Burt Rutan's Overbalance Water Wheel

Subject: if not from me, take it from him!
Burt Rutan, the famous aeronautical engineer designed his amazing home around his overbalancing
wheel. The November 1989 issue of Popular Science started a firestorm of controversy over the
candid, in home interview of Rutan. Burt was criticized by physicists, some of whom wrote in to
complain that the article really had their students curious, (to say the least!) Burt
steadfastly refused to tell them much about the wheel but made cryptic allusions to it's success
(and why it is strictly not perpetual...the water evaporates and must eventually be replaced for
continued operation in an open environment). It would not be impossible to duplicate his wheel
although it would be much more time consuming and expensive than working out a classically
mechanical equivalent which is what mine really is. (without all the math) I was fortunate enough to
"see" mine in completed form just as one has a daydream. Mine is the first gravity
wheel I have ever built. So, there you have it.
GOD bless,
