Hearken ye ends of the earth to the great and marvelous work coming forth among the children of men, which has been kept concealed in a record long held among the people of my church, saith the voice of him who dwells on high.

.
v1 A great and marvelous work v1 Behold, there shall be a record v1 Hearken,
.
is about to come forth kept [Omission]
.
among the children of men. among you; O ye people of my church,

Behold, I am God, whose eyes are upon all men; yea, verily I say, In this record shall I call my servant: a seer, a translator, a prophet, an apostle of Jesus Christ.

.
v2 Behold, I am God:

and in it thou shalt be called

a saith the voice
. . b of him who dwells on high,
. . b and whose eyes are upon all men;
a yea, verily I say:

Therefore give heed unto my word which I shall cause him to bring forth, yea hearken and listen together, ye people from afar and ye that are upon the islands of the sea; for my word is quick and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword, to the dividing asunder of both joints and marrow.

.
a give heed to my word,
. . b which is quick and powerful,
. . . . c sharper than a two-edged sword,
. . . . c to the dividing asunder
. . b of both joints and marrow;
a therefore give heed unto my word.

a seer,

a translator,

a prophet,

an apostle

of Jesus Christ,

a Hearken

. . . . . . d ye people from afar;

. . . . . . d and ye that are upon the islands of the sea,

a listen together.

For behold, the field is white, and verily the voice of the Lord is unto all men, and there is none to escape the harvest.

.
v3 Behold, the field is white an elder of the church
v2 For verily the voice of the Lord is unto all men,

Therefore, in this work of the harvest shall my servant be called an elder of the church.

.
already to harvest; and there is none to escape;

Yea, whoso desireth to reap let him thrust in his sickle with his might, that in this reaping there be no eye that shall not see, neither ear that shall not hear, neither heart that shall not be penetrated, therefore reap while the day lasts.

.
$ therefore, whoso desireth to reap $ and there is no eye that shall not see,
.
$ let him thrust in his sickle with his might, $ neither ear that shall not hear,
.
$ and reap while the day lasts, $ neither heart that shall not be penetrated.

And the rebellious shall be pierced with much sorrow; for their iniquities and secret acts shall be revealed and spoken upon the housetops; While he that thrusteth in his sickle, though he may sorrow for the rebellious, will nevertheless treasure up for his soul everlasting salvation in the kingdom of God. And he shall also be called an elder of the church.

.
that he v3 And the rebellious

.
everlasting salvation in the kingdom of God.

a for their iniquities
. . b shall be spoken upon the housetops,
a and their secret acts
. . b shall be revealed.

Yea, whosoever will thrust in his sickle and reap, opening his mouth with the voice of warning unto all people, the same is my disciple whom I have chosen: called of God in these last days through the will of God the Father;

.
v4 Yea, whosoever will thrust in his sickle v4 And the voice of warning
.
and reap, shall be unto all people,
.
the same by the mouths of my disciples,

And they shall go forth according to the grace of your Lord Jesus Christ, and none shall stay them.

.
is called of God.

$ through the will of God the Father,
$ and the grace of your Lord Jesus Christ,
a whom I have chosen
. . b in these last days.
. . b v5 And they shall go forth
a and none shall stay them,

Therefore, if you will ask of me you shall receive, being inspired of the Holy Ghost; yea, if you will knock it shall be opened unto you; for verily, I the Lord myself will command you.

.
a v5 Therefore, if you will ask of me
. . b you shall receive;
a if you will knock
. . b it shall be opened unto you.

v2 Being inspired

Now as you have asked, behold, I say unto you: This is mine authority, and the authority of you, my servants; this is the foundation to lay, and my preface unto the book of which I have spoken;

Wherefore, seek not for riches, O ye people, but fear and tremble before the Lord -- that ye might receive the riches of the most holy faith;

Yea, seek for the wisdom that I the Lord have decreed in my word; and, behold, the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto you; yea, verily they shall all be fulfilled upon you.

.

but for wisdom;

for what I the Lord have decreed in them

.

and, behold, the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto you,

And verily I say unto you, that they who go forth, bearing these tidings unto the inhabitants of the earth shall be made rich; for they shall be sealed up unto eternal life; and to them is power given to seal both on earth and in heaven. Behold, he that hath eternal life is rich.

