In Pursuit of Good Exotheology
by Sterling D. Allan
Nov. 21, 2004
RAISING MY HAND FROM THE BACK OF THE CLASSROOM TO ASK A QUESTION FROM LEFT
FIELD.
My awareness of the ET issue has grown from a passing
interest into a conviction, and with that conviction comes a hole in my theology
-- a void because it is not addressed in the theology with which I was raised,
and even the newer theology that I am considering as I comb the world and its
varied richness of theological teachings that are generally absent in the
religion in which I was raised, though not necessarily incompatible with it.
How do ETs fit into the plan of progression, ours, theirs, and the idea of a
hierarchy of benevolent beings ("God") who actively superintend events
on the planet in the form of the Holy Ghost and guardian angels, in opposition
to demonic impressions and guidance from the dark brotherhood, as you call them?
Theologically, who are the E.T.'s and what role do they play? Are we their
inferiors spiritually? I would imagine there is quite a wide gamut there, from
highly evolved technologically, but not spiritually, to highly evolved
spiritually but not so affixed technologically; from highly benevolent, to
highly malevolent. There seems to indeed be a galactic, if not intergalactic
"war" between the forces of good and evil analogous to the struggle
here on this planet. From what I understand, our planet is not a sitting member
of our galactic federation because we are not advanced enough to have
representation, so we have a sort of "little child that needs to be watched
over" status.
What role do E.T.'s play in the formulation of earthly theology? What role do
E.T.'s play in actual epiphany/manifestation kinds of phenomenon?
Do their angels visit and appear and influence here? Do ours go there to their
various civilization centers?
I would imagine that there is a galactic and intergalactic and even
interuniverse level in the oversight by the council of God, each being a higher
level of sophistication and advancement.
Do the various population centers of the various E.T races have isolated heavens
where the departed spirits between lifetimes reside, or is there commerce
between them? Do they have border crossing conditions from one heaven to the
other? What about the "hellish" post mortality experience that some
who have lived horrible lives experience? Is there commerce (interaction)
between the hells of the various population centers of the galaxy?
Let's say in my next life I yearn for a particular experience that will not be
able to be fulfilled for eons on this planet, so I wish to go to another galaxy
where a planet is at a certain stage and configuration so I can have a
particular experience. Is there a group evolution that keeps me
"stuck" with this planet or galaxy, like a child is generally stuck
with its family while growing up?
When we think of life after life (mortality followed by mortality, with a
"spirit world" breather in-between where choices are made about what
the next mortality will entail), and we consider our brother-sister beings of
other civilizations in the galaxy, and we consider that some of them are
"adopted" into our group evolution, and vice versa, then it is
conceivable that advanced beings from ET races occasionally incarnate in our
civilization to help us accomplish certain things.
Here's another question. In my previous theology (prior to ET conviction -- by
which I mean a firm belief that they exist and that they are pertinent to our
planet and to our spiritual advancement at this juncture in history), I
anticipated a time in our not-to-distant future, in fact I believed it would
happen in my lifetime, after our purging by calamity, group humiliation and
divine redemption, a new society on this earth -- one which Joseph Smith called
a return of the paradisiacal glory, the Edenic state but with enlightenment. I
believe that state will be devoid of a telestial level manifestation on the
earth because as a group we will have evolved collectively from being telestial
to being terrestrial (born of the spirit, though not necessarily overcoming all
things to a "Celestial" level, though there will be many souls of a
celestial level among us, indeed the "church" that provides spiritual
leadership to the planet in its continual group evolution will be of a
"Celestial" advancement).
In that advanced state, I envisioned free commerce between angelic and divine
beings with humans in the flesh -- "heaven on earth," as it is called
theologically.
So, here's the question or point. If we as a planet are so inferior spiritually
at this time to some of the advanced ET races that fly around our galaxy and
universe, and our next, pending, on the brink step of advancement is to mingle
freely with God (the diving hierarchy that oversees our planet, with one
male-female couple at its head) and with angels in our midst, you would think
that those ET races advanced from ours would already be at that level of
commingling with God and angels -- and therefore that angels and divine beings,
being in their midst, are aboard their air craft, instructing, discussing
strategy -- if not visibly ever present, at least spiritually manifest.
