The Nature of Greater Things:
New Scripture Hidden in Plain Sight

The New Testament is to the Old Testament what the Book of Mormon is to the Bible: an additional witness and greater revelation prepared of the Lord to bring his people further along in their progression toward the spiritual and temporal kingdom of God.

Likewise, what the Book of Mormon is to the Bible (O.T. & N.T), the word studies contained herein (and the approach in general) are to the connon of scriptures that has already been given. They represent Greater Things.

Greater things prove what we have already been given to be true and strengthen our faith in them and in the Lord of whom they testify. Greater things expand to higher levels our understanding of the Lord and his ways so as to be able to see things in a new way. Hence, greater things bring us closer to the Lord and enhance our ability to emulate him and do his work, that we might grow grace for grace, line upon line, until we receive a fullness of all things.

These word studies are not the only means by which the Lord will provide greater light and knowledge to his people, but they are a very important, foreordained source and must not be treated lightly. Because they are a revelation from the hand of God, they are scripture in and of themselves. In making such a bold declaration, I do not mean to imply that my own commentaries are scripture. Their purpose is to direct you to the words of the scriptures themselves.

Because greater things by very definition provide additional light and knowledge, they also exact greater accountability. Hence, as an act of mercy, greater things are designed to be hidden or withheld from those who are not yet willing to abide by the greater responsibility expected. That is why chiasms, parallels, and alpha-bet ical association studies are ideally suited for this time in which a great division is taking place preparatory to the second coming of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Because these studies are parabolic in very nature, they remain hidden from those unprepared or unwilling to receive more, while providing greater light and knowledge to those who seek and know how to obtain it: digging deep, listening, and obeying the voice of God.

Very little will be gleaned from these materials if they are treated like most other printed matter. By design, a mere reading will not produce results, and the tendency will be for such a reader to consider the material as having no significant value - a waste of time. However, a careful study in the spirit of pondering upon the words of life, having faith in God, will be richly rewarded. You will find that you will glean new things each time you approach these things in this manner, just as is the case with the scriptures you have already come to know and love.

One of the most beautiful aspects of these word study approaches for obtaining greater light and knowledge is that they call upon, in near perfect balance, both the feminine, right brain (the heart), and the masculine, left brain (the head), which each of us possess and must utilize in harmony in order to come into a fulness of God. The head, or thought processes, are required to make the connections, and the heart is what allows you to read the messages between the lines.

Do not expect to be able to catch everything at once. Rather, let the Lord lead you one step at a time until the whole picture becomes clear before you. These study tools are designed to lead you line upon line to the greater light and knowledge of the Lord. Be patient, have faith, and the Lord will speak to you.

Finally, as is the case with all things that come from God, to the extent that the Lord blesses your life through these materials, you will be accountable to share what you have with others as you feel directed to do so - to be a light to the world. In other words, pass it on. Ideally, rather than merely referring your best friends to this material, you might consider giving it to them as a gift, so that the word of God might be provided without money and without cost. Feel free to make as many copies as you feel impressed to share, just make sure that the Greater Things address appears on every copy set.
