763-

Jeremiah 18 and I Nephi 17

excerpts from full write-up

763- and Alpine/Highland/American Fork

The phone prefix 763- is one of three in Alpine, Highland, and American Fork district. This was the number that the phone company assigned to me on Dec. 4, 1997 after I moved to Alpine to stay with Jim and Marlene Holley.

Word 763 in the Hebrew Lexicon (Gesenius) comes from the root word 758 that means,

"to be high; height, high region."

James Strong includes the word,

"highland,"

the town next door, which name also contains the idea of alpine. Word 763 itself is,

"Syria of the two rivers"

[e.g. fork, such as in American Fork]. Thus, in the Old Testament lexicon word number 763 links to all three towns in Utah that have this phone number prefix.

Words 7630-7637 are on page 801 of Gesenus' O.T. Lexicon
{Note:  discovered 3/30/98}

You can imagine my wonderment as a couple months after writing this piece about 763, I was browsing through my Old Testament lexicon and in my curiosity I turned to page 801, which is the area code of Wasatch Front Utah, including Alpine; and there on the page are several words that have 763 as the first three digits of their number!

Chapter 763 = Jeremiah 18

{Ed. Note: Context of the next paragraph:  significant experience relating to the personal  impact and application of the cross-correlated Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17 (including bookmarks lingering in both these chapters for nearly a year, and doing several works on 1 Nephi 17)}

When I select a scripture to memorize before retiring to bed, because my scriptures are upstairs in my "office," I have been using an old LDS quad (all four volumes of scripture) that belonged to Jim's dad, Bishop Harold H. Holley. I call it the "Holley Bible;" and have made several significant discoveries because of its unique layout. Next to the chapter number, it lists the total chapter number as counting from the beginning of the Bible. It turns out that Jeremiah 18 is the 763rd chapter of the Bible. That's my phone number!

763rd chapter of the Bible

(Jeremiah 18)

Jeremiah 18 is on the Same Open Page (966, 967) in the Holley Bible and the Current LDS Bible

Jeremiah 18 begins on page 967 in Bishop Holley's quad and on page 966 in the current quad. In both books, these two pages lie open together. Furthermore, the Holley Bible lists no copyright date for the Bible section, but the Book of Mormon section has the copyright date, 1966.

Comparing the Holley Bible and the Current LDS Bible

Observing that Jeremiah 18 begins just a little more than a column apart between these differently-published Bibles, I then undertook to determine just how frequent such a line-up occurs between these two Bibles. I knew this coinciding of pages could not happen very often, as the footnoting is very different between the two volumes. In the Holley Bible, each page alots the same space between the columns of text for footnotes. In the current LDS version, the footnotes are on the bottom of the page, and the space they occupy varies from a single line to a third or even half the page at times.

So I sat down at a table with both Bibles open before me and a sheet of paper to begin noting the difference of pages on which various chapters fell in the two volumes. Both Bibles begin with Genesis 1 on page 1. But by the second chapter, the pages are already off-set by one.

By chapter five, they are offset by two, the current LDS version having far more footnotes. Joseph Smith did a great deal with Genesis and Exodus when he did the New Translation that we call the Joseph Smith Translation (JST). In fact, chapter two forward in the book of Moses in the Pearl of Great Price is the Joseph Smith Translation of the first portion of Genesis. I had learned of this in an Education Week class I attended with Robert Millet, who was the saint responsible for getting the JST integrated into the footnotes of our current Bible (King James Version text). If I remember correctly, he said that after Joseph did these first two books that he then skipped to the New Testament, then came back last to finish the Old Testament, when he was too busy to give it sufficient attention as he had been able to earlier. I consider this a great tragedy of history that the saints did not rally more around Joseph to support him so he would not have to labor for his bread but could devote more of his attention to bringing forth the word of God, as he had been commissioned by the Lord (see D&C 24:9).

Together Again in 2 Samuel: Story of David

This therefore accounts partly for why the pagination between the two Bibles separates with the new having more pages (up to ten pages difference in the region of Joshua),

then comes back together in the region of 2 Samuel, the story of David taking the kingdom after Saul.

In the midst of this comes six consecutive pages in which the chapter beginnings fall on exactly the same page in both Bibles. The closest alignment of chapter headings happens to fall on page 444. This chapter includes page 445.

Page 445 and the Fountain Green Phone Prefix

Recall that it was the phone prefix 763 that catalyzed this comparison of page alignments between the two volumes. 445 happens to be the phone prefix in Fountain Green, where I moved from, and which I still consider my permanent residence; [and, as of Jan. 17, it is where Jim and Marlene are planning to move in March].

Pages 763

After 2 Samuel 17 or so, the pages begin to separate again, this time with the newer Bible having fewer pages, reaching a difference of at least 20 pages in the region of Job.

They then start coming back together through Psalms and Isaiah, books in which the LDS have significant understanding, (hence more footnotes) thanks largely to the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith.

Back Again After Isaiah 66

The pages come back together exactly after Isaiah 66.

Jeremiah 18 in the Middle of 36 Chapters of Close Vicinity

Jeremiah 1 is on page 942 in both Bibles.

The new Bible lags by one page at Jeremiah 4, then leads by one from Jeremiah 7 through 9. Then, from Jeremiah 11 through 33, twenty-two consecutive chapters, the newer Bible chapter beginnings lag by exactly one page.