We know that all things are one, and that God is one. We know that the galaxy
and universe and other universes are not outside the scope of God, and thus that
the "oneness" that we seek within ourselves and with others around us
ultimately extends infinitely through the infinite universes that surround us,
of which our known universe is but as a spec of sand on a seashore of universes.
Furthermore, if that's not enough to get some thought stimulated, it would
appear that there are multiple dimensions of existence and time. If our nearby
universe is but a single molecule in the tail of a panting dog in some other
level, as a nanoscopic flea on a quark in an electron, in an atom, in a molecule
in a cell of our body, how do those dimensions interact theologically? Is there
any interplay or are they as removed from an awareness of their disparate
theologies as a slug is from a human's awareness?
The later question is not nearly as pressing on my mind as the earlier question.
ETs are here and now, and the immediate future of our planet will be profoundly
molded by our awareness of and interaction with them.
Who are they, theologically?
That is my question. And I think it bears deep consideration as its
ramifications are far-reaching in the here and now.
If our awareness of our visiting ET neighbors can help solicit their mediation
in keeping us from blowing ourselves off this planet, then an understanding of
who they are theologically is invaluable. Furthermore, if some of the ET
neighbors hanging around have malevolent designs on us, viewing us as mere
chattel for harvesting and slave labor, using our world governments to exercise
such control over us, then soliciting the assistance of the benevolent faction
would be appropriate, to level the playing field.
If our planet is slated for wipe-out in 2012, by an asteroid on a fixed course,
for example, and life will be as impossible here thereafter as it is on mars
now, and an escape is necessary, then it seems that soliciting benevolent ET
assistance in preparing for some sort of exodus would be prudent.
My theology does not see the earth becoming permanently uninhabitable after
2012. I do believe that the earth will be transformed, and that 2012 could be a
purging event that does the trick.
All things physical have a spiritual counterpart, and vice versa. The earth went
though a physical baptism by water with the flood of Noah. It will go through a
physical baptism of fire in the days not far ahead -- in our lifetime, I
believe.
I cannot help but think that that baptism will require every bit as much of an
escape vehicle as those who survived the flood of Noah had an escape vehicle --
complete with seeds and animals to repopulate the earth after the baptism by
water.
So also, I would think that there will be an escape vehicle humungous in scope,
to repopulate the earth after its baptism by fire. Some individuals may be
spirited elsewhere, transplanted. But I would think that the ideal fate of our
group evolution would be to stick around here and repopulate Earth. I cannot
fathom that such a feat could be accomplished without the assistance of advanced
ET races willing to assist.
While they would not be able to convey the supplies required through the
galactic distances, they could assist us in utilizing our own resources to
construct such a craft, and to known how to hibernate the animals so they don't
eat or poop us to death while we wait for the earth to calm down enough to come
back down.
Could it be that Mars had no such vehicle, and is thus in its present destitute
state? Could it be that in our not too distant future (e.g. our great
grandchildren), that earthlings will re-seed and repopulate Mars?
What about the cities that were taken up -- Enoch, Salem, Melchizedek -- with a
return slated after the earth is cleansed? Was the purely a function of a divine
miracle moving people and soil? Where did they go? Or were there ET races
involved in those transplantations, moving a whole society from this planet
because they had transformed high enough spiritually?
The scripture prophecies speak of a time when we will be "lifted above the
clouds." That would seem to fit a Noah's ark sort of capability but on a
larger scale.
When the earth is purged by fire, it's not like we're going to be able to go
above the clouds and hang out for a couple of hours and then drop back down,
possibly missing a meal. No, such a conflagration would take a long time to stop
smoldering and to cool down enough to once again support life. Noah's flood was
a day short of a year.
There will need to be some kind of solid surface upon which we will reside.
