Sterling,

In going over your commentary on Isaiah 28 and II Ne. 28 parallels, I feel to comment on it. Firstly, I wonder if you aren't kicking against the pricks? You set forth that the LDS church is the Great and Abominable. Certainly the Church is in a stage of apostasy, and certainly many Church members and leaders may be guilty of the sin of pride and bedrunk with authority and power. And the Lord's vessel will certainly will be cleansed for its corporate and private sins.

But the Great and Abominable is described as the "Whore of all the earth". Wouldn't Satan's political organization, viz: communism, fascism, and other isms that murder and plunder and take away freedom among all the nations of the earth, be classified as Satan's great and abominable? They are more powerful, and in the end God will destroy Satan's dominion of these organizations.

"But behold, that great and abominable church, the whore of all the earth, must tumble to the earth, and great must be the fall thereof. For the kingdom of the devil must shake, and they which belong to it must needs be stirred up unto repentance, or the devil will grasp them with his everlasting chains, and they be stirred up to anger, and perish." (2Ne. 28:18,19.)

In 1 Nephi 14:9-12--

"And it came to pass that he said unto me: Look, and behold that great and abominable church, which is the mother of abominations, whose founder is the devil. And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth. And it came to pass that I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, and its numbers were few, because of the wickedness and abominations of the whore who sat upon many waters; nevertheless, I beheld that the church of the Lamb , who were the saints of God, were also upon all the face of the earth ;and their numbers were small, because of the wickedness of the great whore whom I saw."

I contend that the Great and Abominable Church is a worldwide organization that has much more power than the Mormon church. The BofM says there are save two churches only, the church of God and the church of the Devil. Two organizations. Either churches belong to the one or the other, but none of these organizations are great enough of themselves to be classified as the whore of all the earth, if you ask me. Many organizations combine to make the Great and Abominable Church. And many religions will also make up the Church of the Lamb of God, containing any who are true saints. The scriptures tell us the Anti-Christ, or Satan's organization, will make war on the saints--anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and follows Him.

The Mormon's church's foundation was Jesus Christ, not the Devil. The church can join itself to the Church of the Devil, or even help it along, but it's founder was Jesus Christ. The Mormon church is certainly not the "mother of Abominations". We may be more condemned because we have been given more light, like you say.

You say that the drunkards of Ephraim are the great and abominable, because they have "contributed the most to its success." I don't believe that. What about the Illuminati, the Bilderburgers, The Trilateral Commission, the big money-mongers, those who have sold their souls for money and world dominion? Our leaders may be selling themselves for praise and world acceptance, but I don't believe they are deliberately aiming to build up Satan's kingdom. Just trying to sit on the fence and not make waves. At the time of Nephi and Isaiah, they had no other word for an organization than "church" The Mormon church, or the Catholic church are certainly not any more the Great and Abominable, than the world organizations who have murdered and plundered and enslaved millions.

Yes, I believe the Church has contributed somewhat to the build up of that organization that seeks to enslave the world, either wittingly or not, by their silence and becoming salt that has lost its savor. Yet, the Mormon church is still the Lord's organization, and it does further His work, via the great missionary program which does deliver the milk of the gospel to so many who would not be gathered into the gospel net otherwise.

Well, anyway, just some thoughts. I'm concerned that you may have it in for the church so much that you find things to build your case against it. I believe you have discovered much truth, but something is not quite right here. Take Care!

J.,

Thanks for taking the time to express your comments on the Great & Abom. Church.

You are right about it being a large conglomerate of people, organizations, philosophies which are seeking to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries, establishing Satan's kingdom on earth.

The reason I am pointing the finger of greatest culpability for its success at the Mormon church is because we were supposed to stop it. We have failed to live up to our mission. Hence it thrives. So its existence is our fault. Hence we who should have stopped it but instead have passively allowed it to thrive, even lending it our own support (meager though it may be directly), are the most responsible for its existence.

That is why the Drunkards of Ephraim are equated by the Lord as being part of the Great and Abominable Church. They, more than any other people on earth, could have stood in the gap to stop it, but they didn't.

Who is more responsible for a crime? the child who steals the candy, or the mother who stands by and watches him do it without stopping him?

To think that we couldn't have made that much difference is to deny our religion and the power of the gospel and of the priesthood. Who is more powerful: God, or Satan?

Whose kingdom will ultimately prevail? God's. So why are we so limp while Satan has his heyday? We're scared. We give lip service to our religion, but don't dare put on strength and stand in defiance of the beast. That was our destiny. But instead we've become as salt that has lost its savor.

But, alas, all this is by plan. God knew we wouldn't stand up to the challenge. He knew we would falter. He knew many would shirk. He knew we would therefore come under Satan's bondage. He knew the New World Order would kick our butts.

But he also knows that when we are groveling in our concentration camps and fallout shelters, that we will realize the folly of our way and finally turn to him, fully and completely. Then will emerge from the ashes a giant. The remnant who awake and put on strength will then be an impenetrable force for righteousness. Satan's kingdom will fall -- and all they who have aligned themselves with it. The sword of their own hands will fall upon their own heads, while God's saints walk through the fire -- saved by the fire! God's miraculous victory will show that yes he is the Almighty God. The weak-kneed saints will finally stand tall with the Lord. The New Jerusalem will be established and none but the righteous will go there, for all others will be afraid of the saints. No tank, no fighter jet, no nuclear bomb, no weapon arrayed against them will prosper.

So do I have it in for the Church? Yes, I do. I am sickened at how they are shirking in their divine destiny to stand with courage with the Lord. Their commission is not just to spread the gospel but to also establish God's government on the earth.

Those who finally realize their error and repent will be numbered among the remnant who will inherit Zion. All others will be cut off from among the people. You cannot stand with Satan and think the Lord will deliver you.

Sincerely,

Sterling D. Allan

Sterling,

Thank you for the quick reply. As always, very powerful and convincing. I see what you mean, although I pull back from the full implication of what you are saying, as I don't want to be part of the condemnation in store for those who have shirked their duty, nor to think I belong to an organization that helped hang us.

I always thought one could judge a tree by its fruit. But I guess if the fruit could have been so much more glorious and sweet than it is....

Keep up the fight!

Je.***,

Remember that within the Church both elements coexist at present. The wheat and the tares grow side by side. The wise virgins and the foolish virgins together sleep. What they do when they awake as the call goes forth is what delineates them. Are their lamps trimmed and burning because of their preparation or have their lights gone out?

Within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may be found both the tares who are as salt that has lost its savor as well as the wheat who are the remnant who put on strength in the Lord. Within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may be found both those who belong to the Great and Abominable Church as well as those who belong to the Church of Christ.

Remember what the Joseph Smith Translation says about sequence. The wheat are gathered out first, then the tares are left in bundles to be burned.

There will come an entire separation.

Sincerely,

Sterling

Sterling,

It's funny. [My husband] just said the same things you said about there being those in the church who are of the Great and Abominable as well as those outside.

Pretty common sense once you think about it?