From chapter 36 on, the lag is by two or more pages until Habakkuk 2 or so. Hence, from Jeremiah 1 to 36 (except 34) the lag is a page or less. Half way between are the two open pages with Jeremiah 18.

After this, the furthest they get apart is four pages in the vicinity of Ezekiel 25.

1188 = 66 x 18, Just Next to 666, and The Word

Including the six introduction pages to the Bible, the total pages to the end of the Old Testament comes to 1190.

This is one more than 1189, the total chapters in the Bible, Old and New Testament.

1189 chapters in the Bible
wpeAD.gif (6857 bytes)
(Rev. 22:1)

The number 1188 = 66 x 18; and 18 = 6 + 6 + 6. There are 66 books in the Bible, 66 chapters in Isaiah, 66 occurrences of "righteousness" and/or "salvation" in Isaiah; D&C 66 comes half way between 1 and 133 (which quotes Malachi 4:1), the "preface" and "appendix," respectively, and was received immediately prior to these two. (For more on "66" and its relation to the word, see document by that title. Greater Things, P.O. Box 66, Fountain Green, UT.)

Thus, the total number of Bible (Old and New Testament) chapters is one more than this 666-like number, and the total number of pages in the Bible (old and newer versions) is just one more than this number. Hence the number of anti-Christ, the mark of the beast, is immediately juxtaposed with the idea of the word of God - twice, in two significant corroborating ways.

A Comment About the New and the Old

Notice in these witnesses that they contain the idea of what is considered new wine (such as reflected in the New Testament or the Book of Mormon, D&C, etc) coming to provide greater light and knowledge as the old is ready to be done away, consistent with the idea of Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17. At the same time, note that the reality is that the old testament and the new are actually in harmony with one another in their witness of the truth. It is only the people's departure from the light they have been given that constitutes reason for taking from them and giving to another. The great and marvelous work of the Father in this day in which we now live, among these people who now call themselves "the Lord's" will see just such a transition take place. Greater light will come, which will only bear witness of the light already given, and show with greater clarity the degree to which the people have departed from the light, while another people come into the light and partake of its fulness. The day of the Gentiles is coming to a close. The day of Israel is coming in. Jacob is coming of age.

Through the End of the New Testament

In the newer LDS publication of the New Testament, because of the wealth of footnotes there are consistently more pages than in the older, Holley Bible. By the time the end of the New Testament is reached (Rev. 22), there is a 45-page difference.

37 x 66 = 2442 Pages in the LDS Bible

Again, following the nudgings of the Spirit to uncover something hidden, I took the total number of pages of the Old and New Testament (1590). This number divided by 66 is 24 and 6/66. I then took the number of pages of the Topical Guide, Bible Dictionary, JST, and maps (852) and added that to the number of Bible pages. 1590 + 852 = 2442. This also happens to equal 37 x 66, exactly. According to the book, Theomatics (Lucas, 1977), the number 37 is the number of Christ. 37 x 3 (Godhead) = 111, which is the number of God. Note above that I have highlighted the various multiples of 111. We saw 111, 333, 444, 555, and 666 (anti-Christ). Another triplet that might be included in this line-up is the name embossed on the leather cover of the Holley Bible: Harold H. Holley, which connects to the idea of 888, with the "H" equivalent being the eight letter, heh, of the Hebrew alphabet. Speaking of triplets...

37 x 25 = 925 Pages in the Triple Combination

Next, I added up the number of pages in the Book of Mormon (535), D&C (298), PGP (61), and the pages inbetween. There are 16 before the Book of Mormon, 9 before the D&C, 6 before the PGP. These total 925 pages. When I saw that, my soul leapt, for I recalled that this is the number of one of the spellings of Messiah, , in Greek. When the numerical value of each letter is added together, they total 925. Also, 925 = 37 x 25 exactly. While 37 is the number of Christ, 25 is the number of David. I personally can relate to this number, as my first name, Sterling, as defined in my Webster's II New Riverside Dictionary (Berkley Books, NY, 1984), is "an alloy consisting of 92.5% silver."  {see play on word "Webster"}

Next, I found the number of pages in the Index that follows the Triple Combination (416) and the pages between the PGP and it (3) and added them to the number of pages in the Triple Combination (925). The total, 1344, is exactly 21 x 64. Twenty one is 3 x 7 (the idea of 37) and 64 is 26 or 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2. In my mind, I see the idea of 66 in "26." Also, by turning the multiplication sign from "x" to "+", you get 2 + 2 + 2 (= 6) + 2 + 2 + 2 (= 6); or 6 + 6 (again, the idea of 66, with the two sets of three twos). Hence a form of 37 x 66, like in the Bible.

There are no coincidences with the Lord. All things are numbered to him. Certainly no man is responsible for these things being as they are. No man is omniscient or omnipotent so as to be able to bring such things into existence. And there is more.

Page 1184 in Zodhiates' New Testament (N.T.) Lexicon:   pneuma, "THE SPIRIT"

Page 1184 (total number of pages in the Old Testament of both the Holley and the newer Bible) in my New Testament (N.T.) lexicon is the fourth of a five-page definition of word 4151

µ pheuma, (I) Breath. (II) Spirit. (III) A spirit; a simple, incorporeal, immaterial being; [continued on p. 1184:] (D) Of the Spirit of God. In the NT, referred to as "the Spirit of God," "the Holy Spirit, in an absolute sense as "the Spirit."

