Sterling,
I assume you mean when you say "Blayne's words will prove true in reverse"
judgment based on subjective history? Correct me if I am wrong?
My point is that all the Brigham bashing is based on innuendo emotion and zero evidence
to support it. The twisted and ridiculous statements I have heard here touted as if they
were proof positive is a joke!
Brigham could be all the things he has been accused of, the point is no one knows
and their certainly is little if any evidence to support such feelings and what little
their is, is very shaky. And contrarily there is much evidence that he was just the
opposite in spite of his mistakes.
John Dee Lee's testimony is probably the best evidence for any of this but its one mans
opinion nothing to corroborate it. Let those who think they know so certainly post
their data then and lets see if there is any evidence or if their just projecting their
unsubstantiated feelings into the whole thing?
I have quite an archive of history I have many of the Journals of early brethren from
before they were published and there unedited, I have the Ehat/ Cook stuff unedited, and
much of the Quinn stuff before any of it was published. I have heard people use Quinn here
as a reference and quote his conclusions as references but not the actual reference. I
have the unedited version of Wilford Woodruff journal, and William Clayton's unedited
journal etc. etc. I don't say this to impress anyone only to show I have put in the time
and years to study and research history and in years of doing so there is nothing
substantial to condemn Brigham just a few sour grape testimonies.
Could it all be covered up? Sure it could but the point is its speculation theirs no
evidence to support such a cover up and the unsubstantiated bashing tends to lend support
to Brigham's mission and many of his prophecies.
As I read of him weeping when he saw some of the Willie and Martin Handcart company I
felt his compassion in my soul. As I read of one of his wives feeling neglected who went
to complain to him and then she describes the the light of Christ she saw in him and the
glow about him I felt it and on and on the list could go.
All I am saying is cut the unsubstantiated quoting as if its real history. If you hate
Brigham or think he is evil fine but if your going to tout your feelings as evidence then
be prepared to back it up!
It just seems that it continues on Joseph is fallen, Brigham is evil etc. etc. Who the
hell made any of you their judges especially after what they did contributed to where you
are now. It brings to mind a revelation I received a few years ago here's the pertinent
part:
"for what thank they for the foundations that were laid that
they may build. They are as the children who grow up and prosper in the land and despise
there Mother and Father who laid the foundations of their prosperity. They do not honor
the root from which they sprang but lay the axe to it,"
Love Blayne
