"God is
presented to the world in different ways in many other religions that had an
inspired beginning. Notice that each religion has a different name for
God. This is because the name has a particularly important message for
their consciousness that will help their particular group or race
progress."
John the Revelator, to J.J. Dewey

Immortal

Each Little Soul
To see your small sweet face;
soft cheeks and quivering chin.
To touch your fragile hands
that grasp mine then open up again.
To hear your cry--my little one--
it's so important to me.
A Mother's love is as close to God's
as any love could be.
Can't everyone see you like I do;
and feel as I for you?
Can't they see the treasure God gave--
in each little soul called you?

"It is sad
that the ancient science of names and the power of their meaning has been
lost to the world. But this loss is temporary. Mankind will soon learn
the power of names again."

"This is
perhaps the most important advice you will ever receive: Always live by the
highest light you have already received. If you do, you will receive
more, worlds without end. If you do not, your progression will
come to an end and cannot proceed until you go back, review the last light
you have received, and then live your live according to the standard of that
light."

"And they had power given
unto them, insomuch that they could not be confined in dungeons; neither was
it possible that any man could slay them; nevertheless they did not exercise
their power until they were bound in bands and cast into prison. Now, this
was done that the Lord might show forth his power in them."

The beef industry has contributed to more American deaths
than all the wars of this century, all natural disasters, and all automobile
accidents combined. If beef is your idea of "real food for real
people'' you'd better live real close to a real good hospital. -- Neal
Barnard, M.D., President, PCRM

"U.S. businesses and government agencies are spending about $100
billion to keep the Year 2000 glitch from crashing their computers, making a
simple two-digit programming 'bug' the most expensive peacetime catastrophe
in modern history. 'The Y2K price tag works out to $365 for
every U.S. citizen,' said Commerce Secretary William Daley."

"The church will not be
aligned with the Christian right as a political action group. The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints limits its involvement in politics to
issues the church deems to have religious or moral implications, such as
abortion or same-sex marriage. For everything else, the political
process is fine as it is."

"And now it came to pass
that all this was done in Mormon, yea, by the waters of Mormon,
in the forest that was near the waters of Mormon; yea, the
place of Mormon, the waters of Mormon, the
forest of Mormon, how beautiful are they to the eyes of
them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed
are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever."
-- Mosiah 18:30
The word "Mormon" is used in an overtly redundant fashion --
six times -- in Mosiah 18:30. 1830 is the year the Mormon church was
founded.

"Throughout history, the chief impediment to the growth of the total
state has been the family. Now, in a torturous twist of irony, the Family

66 x 66
= 4356. Word 4356 in James Strong's "Hebrew and
Chaldee Dictionary" appendix in his Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible
is on page 66. See "435
and the Mormon Remnant Outcasts."
It means, "A pen (for flocks); (sheep) fold."
Word 4356 in the Greek NT means "a taking to oneself, acceptance,
receiving, admission," which calls to mind the image of the awakened
Remnant who receive that which they have and hence are given greater things
until they receive a fulness, being taken into God's presence and sealed as
his.

Internationalism Itself Not Evil
Helaman 6
5 Yea, and many did preach with exceedingly great power and authority,
unto the bringing down many of them into the depths of humility, to be the
humble followers of God and the Lamb.
7 And behold, there was peace in all the land, insomuch that the Nephites
did go into whatsoever part of the land they would, whether among the
Nephites or the Lamanites.
8 And it came to pass that the Lamanites did also go whithersoever they
would, whether it were among the Lamanites or among the Nephites; and thus
they did have free intercourse one with another, to buy and to sell, and to
get gain, according to their desire.
9 And it came to pass that they became exceedingly rich, both the
Lamanites and the Nephites; and they did have an exceeding plenty of gold,
and of silver, and of all manner of precious metals, both in the land south
and in the land north.

The saints are not always the church,
and the church is not always made of saints.
"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock
I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against
it." (Matt. 16:18.)
"I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and
prevailed against them." (Daniel 7:21.)
"And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to
overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and
nations." (Revelation 13:7.)
"But inasmuch as they keep not my commandments, and hearken not to
observe all my words, the kingdoms of the world shall prevail against
them." (D&C 103:8.)

"Build me a son, O Lord, who
will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to [*turn to
the Lord] when he is afraid; one who will be [**submissive] in honest
defeat, and humble and gentle in [***righteous] victory."
-- General Douglas MacArthur
"A Father's Prayer," quoted in MacArthur, His Rendezvous with
History by Courtney Whitney (1955)
*MacArthur's said, "face himself," but it takes more
courage to be vulnerable enough to turn to God, when the world around us
places such an awful stigma of weakness on religion.
** MacArthur said "proud and unbending," but I take the
liberty to improve upon his testosterone-heavy paradigm which resists
correction.
***Victory in this world is often had by the brute beast, so I added
this qualifier.

kleros (I) A lot, the stone or mark itself which was
cast into the urn or lap. It seems that the Greek method of casting lots was
also followed by the Romans. The lots of several parties were properly
marked or distinguished and put into a vessel which was violently shaken by
one who turned his face away. The lot which first fell upon the ground
indicated the man chosen or preferred for the occasion. The Romans
attributed divine choice to this method.