I cannot think of a more appropriate word to capture the essence of the difference between the old covenant and the new as embodied in the Old and New Testaments. Because the children of Israel refused to receive a higher law, they provoked the Lord to anger, and he gave them the Law and ground their faces in it; and still they did not see that he wanted them to come unto salvation through the mighty change that is bestowed through the Holy Spirit of God to those who come forth with a broken heart and contrite spirit. The law was meant to break them, but they only hardened their hearts instead. The Book of Mormon makes it clear that being born again through the baptism of the Spirit was attainable and frequently bestowed upon individuals prior to the advent of Jesus Christ in the meridian of times, even though they were still obliged to live the law of Moses until it be fulfilled. They knew (at least some of them) to what purpose the law was given, pointing their souls to Christ.

The Jews, however, rejected the salvation offered by Jesus Christ and crucified him, thus fulfilling the old and bringing about the new. Hence page 1184 also captures the idea of Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17. And again, the implication through these various word and number associations is that we are now in a day when a similar transition will take place, as the LDS population specifically, and the Christians generally harden their hearts against the work of the Father among them, and the fullness of the gospel is taken from these Gentile peoples and given to the House of Israel.

That such a parallel is meant to be drawn is strengthened by the fact that the word immediately before, or juxtaposing word 4151, pneuma, is 4150. 4150 are the last four digits of the LDS Church headquarters' zip code: 84150. That word itself means, "To wash, as garments." Some of the synonyms listed are: "3538, to wash; 907, to baptize; 2511, to cleanse; 2508, to purge." Several things come to mind as I see these definitions. First, obviously the LDS Church pursues a rigorous program of baptism, sending tens of thousands of missionaries all over the world. The polemic enters as we look at the essence of these baptisms. So much focus is placed on the physical ordinance and upon enrolling one's name on the Church records that the essential doctrine of the spiritual baptism by the Holy Ghost is too often slighted. This negligence is one of the primary reasons for the Salt Lake City-centered, Mormon salt losing its savor. It is a primary reason for the condemnation or curse that rests on this people, and its removal will constitute a central feature of the awakening and arising that will transpire among a remnant. (e.g. D&C 113:7-10; 3 Nephi 11:32-41 compare Dan. 7:21, Rev. 13:7, D&C 103:8.)

Another thing that comes to my mind upon reading these definitions associated with word 4150, is the idea of cleansing one's garments by binding up the law and sealing up the testimony. The uncomfortable message must be proclaimed that the LDS population is in a state of apostasy just as severe, actually more so, than the Jews state of general, thought not complete apostasy at the time Jesus Christ came among them. Like with Jeremiah in chapter 18, this message is not meant as a hateful one to the people, but rather is meant to avert the destruction that unavoidably awaits them if they do not repent. Why should they grow angry at that? Yet they do.

And why do they? The word prior to 4150 itemizes the primary reason: "4149, ploutos, Riches, wealth, goods." Our riches should be in Christ, but instead, they are in anti-Christ, the mark of the beast, the buying and selling to grow extremely rich at the expense of the persecuted and poor of the world. In stead of building up the kingdom of God on earth, the saints are building up the kingdom of the devil.

While there are certainly a substantial number of exceptions to this, the point is that as a people we have strayed, and as a people we will be chastened.

Just to show that this coincidence of the LDS Headquarters zip code is highly significant, recall that word number 4150 in Hebrew has the following definition. (My comments in [brackets].)

4150 (1) A set time. (a) Of a point of time. Hab. 2:3, "the vision belongs to a time." (b) Of space of time, as appointed, defined; specially in prophetic style of a year. [semi/annual general conference.] (2) An assembly. In Isa. 14:13, in the speech of the king of Babylon, there is mentioned "the mount of the assembly" (of Gods), ..."the seat of the gods." "The tent of the assembly," is a name often given to the holy tabernacle of the Israelites, elsewhere called the tabernacle of the covenant; and often besides; either because there God met with Moses, or from the assemblies of the people which were held before this tent. (3) a place in which an assembly is held, of the temple. I scarcely doubt that the holy places besides Jerusalem are to be understood, such as Ramah..., etc. celebrated as being high places and seats of the prophets. (4) an appointed sign, signal.

I would say that is about as direct a hit as is possible. The word before this means, "instruction, doctrine."

Page 925 ( = 37 x 25 = Messiah) in Zodhiates' N.T. Lexicon: logos, "THE WORD"

Page 925 in my N.T. Lexicon is the second page of Zodhiates' 2½-page write up for word 3056, which includes the following definition and comments. My editorial comments are indicated in [small brackets].

logos Word. (I)(D) Word, meaning talk, rumor, report. Mere talk, pretense, show [which is how those who sit in darkness regard the light that shines to them from God]. (II) Reason, the reasoning faculty as that power of the soul which is the basis of speech, rationality. (III) The word Logos in John 1:1,14; 1 John 1:1 [111] stands for the preincarnate Christ. (IV) ...Those who are of God hear God's words. John 3:34 says that Jesus Christ, being sent of God, speaks exactly God's utterances which those who are of God understand and which those who are not of God do not understand because they do not accept them as the utterances of God. In John 1:1... This self-revealing characteristic of God was directed toward, and utterly achieved for mankind in the incarnation.

