You stated "the car's axle bearing had blown out on the left
rear. He reported he was doing about 96 when it broke. One Delorean owner, who had
towed his own car over to the track, and was watching the test was heard to say that this axle
bearing problem was common with Deloreans. (Can anyone confirm this?)."
I can - I sold three rear axle bearings in the last 2 weeks.
They are not really a weak point, but these cars are 21 years old, and the bearings are starting
to fail. They are a sealed bearing with no way of being lubed, only replaced.
Very interesting story, by the way. I tried posting this
response on the Yahoo site, but for some reason they weren't recognizing my e-mail address and
wouldn't let me in.
