Brother Allen (sic [Allan]):

I've always welcomed your posts, even some a breath of fresh air. However, I know the Lord is working in ways beyond our wildest dreams. There is a great awakening in the Kingdom. Many so called saints are leaving because it's not the paradasical (sic) glory city where all may look forward with the welfare mentality, but the contrary is blossoming. There are mighty ones stepping up to the call to love the people back into harmony of the gospel of Christ Jesus. What's entirely interesting, these mighty ones are the humble salt of the earth, meek and mild, but their words are from on High, even as mouthpieces of the Lord. Are they GA's stout in authoritive offices that glory before men? Very few my friend, but on the contrary the Lord seeks the ones whose law is in their heart and in their minds. The ones who gave their heart, might, mind and souls who say, "...Abba Father..." They are the ones who knows the only True God and His Son Jesus Christ whom He has sent. They are the ones who are nursing kings and queens who are not ashamed and will lick the dust from the elects feet. They are those who shall wait on the Lord patiently and with joy because they know Him and He knows them, for they hear His voice.

I have hung in there for the same reason. The Lord knows what's going on in the church and I believe he still claims it as his own. Has a wonderful work and wonder to perform a day soon. I want to be a part of that. No...not is all well in zion...but there are reasons for things happening. A day soon.....we'll be able to look back and see it.

My dearest Sterling,

I was touched by your experience in Africa [...] beyond what words can say. I have for a long time felt that of all the people in the world that need the sustaining, sharing, strong knowledge that HE lives and is our Redeemer and will not fail us in spite of the weakness of men, which permeates you throughout your being, this support and straight is needed most by the LDS who have had so much milk, that when they receive the challenge and testing of who, why, how, some of the top leaders of today and the past have caused a great loss and brought into the church the abomination of lack of knowledge which has caused many to perish and cause the diminishing of faith of many of the children of God by these wayward leaders acts of treason to HIM and them. Many of them will have their testimonies nearly destroyed and will need that strength, which only one who has suffered as you have can give.

Those outside the church who have never heard or accepted the truth of the gospel, who have not made the sacred covenant with HIM will have less condemnation since they have not fallen away or denied HIM. Those inside have farther to fall and can become more bitter and defiant to cause them and their families more harm. Your commitment will be a great benefit to them in the turbulent times to come.

The adversary is not happy with your commitment to humble your self to those who are less seeing to give your life and suffer the opposition and stumbling blocks that he will throw with some force into your path to make you stop and desert those you have dedicated yourself to serve. You have the straight and love to overcome even when coming from some whom you least expect it from and will hurt the most, since the Lord has guided you and trained you for this purpose. In particular, you must let your love come forth to thwart the fiery darts.

This is one of the greatest challenges of your life, to become an entrenched leader with the full knowledge of these problems, to view the continuing decline much as Mormon and Moroni did in their day, to stand with those who need this strength and nourishment to assist and help them keep their faith intact in spite of the abominations and as the Lord said the in the face of the needed opposition in all things.

In a sense this is the role I have chosen because my heart tells me it is so needed, and each time I get ready to send my letter of challenge which will in all likelihood deny me the chance to join you in this great calling to serve HIM and those who need it most.

I am proud and I know he is proud of you and your decision and call on the Father to Bless and sustain you and your family with the ability to always keep the image of this bright calling which vibrates with the Glory of Him who sent you as you and they face the trials of your commitment in the days to come. Love to All,

-- WM

Sterling I hope you and everyone else doesn't feel that this is in bad taste.

I feel like saying congratulations.

The last 20 years I have searched for truth, tried kicking a hole in the veil, studied, prayed etc. My efforts always seem to be hampered by mortality (physical life)

The Lord keeps reminding me that the things I desire will be given to me at a later time. He reminds me that I have already been given much, but there are many people who struggle with concept of the atonement, the bible, Book of Mormon etc. If I'm patient and just point people in his direction then everything I want to know will be given to me. Right now he wants me to learn by teaching others.