925 ( = 37 X 25 ) and 1 Nephi 17:55

The morning (1/15) after finding all these things with the numbers of pages and totals in the scriptures, I felt nudged by the Spirit that there was something about 1 Nephi 17 that would tie into this as well. Part of 1 Nephi 17 is on page 40, which seems significant, but I felt there was something else that would somehow link me to what I had found the day before. Having the bookmarks in both locations for a long time was sufficiently significant to me, but I know the Lord delights in proving his word and providing multiple witnesses.

On a hunch, upon seeing the total number of verses in the chapter, 55, I set out on an approach I have never used before. I started adding the verses together. 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6, etc. At 8, the total was 36, which is 6 x 6, which brought a little thrill, like maybe I was on to something. Then, when at 11, the total was 66, I knew there was something going on with this approach. When I added 36 ( = 6 x 6), the total now reached 666. Then I hit 55, and there on my calculator display was: 925 ( = 37 x 25 ), the Messianic number again. Out of curiosity, I continued adding numbers sequentially. The next one to capture my interest was when I came to 100. The total was 5050 (50 + 50 = 100). But this was anti-climactic after what I found with 55 and 925.

Total # Pages in Current LDS Bible = 1 + 2 + 3 + . . . + 66

(1/20/98) I thought I had finished this write-up last night, but this morning the Spirit pressed on me with another question. With what I found on adding the numbers together sequentially, it seemed to me that there ought to be something significant about the total at 66. I remember looking at the number at the time I did the calculations as reported above, but it did not stick out as anything significant. So this morning, I pulled out my calculator, started at 55 = 925, then added 56 + 57 + 58 + 59 + 60 + 60 + 61 + 62 + 63 + 64 + 65 + 66. The total: 1596. Somehow that number had a feeling to it, and though nothing was obvious on the surface, I decided to probe further. What if I divide that number by 66? That came to 24.181818.... When I saw that, my memory was jogged, for it seemed like I had seen a number very close to that once before when I divided a number by 66. I pulled out my notes from Jan. 14 when I did the page number study in the Holley and new LDS Bibles. Sure enough, the total number of pages in the new LDS Bible is 1590, six shy of 1596. So next, I looked at the beginning of the Bible to see how many pages there were before the numbering starts. There are Six. Hence, in all, there are precisely 1596 pages in the current (since 1979) publication of the LDS King James Bible, which is 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + ... all the way up to 66. Praise the Lord, God Almighty!

Words 1596: "Treasures Hidden Intentionally"

There is no way this happened by accident or sheer coincidence. Word 1596 () in the Greek means, "intentionally." It is just as unlikely that man is the one who executed this plan. The glory is God's.

Hebrew word 1596 means, "treasures," from the unused root, , "to hide, to lay up in store."

Gesenius

As a side note of interest, the insertion point of the Hebrew spelling of Gesenius (...), whose lexicon I am using, from which so much of this understanding is unfolded, happens to be two words later, after word 1599, which means "gardener" (one who cultivates the word), and right before word 1600, which makes reference to "an ox," which is synonymous with the first letter, aleph, of the Hebrew alphabet, which links to the idea of alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. I discovered this on Feb. 2, 1997, which was 1000 days before the year 2000. Ox also means 1,000, which I like to think also has reference to the millennial reign.

The insertion point of "Gesenius" spelled in Greek in Zodhiates' lexicon occurs on page 366, which is just one past 365, the number of days in a year. The word prior is 1088 geron, "an old man." The things metaphorically tie to the idea of the new millennium as well, when the new wine replaces the old, and men live to the age of a tree. A couple of words later, 1090 gerge, "to cultivate or till the earth," matches the idea of "gardener."

The two words following word 1600 in Hebrew, mean, "lowing" (1602), as in an ox, and "to loathe" (1602), which is both a play on words (low & loath), which is quite common in these word studies, as well as a commentary about how the work of the father (ox) will be received by those among whom he comes (loathed), as fulcrum of the overturning.

Zodhiates

The next day after finding the insertion point of the name Gesenius in Hebrew, I purchased Zodhiates' Greek Lexicon (Complete Word Study Dictionary of the New Testament). The clerk (His Place bookstore in Provo) remarked how unusual the Visa Card authorization number was: 099999. Today (1/20), I realized that this would have been 999 days before the year 2000.

The insertion point of the Greek spelling of Zodhiates is just before word #2222 z, "life."

Spelled in Hebrew, it comes just before an unused root, , "to hide, to conceal, to lay up, to preserve," which is followed by another unused root, , "to spout forth like rays or in streams," which combined produces the image of hidden truths shining forth. The first numbered word listed after the insertion point is 2104 Zuzims, which happens to be the very last word listed in Gesenius' Index.

These connections provide a brief glimpse into the fact that not only has the Lord engineered the scriptures to line up in certain ways, but His hand is likewise manifest even in the lexicons. (End 1/20 insertion.)

3 7 6 and 7 6 3

(Added 1/23/98.) From the study I did on "66," I discovered that the number of verses in all the scriptures (O.T., N.T., BofM, D&C, PGP) that have any form of the word "six" in them is 376. There are also exactly 376 chapters/sections in the Book of Mormon and Doctrine & Covenants.

