Doug, Lynn here, Independence, MO.
You write, "...I have grown to love and appreciate you very
much..."
It is words just such as these that make me humble and proud at the same
time. Humbled to be of service yet proud to be a believer. Truly the Lord was
right when he said, "...By this shall all men know that ye are my
disciples, if ye have love one to another..." (Jn.13:35).
It is such an awesome privilege to be His disciple and to love His
people--of which you are a part. Thank you for your kind words. You ask about
my not being LDS yet loving the Book of Mormon and the restoration gospel--the
seeming contradiction.
First, let it be known--I harbor no ill feelings toward the LDS saints
and/or the GAs [General Authorities]. More than a few of my friends are active
members. And a few are among the GAs. It's just that my calling is to be a
bridge builder. My passion is to bring together what I call "reformation
Christians" and "restoration Christians." Reformation
Christians, of course, are Protestant/Pentecostal believers. My passion is to
demonstrate that our similarities far outweigh all our differences. And
that--the endtime move of God will end up joining together the two sticks--the
Gentiles & Jews, Bible-believing & Book of Mormon believers.
I want to be on the cutting edge of that great move of the Spirit in these
exciting times. And quite truthfully, I'm beginning to witness a trickling of
the above reality. I've been at this for the past fifteen years--sowing seed
here 'n yonder. Some of it is beginning to take root in good soil. I see
evidence of a future harvest.
And I am extremely excited.
Again, thanks for asking and thank you for your kind words.
His blessings as we labor together in His vineyard,
Lynn
