchangers: the New World Order
bankers and International tradesters.
Contrary to the Mormon dogma, this scripture from Isaiah, among a host of others, says
that the leaders of the Lord =s people not only can
but will lead the people astray, for the people refuse to turn to the Lord himself
but insist on following a man. God is allowing a strong delusion to come over this people.
The awesome reality of our condition is that we are headed for sudden destruction to
chasten and purge us. The enemy shortly will be upon us.
Rather than warn us of this fact, the current leaders of Mormondom are making ungodly
alliances with these foes and are leading their people into alignment with the New World
Order, which is Satan =s kingdom on earth. This religious and political treason will be seen in
retrospect to be the greatest sell-out of all time.
One of the themes of the scriptures is indeed about following prophets, but a careful
reading will show that this program as implemented today in Mormondom, is granted by a
provoked Lord to cause the people to stumble because they desired it, like unto the
children of Israel anciently. The higher program is to follow the Lord grace for grace
until coming to a fulness. Choose you this day whom you will serve: God, or man.