This is a stretch, but the number 376 transposed is 763. That this kind of coincidence is not insignificant will be illustrated below for the number 7 8 6 3, which also has the digits 763 in it.

Pages 966-967 (Jeremiah 18) in Zodhiates' N.T. Lexicon

I found quite a few pertinent connections when I next looked up pages 966 and 967 in my N.T. lexicon. Remember, Jeremiah 18 is found on page 966 of the newer Bible, and page 967 of the Holley Bible, which pages are open together.

To Change

Seven of the eight words (3327c-3334) on these two pages (966, 967) "denote change," from the Greek root, meta. Change is the essence of the idea of Jeremiah and 1 Nephi 17: the idea of overturning, of replacing, of switching, exchanging. Core in this is the idea of the mighty change of heart that comes as a gift from God, and through which God's righteousness is brought forth, and hence his salvation.

Tying to the idea of 25 and David, the word David occurs in the N.T. lexicon immediately at the beginning of the delta section, which symbol denotes change.

My interest and affinity for this doctrine is heightened as my last name, Allan, when spelled in Greek, comes immediately before word 236, which means, "To change." Zodhiates lists word 236 as a synonym of word 3328 on page 966.

To Move

While I was spending the day writing this up, Jim and Marlene were down in Sanpete valley looking for a home, as they are contemplating moving. This is a decision that has come of a sudden in the past week or so. They have been here in Alpine for 37 years, and in this home for 21 (= 3 x 7; or 3,7).

It was later in the evening, after they returned, that I looked up page 966 and 967 for the first time. Recall that Jeremiah 18 is on page 967 of the Holley Bible. It would not be until the next morning (1/16) that I would realize what a precise correlation this was. Of the six words on the page, note the following five:

3329 metaxo (from meta, denoting change of place or conidtion). To lead over, transfer.

3331 metatheseos, Transposition, a moving to another place.

3332 metaro, To lift away, remove from one place to another. In the NT, to take oneself away, i.e., to go away, depart.

3333 metakalo, (from meta, denoting change of place or condition, and kaleo, to call from one place to another, summon.

3334 metakino, To move from one place to another, move away, remove.

333 and 966/967 Again

Note that four of the above definitions have 333 in their number, and one of them is 3333. Recall that word 966 in Zodhiates' Greek lexicon is on page 333. One thing I did not mention earlier, is that word 967 is on the next page, 334. Page 334 of the newer LDS Bible is where the first of two occurrences of the name "Allon" occur in the Bible (Joshua 19:33). The second occurrence of Allon is in 2 Chron. 4:37, which falls on page 554, one away from 555. Allon (440Heb) is the closest word to Allan in the Hebrew. It is word 440 in the Hebrew Lexicon. The street of the first and only house I have ever "bought" was 440 West, in Provo. Recall that pages 439 through 448 (including 440) of both the Holley Bible and the newer LDS Bible are the longest consecutive region, by far, in which the chapter headings are the same in both Bibles (2 Sam. 11-16).

The Fullness of Messiah in Their Midst

The first definition on page 966, spilling over from the previous page and a half, is:

3326 meta Its primary meanings is mid, amid, in the midst, with, among, implying the accompaniment.

The words of this definition have the signification of Immanuel, which name/word and idea is an inseparable corollary to the idea of Messiah, THE WORD AMONG US.

Witnessing or validating this connection, just three words prior is

3323 Messias Messiah.

The three words prior to this (3319, 3320, 3321) also have the meaning of "Middle, in the midst." The word, Messiah, comes in the midst of these words, just as Messiah comes in our midst.

After the word 3323, "Messiah," and before word 3326, "in the midst," are two words (3324, 3325) that mean "Full, filled; to fill." I think of the indwelling of the Holy Ghost that is promised to all who come to Christ and build upon the rock of his gospel.

The antonym given for these two words is, "empty." Before we can be filled with the Holy Ghost, we must recognize and acknowledge our own nothingness before the Lord, coming forth with broken heart and contrite spirit. Furthermore, this is yet another instance of dozens in which a word for God is immediately juxtaposed with a word carrying the meaning of "nothing" (empty).

Pages 925, and 966-967 in and Webster's Dictionary

Page 925 in Webster's: "empty"

Page 925 of my Webster's (1971) dictionary, in which I have found so many correlations before, seems applicable here too. Four words (vacant, vacuity, vacuum, vain), of the 21 on the page, list "empty" as one of their meanings.

Word 925 (25 x 37) in Greek: "Ant.: empty"

Providing a third witness, via identical definition, one of the antonyms of word 925 ( = 37 x 25) in the Greek lexicon is "Ant. 2758, to make empty."

Vicinity of Word 925 (25 x 37) in Hebrew: "Ant.: empty"

Bringing yet a fourth witness, in the Hebrew lexicon, word 925 means, "splendid, bright" such as silver. Three words prior means, "emptiness, voidness" (922).

Page 763 (Chapter 763 = Jer. 18) of Gesenius' O.T. Lexicon: "empty"

As a fifth witness, page 763 of Gesenius Lexicon of the O.T. has the word , which means, "To be emptied, to empty out."

