Loren,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about President Hinckley.

First let me share in your positive review of President Hinckley. I too
have been very impressed with him as a man and as a leader in the LDS
Church. There are many attributes he possesses which are highly
commendable. His stamina is astonishing for one his age. At 90 he has the
vigor of a 70-year-old.

I'm going to be attending my paternal grandmother's funeral tomorrow, with a
viewing this evening. She is but four months different in age, but what a
difference in vigor.

While I honor my grandmother for the many wonderful things she did for her
family and for me, her life and accomplishments are incomparable to those of
President Gordon B. Hinckley's. While she was watching soap operas each
afternoon, President Hinckley was traveling the globe dedicating temples,
speaking to saints, writing talks, giving interviews, fully devoting his
energies to the cause of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As for his messages, I too have been blessed greatly by his counsel. My
spiritual awaking to the garbage on Television and in Movies and in songs
and such comes in part because of a talk I read of his while on my mission
to Japan in 1983.

He does inspire faith. He does bear witness of Jesus Christ and point
people toward our Savior. He does warn about various pitfalls in society,
such as pornography, abuse, unrighteous dominion of husbands, the evils of
alcohol and tobacco, dangers of unbridled passions.

Furthermore, he has been valiant in helping to spread the Book of Mormon to
the ends of the earth, opening up countries and being a fundamental part of
sending out hundreds of thousands of missionaries (probably approaching one
million through the duration of his leadership from the time of being called
as an apostle).

Yes indeed, in many regards he is a wonderful earthly captain of the Church.

I take my hat off to him and salute him for his vigor, his courage, his wit,
his charm, his enormous talent, as well as his humanness that is endearing.

So considering all of this, why would I write what I wrote in the "Man of
Sin Revealed"?
www.greaterthings.com/Books/ManofSin/
Yes, in that document I assert with many different evidences that President
Gordon B. Hinckley is lined up to fulfill the prophecy spoken of in II
Thessalonians 2 about the man of sin, the son of perdition, sitting in the
temple of God, saying he is God, and Christ allowing him to do so, until he
is revealed and removed.

How could I make such an assertion about a man of such valor as President
Gordon B. Hinckley?

It boils down to this one thing. The word "hinder," which is right next to
"Hinckley" alphabetically spelled in English.

Recently I sent a post in reply to a wonderful treaties by Lynn Ridenhour
about how the error of Saul, though the Lord's anointed, was to hinder David
and his outcasts, persecuting them when he should have rejoiced to have such
a valiant and faithful successor in the wings.

Though he has so many wonderful qualities, President Hinckley has indeed
stood as an impediment to the zealous warriors in Zion. Rather than
succoring them and lifting them up, he has excommunicated them. (Yes it is
the Stake Presidents and Bishops who do the actual deed, but he has upheld
the decisions as appeals have been made; and I would not be surprised that
some cases are instigated in Salt Lake headquarters, not locally as the
priesthood manual dictates.)

It is the story of the kingmen in the book of Alma. Those who are in the
trenches fighting most valiantly for Zion and against Satan's New World
Order are being hindered by the Church rather than helped.

Even on a spiritual playing field, those who are advancing in the gifts of
the Spirit very often find themselves persecuted by the Church rather than
honored and facilitated in the ministry God has given to them.

Contrast this with Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind, who said, "greater
things than these shall ye do." He wasn't threatened by the idea that
others could surpass him.

In my excommunication hearing, for example, the high counselors who sat to
judge my case were completely aghast that I could even come close to
thinking that I might have something more important to say than what the
Brethren in Salt Lake had to say. (Regarding my attempt to reach the podium
during Oct. 1992 general conference. The talk I had prepared to give is
posted at
www.greaterthings.com/Essays/TALK-Law&Word.htm )
The talk turns out to be chuck full of prophetic/polemical chiasms and
parallels (also posted to the site).

Others have experiences similar to mine that they could share.

President Hinckley and his associates were ordained to prepare the bride for
the bridegroom, not to take His place in the eyes of the people.

Hence they seek to take the kingdom of our God and his Christ. Hence they
serve the role of a son of perdition.

Its the same thing the Jewish leaders did, except today's leaders have
greater accountability -- more light and knowledge than had the Jews against
which to sin.

