I Will Cut Off Their Chariots

Here's something to think about in this day of threats poised by Y2K and EMP.

Consider the following prophecy:

"I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots: and I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds."  (Micah 5:10,11.)

This is done in the day that "the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beast of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver."  (Micah 5:8.)

Many of you will recognize these verses as being quoted nearly verbatim in III Nephi 21 by the Savior in reference to the destructions in the latter-days.

I think it is interesting to ponder the following point.  Whatever the cause, whether it be Y2K, nuclear attack, terrorist sabotage, EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse), this prophecy specifically states that there will be and end to the "horses," or means of transportation. 

That one point alone should be enough to stop anyone cold in their tracks.  We are headed for hard times.  Yes, our society is very dependent on the computer, but far more so on transportation.  What happens when transportation is severed.   "I will cut off their horses."

In other words, the wise would do well to prepare themselves in every way for the day of tribulation that is coming to sanctify the righteous and destroy the wicked.  The remedy is to turn to the Lord, who will inspire you as to what you yourself can do to best prepare, temporally, spiritually, emotionally, socially, in every way for what you personally will be required to endure.