Page 925 (25 x 37) in Webster's: "wandering"

Another item worth noting back on page 925 of Webster's is that five words (vacillate, vagabond, vagary, vagrant, vague) all have the meaning listed of, "wandering." Just as "nothing" is the opposite of "God," so is "wandering" the opposite of the promise "seek and ye shall find," or the idea of the immovable rock upon which we build when we make Christ our sure foundation.

Page 966, 967 in Webster's (Page 966, 967 in the Bible = Jer. 18)

Not only are several of the word definitions on page 966 and 967 related to the idea of Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17, but some of them even use identical phraseology as that found in Jeremiah 18.

For example, as a metaphor for what the Lord can do to rebellious nations that refuse to mend their evil ways, Jeremiah 18:4 reads, "And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it." Likewise, one of the definitions on page 966 reads: "wreck: The destruction of a vessel." Also fitting the theme of overturning evil, some of the other pertinent definitions on these two pages of the dictionary are: wound, wrack, wrangle, wrath (twist), wreak (avenge), wreath (twisted), wrench, wrest, wrestle, wretch (twist), wriggle (contend), wring (twist), writhe (twist), wrong, wroth, wry (twisted). The word, twist, which comes up in ten definitions on these two pages is related to the word, overturn.

In contrast, denoting the good by which the evil is overcome, the following words are also on these two pages: worth, writ, write, denoting the good word of God. It is worth noting that the word, "WORD" is just two pages prior. (Word 7860, "to write" connects here. Its relevance through the pertinent words in its vicinity is shown below.)

At the end of page 967 is the word, "wye: the letter Y," the 25th letter of the alphabet, the number of David. The "Y" section of the dictionary begins on the middle (midst) of the next page. The shape of the "Y" could be considered metaphorical both of the gathering of the righteous unto the Lord (the divergent forks coming together) as well as of the division (the forks going apart) as all humankind are required to align themselves either with the Lord or with the devil.

Noteworthy Synchronicital Evidences:    Wurston & Val @ Titanic

Titanic

In the evening of the day (1/16/98) I discovered what I did with the page numbers of Webster's dictionary, reported above, I went to see the recently released hit movie, The Titanic. Because of perpetual sell-out conditions, two days prior, my date had purchased six tickets for the triple date that we had planned. The movie itself plays out a metaphorical representation of the fate of America, and is therefore largely pertinent to the theme of Jeremiah 18 (p. 966 and 967) and 1 Nephi 17, as well as to the words listed on pages 966 and 967 of my Webster's dictionary, especially the word wreck.

Wurston

Another connection from the evening's event, by word correlation, is the name of one of the couples that went to the movie with us, Dean and Kathy Wurston. Back in November, I did a word study on Dean's name, and had written his name in the margin of my dictionary. It is on the bottom of page 967.

Hey, Val

When I came out of the movie, there, beautiful as could be, standing in the theater lobby, was an old girlfriend, Val. I had not seen her for more than two years. In the short time we had known each other, we had nurtured a deep bond of love, notwithstanding some serious differences in our approaches to life. She tended toward materialism and I toward religious fanaticism. When she discovered that I had been excommunicated for "apostasy," she would having nothing more to do with me. Now, after all this time, there she was. As I went up to her and spoke with her, it was plain that the rift was still present, but so was the strong love, though held reserve by the conflict in both our hearts because of the difference of our worlds.

The reason I mention this item of personal history is that her first name is found (alphabetically inserted) in my dictionary just after page 925 (25 x 37). Here I had just spent a second full day working on this write-up, the last thing being the comments about pages 925 in the Webster's and in Zodhiates; and now, that very evening, I run into Val, whose name happens to appear in this region of the words.

926 (page in Webster's where Val... inserts) is also a Messianic number, being the total of the Greek form, , "the Messiah." Some of the obviously relevant words on page 926 of Webster's are: valiant, valid, valor, and value.

Word 926 in the Greek lexicon means, "Weighty, i.e. important," and the next word means, "of great price, very precious or valuable:" another identical word validation.

In the movie Titanic, the main character, Rose, who had in her possession perhaps the worlds most precious diamond, the heart of the ocean, given to her as a token of how great she would be as the intended wife of a prince, upon recognizing that true value is in her own heart transformed by goodness, ended up tossing the gem into the sea as a token of her priority, a priority crystalized by the wrenching choice she made on that fated voyage.

Matching this idea of the pull toward the world's elitism, the word just before the insertion point of "Val," as if juxtaposed for contrast, is "Vaisya: A member of the third caste..." Providing a second concurrence, the word after the insertion point of "Val..." is "valet: A manservant who attends on a gentleman's person."

Val's address number, 7 8 6 3, resembles 7 6 3. Word number 7 8 6 3 in Hebrew means "elevation, height," matching word number 763, "highland." The word immediately before it means "a gift" (7862), which is the same definition as the very last word (the "omega" word) of the Hebrew lexicon, "gift" (8674). A word after it, 7866, means, "overturning," resembling part of the title I chose earlier in the day (1/16) for this write-up: "Overturn, overturn, overturn." The word after that, 7865 Sion, or Zion, means, "lifted up;" and two words after that mean, "those who return" (7870) and "dwelling" (7871). In the overturning, Zion (where the Lord dwells) replaces Babylon.

There is another link between Val's name and Zion. Recall that word 966 in the Greek lexicon means "house of hunting," which connects to Huntsman, Val's last name. Word 966 derives from the O.T. word, 6719 , "a hunter," which is a few words away from (on the same page as) 6726 Zion.