.

$ even as you desire of me so it shall be done unto you;

$ v10 Unto the day when the Lord shall come to recompense unto every man according to his work,

Instead of receiving enlightenment of their minds, they chose images in the likeness of the world. v34 And again, verily I say unto you, O inhabitants of the earth: I the Lord am willing to make these things known

.

in your heart

unto all flesh;

For I am no respecter of persons, and will that all men shall know, he being the first until the time cometh--yea, verily that day speedily cometh; the hour is not yet, but it nigh at hand--when peace shall be taken from the earth, and the devil shall have power over his own dominion, which is when in my wisdom that you, verily you, shall go forth.

.
until the time

he being the first

v35 For I am no respecter of persons, and will that all men shall know that

$ the day speedily cometh;
$ the hour is not yet,
$ but is nigh at hand,

.
which is my wisdom that you shall go forth.

unto you,

$ when peace shall be taken from the earth,

[See D&C 133:58; Rev. 11:5,6.]

$ and the devil shall have power over his own dominion.

Behold, I speak unto all who have good desires, even you who are my saints over whom I the Lord shall have power.

.

v27 Behold, I speak unto all who have good desires,

that you

v36 And also the Lord shall have power over his saints,

[See 1 Ne. 14:13-15.]

And I shall reign in the midst of all who have thrust in their sickle, that they might be elders to reap when I shall come down in judgment upon Idumea, or the world.

and shall come down in judgment upon Idumea, or the world.

Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. This is my church; for I am the true and faithful one, who has given these commandments for you to search.

.

v28 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

unto this church of Christ,

v37 Search these commandments, for they are true and faithful,

And the prophecies and promises which are in them witness that I am the life and the light of the world.

.

I am the life and light of the world.

and the prophecies and promises which are in them

I am the same God, yesterday, today, and forever. What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, bearing my name.

.

v29 I am the same

bearing my name--

a shall all be fulfilled.

. . . . c and though the heavens
. . . . c and the earth
. . . . . . d pass away,
. . b my word
. . . . . . d shall not pass away,
a but shall all be fulfilled,

I am the same who came unto mine own, by my own voice, and mine own received me not; and, when I called again there was none of you to answer; yet my arm was not shortened at all that I could not redeem, neither my power to deliver. (D&C 133:67)

.

$ who came unto mine own

v12 And the first preacher

$ whether by mine own voice

For verily, I come again the second time unto mine own, even those of this church, by the voice of the first preacher, and again mine own receive me not; for they receive not the voice of my servant: It is the same.

.

$ and mine own

of this church

$ or by the voice of my servants,

.
received me not; it is the same.

[See D&C 133:66,67 = Isa. 49:2 = 2 Ne. 7:2; 2 Ne. 8:18-20 = Isa. 50:18-20; Ezk. 22:30; Isa. 59:16; 66:4; 41:28; 65:12; 42:22; 54:4; JST-Ps. 14:3; Jer. 30:17; 35:17; D&C 10:57; Ps. 69:20; Job 5:1; Zeph. 3:6.]

[See 3 Ne. 28:34; 21:11.]

Nevertheless, verily, verily, I say unto you: Behold, and lo, yet shall he be the First Preacher again unto the church; and he shall be the First Preacher again before the world, yea to as many as receive me to be the Lord their God; and he shall be the First Preacher again before the Gentiles, for to them will I give power to become the sons of God, even to as many as the Spirit beareth record, and the record is true; yea, thus saith the Lord God, Lo, lo! he shall be the First Preacher again to the Jews also, even to them that believe on my name, and even to all of these do I give power to become the sons of God.

.

v30 But verily, verily, I say unto you, that as many as receive me,
to them will I give power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on my name.

unto the church,
and
before the world,
yea,
before the Gentiles;
yea, and thus saith the
Lord God, lo, lo!
to the Jews also.

v39 For behold, and lo,
the Lord is God,
$ and the Spirit beareth record,
$ and the record is true,
and the truth abideth forever and ever.

Therefore, again the second time, the stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes, for the truth abideth forever and ever. Amen, Amen, and Amen.

.

Amen.

Amen.

Amen.

Schopenhauer
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
   Second, it is violently opposed; and
   Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
