Joseph Smith is the one to thank for bringing us our understanding of Adam
On Diaman, which is a place named after two conferences -- one that already
transpired at the beginning of our current civilization's history toward the
end of Adam's life, and one that has yet to happen prior to the earth being
renewed to its paradisiacal state -- toward the end of this telestial world
phase which we now are in. In the language of chiasms, chronologically it goes
"garden of Eden, Adam-On-Diahman, Adam-On-Diahman, garden of Eden."
Regarding the first conference, Doctrine and Covenants 107 reads:
53 Three years previous to the death of Adam, he called Seth, Enos,
Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Enoch and Methuselah, who were all high priests,
with the residue of his posterity who were righteous, into the valley of
Adam-ondi-Ahman, and there bestowed upon them his last blessing.
54 And the Lord appeared unto them, and they rose up and blessed Adam, and
called him Michael, the prince, the archangel.
55 And the Lord administered comfort unto Adam, and said unto him: I have
set thee to be at the head; a multitude of nations shall come of thee, and
thou art a prince over them forever.
56 And Adam stood up in the midst of the congregation; and, notwithstanding
he was bowed down with age, being full of the Holy Ghost, predicted
whatsoever should befall his posterity unto the latest generation.
57 These things were all written in the book of Enoch, and are to be
testified of in due time.
Joseph taught that this took place in what is now Davies County, MO. It is
a holy spot to the Mormons (especially the outcasts) similar to, say, the
mount of Transfiguration in Israel.
He also taught that there would yet be a conference held there. Daniel
7:13,14 regarding the ancient of days will see its fulfillment in this valley.
The 144,000 will be ordained by angels and sent forth from this valley.
Adam On Diahman will be to our generation what Pentecost was to the
Christians -- except that, we being more advanced in our day thanks to their
groundwork, Adam On Diahman will be far more glorious. Not only will angels
appear, but God himself shall make his appearance.
D&C 116:1
1 Spring Hill is named by the Lord Adam-ondi-Ahman, because, said he, it
is the place where Adam shall come to visit his people, or the Ancient of
Days shall sit, as spoken of by Daniel the prophet.
This is the only one-verse chapter/section that I know of in the entire
Bible/Book of Mormon/D&C/PGP. That in itself creates a highly unusual
exclamation point.
The saints shall be crowned and the foundations of the city of God on earth
will be laid.
D&C 78:
15 That you may come up unto the crown prepared for you, and be made
rulers over many kingdoms, saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Zion, who
hath established the foundations of Adam-ondi-Ahman;
16 Who hath appointed Michael your prince, and established his feet, and set
him upon high, and given unto him the keys of salvation under the counsel
and direction of the Holy One, who is without beginning of days or end of
life.
Those are the scriptures on the subject. Further inquiry can be made into
other writings on the matter, but let this suffice for now for an
introduction.
I'm surprised J.J. (LDS background) does not mention this in his teachings.
It is a hallmark of prophecy for the time in which we life. Every Mormon
outcast looks with great anticipation for that event, hoping he will be there
when it happens.