Strengthening this juxtaposition of good and evil, just three words prior (on p.788) to word 7 8 6 3, Gesenius lists the word, " Satan;" and on the reverse side of the page (817) with the definition, "overturn," is the word Shiloh (7886). Which side Val chooses is up to her, but there is no doubt that she will be a valiant warrior if she follows her heart just like Rose.

Deepening the irony, another word prior to 7 8 6 3 is " Inundation, flood; to rush swiftly," with the example cited of "Dan. 9:2 6; 'his end (cometh) as a flood,' i.e. suddenly." Word 9 2 6 (37 x 25 + 1) in the Hebrew lexicon means, "To tremble, be in trepidation; to be terrified, struck with fear; to perish suddenly; to be hastened, swift." (Remember, page 926 in my Webster's dictionary, next after 925, is where the name, Val/Val... may be inserted alphabetically. I should note that it was several days after (1/23/98) first writing this paragraph that I noticed that Daniel 9:26 has the digits 926. The links are everywhere.)

Speaking of connections, consider this sobering metaphor: As went the Titanic so will go America: in an instant suddenly.

So what will it be, Val..., First Class with the elite of the world or down with the weak things of the world who will thrash the nations by the power of the Spirit and inherit the earth? Which do you love more, the elitism of haughty, hypocritical Mormondom, whose salt has lost its savor or the Jack-Mormon, who has been cast out from their society? Follow your heart, Val. In God's scripting, only the bravely meek survive. The word just before Shiloh means, "an oar" (7885).

{2/5/98 note: a couple of weeks after this chance meeting, Val made it clear that she was not the least interested in pursuing anything.}

Word and Page # 763 in Zodhiates' N.T. Lexicon

There is a direct link between word 763 and page number 763 in Zodhiates N.T. Lexicon. This link is likewise connected to the work of Messiah as pertaining to the last transition when the times of the Gentiles comes to and end and Israel is redeemed.

"Blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: for this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins." (Rom. 11:25-27.)

763: "Holiness" vs. "Ungodliness"

Word 763 in the N.T. Greek lexicon means, "Impiety toward God, ungodliness, lack of reverence; wickedness in general, neglect or violation of duty toward God, our neighbor or ourselves, joined with and springing from impiety toward God."

Page 763 of the Greek lexicon includes a definition spanning from the previous page, which means the opposite: "Sacred" (2413). On page 763, one of the antonyms given for this word is, "765, impious." Word 763 derives "from 765." Hence page 763 and word 763 are directly linked. Setting forth the opposite of "ungodliness," some of the synonyms listed on page 763 for this word are, "4586, modest, venerable, honorable, worthy; 53, clean, pure, free from defilement; 3741; sacred, 2152, pious; 2126, devout, one who acquiesces to that which God permits; 2318, reverent of God; 2321, a friend of God."

The next word on page 763 is 2414 Hierosoluma, Jerusalem. I used to think that the word Jerusalem was derived from "ur," or city, and "shalom," peace, for "city of peace." However, this context tells me that the more appropriate meaning of the word is "heiros," or holy, and "shalom," peace: "holy peace." Confirming not just the sentiment but the actual validity of this translation, according to Zodhiates, "The Arabs today call it [Jerusalem] El Kods, The Holy."

The peace the world brings, New World Order brand, means absence of militaristic conflict, which requires amassing violent "peacekeeping" troops. The peace that comes from God stems from the heart, and hence is of God and is real Israel. That is the destiny of these lands now torn by conflict. The New World Order will only bring chaos and destruction. Christ will bring peace . . . holy peace . . . Jerusalem, the new Jerusalem, the new wine. Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17.

Turn Away From all "Ungodliness"

The final admonition given in the Book of Mormon includes the key statement, "Come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness." (Moro. 10:32.)

Paul also makes reference to this ungodliness, and expounds the great irony that setting forth one's own works is ungodliness, instead of establishing the righteousness of God, which flows from God by the power of the Holy Ghost a gift from God through the heart changed by God. The focus is on God, the power comes from God, the righteousness comes from God. When we go about to establish our own righteousness, it is ungodliness, no matter how seemingly altruistic those "works" may be.

What an irony! Yet it is true. The whole reason our world is in the mess it is in now is because men are leaning on the arm of flesh, on their own supposedly exalted intelligence. The New World Order and the secret cabals that undergird its directives are based completely on man's worship of his own brawn and intelligence. The humanism that has replaced God-centeredness focuses on man's abilities. The New Age religious philosophy that is sweeping the world's psyche focuses on the "god within ourselves" calling man himself as he now is, "god." They replace reverence for God with worship of the "god within," redefining scriptural history and doctrine to their doctrine of self exaltation.

Man is not god. To call ourselves god without turning to God and being perfected in Him, is like little Natalie sitting down at the piano last night banging on the keys in imitation of what she saw me doing, and thinking herself a great piano player. God Almighty, who rules in the heavens, the earth being his footstool, He is God. And he is going to make bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess by the time he is done.

The scriptures both amply illustrate and doctrinally expound the difference between our flesh-limited efforts and what we may accomplish with God. One of my favorite scriptures is JST-Genesis 14:26-31:

"Now Melchizedek was a man of faith, who wrought righteousness; and when a child he feared God, and stopped the mouths of lions, and quenched the violence of fire.