There will need to be food, plumbing, infrastructure. And the plants and animals
will need as much as well. That will be no small undertaking however it happens.
Why wouldn't there be ET's involved in assisting such an event? Of course there
would be, along with our angels and their angels. Anything left on the earth
would be fried to a crisp. So only those who board this modern ark or set of
arks will make it, in this model that I see, in combining my previous theology
with these new questions I'm asking in regard to the role of ETs in that
theology.
This question so intrigues me, that I am going to commence a discussion group
just for this subject. I welcome any who wish to pursue it with me.
If there already exists a solid theology of which I am not aware, then I would
be interested to know of it. I'm not inclined to read volumes upon volumes. Any
such theology should be able to be distilled briefly. If there is no such solid
theology, then perhaps we can assemble something based on the answer that come
from our questions. Ask and ye shall receive.
"A Universal Theology that Embraces our Extraterrestrial Neighbors."
Did they have a Jesus Christ in their past history? Did they have a Moses? Did
they have a Noah? An Adam? A Joseph Smith? A latter-day David? An anti-Christ?
666? How ubiquitous are these motifs in the progression of civilizations
elsewhere in the universe? On a general progression chart, how far along are we
in relation to the Extraterrestrials involved heavily with our planet? 1st
grade? 5th?
What sort of technologies can they bring to us as we engage them? Health
remedies, energy solutions, transportation solutions, pollution remedies,
spiritual teachings?
I do not know of a theology at present that embraces the richness that Mormonism
has to offer (e.g. the awareness of the eternal progression of the soul and our
destiny to evolve into godhood eventually), which I have embellished to include
a quorum of Gods interacting with a quorum of ones mighty and strong now on the
earth assisting at this juncture in earth's progression. I have also embraced
firmly the teaching of multiple -- infinite -- mortalities, each providing a new
set of learning experiences and opportunities to grow and overcome to a higher
level of awareness and ability to serve. And between each mortality is a spirit
world breather either short or long, whatever is needed and desired to rest up
between mortalities. I also believe that when we are in the spirit world phase
of existence between mortalities that we operate under the direction of God to
serve in unseen capacities as guardian angels and such to mortals, though not
all spirit beings are involved in such tasks, as there are other missions to
perform in that realm. Some may just plain relax and do nothing for a while.
I believe in a council that decides who is born where and when, with what gifts
and talents and challenges, and that the individual is heavily involved in
making decisions with this council. I believe that we participate in that
council between mortalities, both in advising and in being advised as we prepare
for our next incarnation.
Certainly that council is not confined to an awareness of just this planet, but
that they are in touch with other planets and systems, and that they have
representation in those systems.
I would think that likewise the forces of darkness have a degree of organization
in the spirit realm, and that they too plan and plot how they will further their
purposes both in the spirit realm as well as interacting with the incarnate
realm. I would think that there are other pockets of dark organization
galactically that work together in opposition to the benevolent forces.
I would think that the core dividing principle between these two camps boils
down to free will -- agency -- the right to choose one's own course versus being
coerced by others into a certain outcome. That one operates out of influence and
invitation, while the other operates out of force and control.
As I see it, these elements -- the spirit beings and the incarnate ET beings --
both interact with us on our planet, both individually and collectively, to
promote a certain outcome. Also, as I see it, what ultimately transpires will be
a result of the choices we make, individually and collectively.
I am not in a position at present to pursue this question and quest for such a
theology with intense focus, but I do plan on pursuing it in hobby fashion a
little at a time.
I invite you to join with me if you are so inclined.
Perhaps we will create a website. Let's definitely have a discussion list. Until
we have a website, we can use the "links" section of the YahooGroups
discussion forum to post relevant links, as well as the files and photos
sections if they might be of use as well.
Let's keep the list on topic. It will start out unmoderated until we see the
need to moderate because of too much off-topic or inflammatory type of posting
-- or even for sheer volume sake, to make the dose bearable for those of us who
have other passions we are pursuing with vigor.
Here it goes:
