Hi Sterling,
I thought you might like to hear the last part of John's talk.
The church John belonged to was not allowed in France, a long time ago. The
story is that these people, more the leaders, would meet in a cave to
worship. One time the government sealed up the cave and they all died.
One year, John went back to this cave to ponder. He wore his
religious clothing that looks a lot like our temple clothing. As he
looked out over the valley, in vision, it became 3 valleys. When he came
to Sanpete county, he identified the valley as the one he saw in vision.
He saw the Manti Temple. Many families were going to the
temple. They were weaving one-piece garments. Everyone was happy
and especially the children. Some people who lived here already were
leaving. There were also spirits of the dead there. They were
smiling also. Husbands and wives were going through the veil in white
and coming out dressed in gold. Manti was much more populated, very beautiful
with lots of gardens, fountains. It was a fertile valley and so were the
women. Men wearing suits could not get into the valley. Guards
were guarding the valley and you couldn't get in unless you were
righteous. you had to be a saint and the old temple recommend would not
let you in. Someone was trying to build another temple in Manti. They
started it and then left it with the walls only half way done.
He saw Salt Lake in ruin. All of Utah was in apostasy. Everyone
was in panic. They were walking over babies. When I asked him if
there was an earthquake, he said yes. When I asked him if Christ was in
the temple, he said he couldn't comment. John believed that this temple was
saved because they use the old system, no movie. You need to move from
room to room to realize the different degrees or kingdoms. He said the
church headquarters was now in Manti. Also both canyons would be closed
off by large earth movements that could not be repaired. Only the South
entrance would be open.
We told John about the eagle on the mountain. He said the eagle is a
symbol of John, the beloved. He also said that when John lived on, so
did his church and priesthood and that is when his came from.
He said the temple covenants have been changed and are like sugar; they
give you a high.