Matthew 21 and the Joseph Smith Translation elaboration of 10 additional
verses shows very clearly that the Gentile husbandmen are prophesied to do
the same thing the Jewish husbandmen did. It is all part of the great and
marvelous work of the Lord. The strange act. The stone which the builders
rejected, the same is become the headstone of their corner. This is the
Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.
"Wherefore whosoever [the Jews] shall fall on this stone [Jesus Christ]
shall be broken, but on whomsoever [Gentiles] it [Davidic Servant Messianic
ministry of the Father] shall fall, shall be ground to powder [Gentiles
trodden under feet by the not-yet-converted Israel remnant armies such as
Russia, China, South American Marxists, etc; "behold I am he that doeth it,"
the Lord says in III Ne. 20]"

The Jews' crucifixion of the Savior served the Lord's eternal purposes. So
too will the Mormon's marring of the Davidic servant serve the Lord's
eternal purposes.

After the treading down will come a miraculous deliverance of a remnant by
the power of God, with his people literally walking through the fires which
the enemy unleashes on them only to destroy themselves. This purified
remnant then goes to the center place of Zion at which point they will have
their Pentecost-parallel (but on the next quantum level) Adam On Diaman
conference. From there the 144,000 high priest ordained by angels go forth
to the nations of the earth gathering as many as will to the church of the
firstborn -- heaven on earth.

The stone which was rejected will become the headstone of their corner,
first by the remnant in the center place of Zion and then by the Jews in
Jerusalem.

The first shall be last and the last shall be first.

So yes, I believe Gordon B. Hinckley is a very wonderful man. That is what
makes the strong delusion all the stronger. In this day that we all are to
become prophets, it is so easy to believe the lie set forth in Mormon
tradition to look to just one man as the prophet -- thus hindering us in our
progression. Those who do come out of her and become prophets are the
remnant who will redeem Zion. And the persecution they receive at the hand
of the Saul ministry of the current leadership will only help to strengthen
them in their faith and courage to do a mighty work for the Lord.

Sincerely,

Sterling D. Allan

As a lurker on this email list, thought I would give a different
perspective. I have heard less than full devotion to Pres. Hinkley with
even some indirect or even direct implications that he is the anti-Christ or
the man of evil to be revealed in the last days. While I have to admit that
I feel a kind of "all's well in Zion" sense from him at times, he is hardly
the anti-Christ. I had the opportunity to hear him speak when Janet Reno
was guest at the Freedom Festival. He didn't mince words about the
wickedness in our country and that we had forgotten God. This was not a man
trying to please the NWO or anybody else other than the Lord.
My first exposure to him came when I was in the LTM and his son, Clark was
my Spanish teacher. Clark had just returned from Spain where he had opened
the country to the gospel, having transferred there from Argentina. Clark
was an average kind of RM but he seemed to me to be full of a love of the
gospel with a high degree of devotion. He didn't talk about his dad much at
that time. After returning from my mission, I got a seasonal Christmas job
with Deseret Book and was able to deliver gifts all over the valley, many to
general authorities. One of the people on my list was Pres. Hinkley and I
remember going up to his house and noticing how modest and humble it was.
His wife answered the door and she was very sweet and appreciative of my
coming to their house. Many years later, I was able to attend a fireside
where Clark Hinkley spoke about his dad. One of the many things he said
about his dad was that he was a real tightwad. Very conservative
financially. He fixed everything himself and never hired a handyman. He
said that his dad always looked for bargains and one time bought a kitchen
sink on sale with the idea of using it when he remodeled their kitchen. It
sat in their garage for years until he finally got around to using it. I
don't know about you, but this just doesn't seem like a man who is
ostentacious and likes to be showy with the church's money. I believe for
him to spend the millions on the new conference arena had to be because of
inspiration. He has made many comments about the extreme care he takes
with the widow's mite and he is very sensitive to the sacrifice being made
by impoverished members in other countries. Pres. Hinkley revels in his
pioneer ancestry and loves to talk about their sacred sacrifices. He is
grounded in that pioneer ancestry and I believe that also grounds him with
the Lord. While I may not be as moved by him as I am by Pres. Benson, I
believe he is the Lord's annointed as was Pres. Benson. I know these
comments are not what most of this list wants to hear but hopefully you are
honest in heart enough to consider them as possibly being true.

I will second everything that Loren said concerning Gordon B. Hinckley as a
man of God.
