Carl requested that I postpone announcement of the 10 electric
cars to be fitted with his charger until after the demo event within 30 days.
I did not receive his request until Sunday around noon, two days
after he made it, having left for events surrounding my wife's sister's wedding just after
posting the authorized announcement, and not getting to my email until around noon on Sunday.
This was the first matter to which I attended. I removed the
announcement from the site and from the discussion board as he requested.
I am now informing this list (tilley_fans@yahoogroups.com).
I should have done it yesterday as well. My apologies to the Tilleys for that
delay. I meant to, but was distracted with the stack of material in my inbox.
Unfortunately, Carl Tilley did not realize I was gone, and when
his request was not immediately granted for me to not post this (which I had already done
prior to leaving), he apparently thought I was being belligerent, and he then posted an
unsavory statement on his website regarding this announcement, saying it was not authorized in
any way, which is not true.
I've saved a copy
of that page for archive purposes.
I have a separate personal witness that Carl gave us the
green light to announce this. Fred
Smart was with me on the phone on Sept. 13 at the time I called Carl the first time
to inquire about this. The three of us were in a conference call. You may phone
Fred to verify that Carl gave us permission to make this announcement.
Fred may be reached at 1-888-606-9379.
Note that in the announcement I did not say I was authorized by
the Tilley Foundation to post the announcement, but that Carl had given me permission
directly. There is a difference. He was apparently acting unilaterally prior to
consulting others of the Tilley Foundation. I meant to ask him about this, but was in a
hurry to leave for the wedding activities, so that important detail was omitted.
The email message below from Carl is also evidence that we had had
a conversation to this effect, but that he later changed his mind (after I had left for the
wedding activities).
I realize that my pursuit of a personal loan immediately on the
heels of this announcement Friday evening was bad timing. I do indeed have several
other related technologies in which I am directly involved, that need my attention. Two
trusted associates are in process of fulfilling this request.
Our website http://www.greaterthings.com/News/Tilley
, from the beginning, has stated that we are not officially connected with the Tilley
Foundation. Such a statement is found in the header and footer on each page of the
site. We aim to provide independent coverage.
In retrospect, I can see that it would have been inappropriate for
us to serve the role of collecting applications for the 10 EV charger fittings, for that would
have moved us into an official relationship. This should be done by the Tilley
Foundation, from their website.
Our "invest"
page makes it very clear from the beginning, that we are not affiliated with the Tilley
Foundation, and that they are not seeking investment funds, but that we are involved in
several projects involving related technologies, and that we are looking for investors willing
to use a special placement program ...
Also, on the "waiting
list" page where we collect information from people interested in obtaining a related
device, we make it clear that we do not represent the Tilley Foundation and that they do not
intend themselves to sell any devices, but that there are several other related technologies
soon to manifest, and that people can get on a waiting list for those.
I hope the Tilley Foundation will see that no harm was intended,
and that they will remove their unsavory comments, which favor will be reciprocated by my
removing this page from our site.
Until then, we need to defend our good name from the comments that
now appear on the Tilley Foundation website, which amount to slander because of their known
inaccuracy.

Please hold off any posting of this until after the test run in
about 30 days.

Subject: FLASH: 10 Existing EVs to convert to Tilley charger -- Tentatively approved
by Carl Tilley
Summary: Tilley willing to beta test endless charger unit for electric vehicles.
Great, great news!
I've been on the phone this evening with Carl Tilley in conjunction with my associate,
Fred Smart.
Fred came up with the idea of taking a few existing electric vehicles and slapping
Tilley's charger on them as part of spreading out the number of demo units in operation.
Carl has tentatively agreed to do this -- after the second demo of his car at the speedway
in 30 days or so. But he doesn't want to be inundated with requests directly to
him on this matter.
Carl said that adding one of his charger units could be done in 45 minutes, if the
electric car has a double shaft. He is not interested in working with hybrids.
Also, the vehicle needs to be in good condition.
The car he would especially like to apply this to is the Toyota all-electric car he
recently heard about, which apparently is only available in California; and may only be
available under lease terms. The vehicle would need to be owned outright before any
of these kinds of modifications could be applied.
One caveat that Carl emphasized is that the charger unit must not be tampered with in any
way. It will be sealed; and if the seal is broken, then "there will be hell to
pay."
We at
http://www.greaterthings.com/News/Tilley/
are going to create a form people can fill out to apply to have their electric car be one
of these first ten demo units. We would then send the results of this form to him,
along with our recommendations, at which point he/they can decide who they would like
to accept for this beta testing phase.
Whoever is chosen will, of course, be placed under non-disclosure contract; and will be
expected to collect data from their operation; and they will be expected to be a witness
of the test for the public (though private information will not be expected to be divulged
publicly).
Again, this is in the brainstorming phase, so any or all of this is subject to change.
Still, I thought you would like to know what is brewing. Carl said I could go ahead
and mention this (emphasizing that he doesn't want to be contacted by people directly
about this, as he is already inundated with email).
Fred Smart can be reached at 1-888-606-9379.
If you would like to submit your approval of this idea, or other comments, I've created a
thread on the free-for-all discussion board specifically to address this.
I'm leaving for my wife's sisters' wedding activities tonight and tomorrow, so I'll not be
able to elaborate further until after then. But you can post to that public thread
if you would like to weigh in.
Stay tuned.
Sincerely,
Sterling D. Allan
