May 22 Wedding Foretold in the Dictionary

Greater Things Newsletter #24 -- 5/20/99

Hello again,

I found something quite amazing this morning, and I just had to write it up and tell you about it.

As you know, I'm getting married to Cheri Moon this Saturday, May 22, 1999.

Last night before going to bed, for the heck of it I looked up page 522 (May 22) in my huge Webster's III dictionary. The heading for the page is "couple."

That fits.

I had seen that before and had marked the page, but had not recorded it in the "Sterling and Cheri Engaged" write-up. I made a note to do so when I got up in the morning.

Then this morning while I was writing this up, I thought I would look up page 522 in another dictionary I use -- one that has been around our house since I was a child.   The heading for that page was "matrimony."

That fits too!

Then I checked one other dictionary I have kicking around, and the first word on that page was "permanent magnets."

It turns out that there are nearly three dozen words on these three pages 522 which apply to our pending wedding.  This includes significant commentary about how Cheri and I are not obtaining a marriage license from the state, for we believe the extent of their jurisdiction has gone too far in usurping the position which God should have as our ultimate sovereign.

Anyway, I found lots of stuff and wrote it up, appending it to the "Sterling + Cheri = Engaged" document.  Now it is called "Sterling and Cheri's Wedding Foretold in the Dictionaries."

The new stuff is toward the end, under the last main heading, "Pages 522 (May 22) in Webster's Dictionaries."

Sincerely,

Sterling D. Allan
