Another point of view...literal view! I have seen His tears because even
those who have qualified to come into His presence and "see His
face" while they are yet in mortality; and receive the promises of
exaltation for the world to come; do not understand it is a literal
invitation. Please don't rationalize it away...it breaks His heart.
We are dual beings. We have physical eyes and physical ears. We also have
spiritual eyes and spiritual ears. We "see" the Lord with our
spiritual eyes and "hear" His voice and the voices of angels with
our spiritual ears. Remember the incident when Elisha's servant was afraid and
Elisha told him those who were for them were more than those who were against
them. Then Elisha prayed for his servant's SPIRITUAL EYES to be opened and
then his servant saw the armies of angels there to protect them with his
SPIRITUAL EYES.
Joseph Smith stated that when he came out of the First Vision he "came
to himself again", he found himself lying flat on his back. He had been
shown the vision "in the spirit"! On another occasion he stated:
"The vision was opened to my mind...". In the Book of Ether, Chapter
19 it clarifies: "And there wer many whose faith was so exceeding strong,
even before Christ came (literally physically), who could not be kept from
within the veil but who truly saw with their eyes (now that he was physically
there) the things which they had beheld with an eye of faith (spiritual eyes)
(before), and they were glad." These people (the brother of Jared was
mentioned as one), had already "seen" the Lord with their spiritual
eyes and doubtless received promises from His own mouth.
Even Spencer W. Kimball said he had never seen the Lord. Then he tells of a
vision of seeing heaven and the Lord on His throne. He had numerous journals
of SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCES in which He both saw and heard and was taught of the
Lord. Yet he denied having seen Him. How sad he didn't understand that is how
mortals "See Him face to face and even receive the Father and the
ministration of angels!
When He comes again, the righteous will physically see Him descend WITH
THEIR PHYSICAL EYES, and be caught up to meet Him in His cloud. There will be
those among them who have already seen Him with "and eye of faith"
or in other words, "WITH THEIR SPIRITUAL EYES".
Once you understand this, and want it more than you want anything else, and
pray for it with all your heart and soul, and give away all your sins, He will
come! He will deliver the promises to you from His own lips! He will send
angels and the spirits of just men made perfect to anoint and minister to you!
He will lift you up IN THE SPIRIT to heavenly realm and show you things to
come and teach you all things!
Please don't limit the Lord. His word is literal!!!!
