Hello friends of Greater Things,

Here's an idea:  publish an entire web site on CD, along with supplemental files and documents.  That is precisely what we are now doing.  It is a relatively simple process.  (1) Publish the site to the hard drive (easy); (2) Copy the other files to be included (e.g. WordPerfect documents of the original work); (3) Copy a few music wav and midi files for click and play; (4) Burn these onto a CD; (5) mail them to you.

Do you know what the difference is between running a web site off of your computer rather than the Internet?  Were talking speed.  Documents load almost instantaneously. Click, and flash, there it is.  Even huge graphics load instantaneously.  The occasional Java stuff slows it down just a tad only.  And if you run into a link that does not work and you want to see that document, just go to the CD directory, click, and there it is, quick as a flash in your browser.  No such thing as download.  Everything is on the disc, which holds up to 600 megs of info.

All those files I haven't had time yet to upload to the web site can be included very easily (at least the "public domain" ones!).

I've creatd a new page web site where you can go to read more about this new release, including an outline of the contents, and where you can order. $10.00 is quite a deal for such a large collection of invaluable material.

Isn't this an incredibly great and terrible time in which we live! The opportunities for good are so abundant, yet wickedness seems to find no bounds either. This is quite a struggle in which we are engaged. The other day I added the following preface to the entry page to the web site (where I also added a newly composed song -- Fanfare II. Fanfare I is on the home page.):

"To achieve the greatest prosperity and harmony, we need to balance the branching of intellectual development with the spreading of spiritual roots, or we will fall.  This is as true of individuals as it is of society as a whole."

That is how the web site begins.  Its purpose is to help strengthen those roots in Christ.  I hope you will find it in your hearts this holiday season, in which celebrate our Lord, to share this gift of treasures from the Word with someone you love.

Sincerely, your brother in Christ,

Sterling D. Allan

All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
   Second, it is violently opposed; and
   Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