We've all had our share of experiences with deity, and I'd like to share one. Several years ago during a fast and during meditation. I had a small vision. Jesus Christ was facing me, we were looking at each other through a glass window. Surrounding Christ were several angels who appeared to be floating in pink and blue clouds. I was knocking on the glass, trying to get through. A tear came to the eye of Christ and he said "Look behind you" I turned a seen a crowd of people many of which were going about their business with out even noticing Jesus was watching them. Some were staring at him in bewilderment. Some were on their knees praying to him. He then looked at me and said there is important work to do for this group of people. Will you help me. It became apparent my spiritual progression was going to stop right there were I stood.

When we are called back to heaven, Christ sometimes loses a tool or a teacher etc.

Can't Fathom Them Letting You Back In

Well I guess if that's what you feel to do. I wonder if the church will have you back considering your high profile exing?

I also wonder why you would subject yourself to their censorship, you know they will insist you take down your websites and this list etc. since they are magnets for supposed apostates. You know they will never stand for these things.

I could see you getting back in if it was just up to a local bishop or SP but with your notoriety I doubt it will be.

I have no inclinations to do any such thing but am interested in how it goes with you and would like to observe so I joined your group. I sincerely wish you the best in this endeavor however it works out and would like to hear more of your epiphany if you care to share.

Looking Forward to Comparing Notes

Sterling,

I, too, have had similar feelings.. .almost walking the same road as you are now walking. I am about to embark on those "meetings" with the Stake Pres that one must start and finish successfully if one is to rejoin the Church. Like yourself, I feel that my calling and my place are within the confines of the LDS Church. I would be interested in comparing notes with you on this issue. Right now, I am in far away New Zealand and have had several wonderful spiritual experiences that have left me loving the Church and wanting to re-unite with it. I, too, was excommunicated for "apostasy" in 1993, but even so have influenced a number of people to either join the Church or stay in the Church. I sent my own son to Winnipeg, Canada on a mission, and now my daughter is about to serve a mission in February.

Please, allow me to share my thoughts more fully with you on this issue.. and let us support one another on this, our similar quest, seeking to compare notes in the process...

Glad to Hear You Coming to Senses

Sterling,

I am glad to hear of your change of heart and I encourage your continued work in this reconciliation. I must admit that one of your posts in late November, a short time previous to you departure to Africa, displayed in my mind an antagonistic tone concerning the Church. It caused me to wonder how much protection God would afford you and your efforts, even though you are striving to effect a righteous outcome.

One caution, consider carefully any public critique of the Church or it's leaders.

In any case I do wish you well and certainly encourage you in your righteous endeavors, especially in this reconciliation with the Church.

Thanks,

-- VN
Sterling's comment in reply:
It has been the lack of accountability of the leaders and absence of public criticism from the loyal that has enabled things to get so out of hand.

The Church is True

Dear Sterling:

This is extremely good news. What you need more than anything is to re-connect with the Holy Spirit-you know what I mean. the Spirit is working with you now, it appears, nudging you in the right direction. Keep it up, and hang in there. It is not an easy process.

The Church is TRUE. I know that. And its leaders are truly inspired.

By the way- I know your dad. He was my Stake President when I was attending graduate school in Boulder, Colorado.

Cordially,

Sterling's comment in reply:
I did not loose the Spirit when I was excommunicated.  "The Church" is those who repent and come to Christ -- who is the sure foundation.

Dear Sterling,

I wholeheartedly support your reconciliation undertaking and the objective. While I'm not currently interested in joining your new discussion group, I am interested in your undertaking and its results.

I assume you'll let us know when you're rebaptized, etc.

I've stayed within the fold, although not terribly active, on the impression/sense that someday there will be a role and purpose for my remaining a member and I'll be of use to the Lord and able to teach/help other members. At the present time, my current understanding is of most use to members.

Well, God Speed, my friend.
