State of Tennessee Commencing Probe on TilleyMarch 4, 2003 by Sterling D. Allan Tennessee's Department of Commerce and Insurance (TDCI), the state equivalent of the Federal Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has assigned investigators and is commencing a full-scale investigation into the Tilley Foundation. Whistleblower, Walter Webb, a former board member of the Tilley Foundation, spent two hours today with three attorneys from the state's investigative office, including the chief investigator and the chief of enforcement. He provided them with documentation of various aspect of Tilley's fraudulent activities, as presented in previous reports by Greater Things News Service. In other related news, the investigative team from Channel 4 of Nashville is slated to air yet more coverage of the Tilley Foundation's fraudulent dealings. WSMV I-Team lead investigator, Nancy Amons, has received emails from all over the world as a result of their recent two-part series on Tilley. When asked why more insiders from the Tilley Foundation do not come forward, it was speculated that they are "scared to death of the Tilley secrecy agreement." Tilley is quick to threaten a lawsuit. Another observer suggested: "Perhaps they are embarrassed to have been part of this scheme and don't want to admit it." PM Update More info on Tilley. He has sold one of his vehicles. A security guard who drives Tilley around said that today he was "tying up some loose ends." [Getting ready to skip town?] Walter Webb reports that with all the documentation he has sent out to the various investors, not one of them has come to him to say thanks, or even to contest his claims. Not one. Many of them are people he helped sign up in the first place. The denial and/or fear is deeply seated. The Tilley Foundation website still has not been updated since Jan. 25, 2003 when this coverage of his fraud began. Apparently his webmaster has opted out.
