Dear Editor,
With talk about the possibility of the reversal of Roe vs. Wade which legalized abortion (e.g.
Jan. 23 UPI headline: "Clinton: Roe v. Wade at stake in election"), perhaps it would be
good to remember that Jane Roe (Norma McCorvey) herself has reversed her position, denounced the
multitude of lies upon which the abortion industry is founded, and is now an avid pro-life
spokesman.
McCorvey, a former lesbian, drug addict, and militant pro-abortionist, is now a Christian
pro-life advocate. On January 21, 1998, she testified before the Senate Subcommittee on the
Constitution, Federalism and Property rights: "I'm sorry to admit that I'm the Jane Roe of
'Roe v. Wade.' The affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court didn't happen the way I said it did,
pure and simple. I lied!"
Once the poster child of pro-abortionists, and author of a book, "I am Roe: My Life, Roe
v. Wade, and the Freedom of Choice," she is now an ignored thorn on the far side-lines of the
movement, with her pro-life Dallas-based ministry, "Roe No More." Her 1998 book,
"Won By Love," is a moving account of her life, her pro-abortion activism, and her
religious conversion.
Would to God that the nation would follow suit! And thanks to this paper for having the courage
to publish this letter, despite the overwhelming media black-out that usually accompanies such
news as this that undermines the favorite agendas of the liberal establishment.
Sincerely,
Sterling D. Allan
