Hi Sterling,
Thanks for the reply. My full name is Don LaMar Porter. I grew up in Lyman, Wyoming,
raised in the LDS Chruch, did all the church things, mission, married in the Temple etc.
etc. I did a lot of teaching in the church Elders Quorum etc. Was in the Tabernacle Choir
for 3 1/2 years before getting exed.
My "sins" were over doctrine...plural marriage...Adam-God etc. The final blow
(so to speak) was when the Stake President wanted to know if I supported Spencer W.
Kimball as prophet, seer, and revelator, my answer was: "I support him in that which
he claims to be himself." He said what do you mean by that.
I said: "Does Spencer W. Kimball himself claim to be a prophet ,seer, and
revelator." The Stake Pres. said: "well he don't have to." And I said: Well
then I don't either." They took my Tab. Choir ID badge, then said they would let me
know what their decission would be. I already knew when they took my ID what they were
going to do. I was ready though, it was like being freed from quick sand. I have a website
but it is of little consequence, as there are only 5 0r 6 posts on it, and have had no
visitors in a year, so haven't spent very much time there...too busy with other things.
You have a pretty good bond fire going on your site. I have spent some time in the past
on Lynn Pipkins site. Not any on his new one he has going now. I like your positions on a
lot of things...I agree that you have to point out the negative at times, otherwise people
(especially those in the Church) go on thinking that the "brethren" are near
perfect, and that apostasy is impossible in these last days. I have notice that Hartman
Rictor has been moved to the back ground. I am sure it is because of his close association
with Bo Gritz. I'm sure they have stifled that too. You never hear much about Marion Hanks
either. Oh well, it's fun to see them watching each other, like ravenous wolves, but
pretending like all is well. Mark really enjoys hammering on Joseph, but sure doesn't like
getting it dished back. I think you will find some thins in my EL paper that aren't in the
normal Adam-God books that are around. It was my first attempt at writting something, so
there are punctuation errors, but at least I didn't have to take dumbell English when I
attended BYU. Got in three years, but did not graduate. Hope things are going well for
you, catch ya later.
Sincerely, LaMar
(go by Don on your website)