"And thus, having been approved of God, he was ordained an high priest after the order of the covenant which God made with Enoch, it being after the order of the Son of God; which order came, not by man, nor the will of man; neither by father nor mother; neither by beginning of days nor end of years; but of God; and it was delivered unto men by the calling of his own voice, according to his own will, unto as many as believed on his name.

"For God having sworn unto Enoch and unto his seed with an oath by himself; that every one being ordained after this order and calling should have power, by faith, to break mountains, to divide the seas, to dry up the waters, to turn them out of their course; to put at defiance the armies of nations, to divide the earth, to break every band, to stand in the presence of God; to do all things according to his will, according to his command, subdue principalities and powers; and this by the will of the Son of God which was from before the foundation of the world."

This is our ideal, not some warm, fuzzy, self-elevating affirmation mumbo jumbo that compares in glory to God's work as Satan's appearance to Moses contrasted with God's appearance. (Moses 1:11-15.) They were both "light," but Satan has no glory, nor can he deliver on his promise to deliver. He can only captivate. Deliverance comes through God.

Page 763 in the LDS Bible Dictionary is Parallel to Words in the Vicinity of Word 7 8 6 3 in Hebrew

While sitting in a sacrament meeting Sunday (1/18), I opened the LDS Bible Dictionary to page 763 to see if I might find anything of relevance to this study regarding Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17. I could see at first glance that there were some correlations, and on closer inspection, I realized that the connections are extremely strong in several regards. Several of the entries are verbatim with the entries that surround word 7 8 6 3.

First Sentence: "Vision of Nephi"

The first sentence on page 763 is, "This is consistent with the visions given to Nephi, ..."

First Topic Heading: "Revenge"

The first topic on page 763 is "Revenge," which connects to the idea of the day of the Lord's vengeance, which ties into the theme of Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17, namely that nations/individuals that have been set up and blessed by the Lord, who turn from their righteousness are ripe for removal and replacement by nations/individuals more righteous.

Rezin and the Flood of Assyria

Another heading on the page is "Rezin. King of Assyria." One of the scriptures sited is Isaiah 8:6-8:

"Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son; Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks: and he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel."

This matches several of the words surrounding word 7 8 6 3 in Hebrew. For the idea of flooding, or sudden and overpowering destruction, words 7857 and 7856 include the definitions, "overflowing, inundating, flooding, overwhelming, gushing out, flow out abundantly, swallow up with water, sweep away with the flood, to bring in as with a flood, to rush swiftly, effusion, outpouring." The word Shiloh is on the next page, word #7886. Words 7883 and 7884 have reference to "the river."

River: "The River of Egypt"

Word 7883 is a reference, specifically, to "the river Nile" or "the river of Egypt." Another heading on page 763 of the LDS Bible Dictionary is "River. See Egypt, River of." This word-exact correlation further validates the previous metaphorical/prophetic ramifications for the destruction that awaits us today.

Rod: "Shepherd, Authority, Prophet of the Restoration."

Another heading on page 763 is "Rod." One of the comments made is that "a shepherd's rod...was used to beat wolves away from the herd," which fits soundly the theme of Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17. As an antonym corollary to this, word 7876, which is listed just five words after where 7 8 6 3 belongs (on page 817 of the lexicon), means, "To forget, to neglect; whence want of care; to omit." I think of Jeremiah 23, which talks about the shepherds "that destroy and scatter the sheep," "For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord." (23:1,11.) Isaiah 56:10-12 is another key one that talks about "shepherds that cannot understand," comparing them to "watchmen" that are "blind."

The Lord's people have strayed from the Lord, and the Lord has given them blind leaders according to the desires of their hearts, leaders who prophecy smooth things such as, "All is well." Instead of erecting a tower to enable them to see approaching danger and serve as watchmen, according to the allegory of D&C 101, they have given their money to the exchangers. Instead of warning the flock of the approaching enemy, they have become friends and made leagues with the enemy that is poised to devour the flock. The wolves have come in our midst and the blind leaders only drive out those who call attention to the wolves, who are their friends. Such a state cannot endure for long.

Another definition under Rod on page 763 is, "A prophet of the restoration (D&C 113.)" D&C 113 speaks of one who will come "unto whom rightly belongs the priesthood, and the keys of the kingdom, for an ensign, and for the gathering of my people." Ezekiel 21:25-27 is relevant here too:

"And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end, thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.

Recall that the word after "overturning" (7866) in the Lexicon is "those who return" (7870).

The prophet of the gathering spoken of in D&C 113 is referred to as the "root of Jesse." Isaiah 11:1, which speaks of the rod that springs from the stem, or Christ, in parallel language structure continues, "and a Branch shall grow out of his roots." The word/name Shiloh, which follows shortly in the Hebrew lexicon, is synonymous with "He whose right it is."

"Roll" and Right, "Write"

After "Rod" on page 763 comes the heading "Roll. A book in ancient times...." Matching this in the Hebrew Lexicon in the vicinity of word 7 8 6 3 is word 7860, which comes from the root, , "To write, whence, a scribe; hence the art of writing." Then showing the derivation of word 7860 , , the definition continues, "a scribe and judge, a magistrate, prefect of the people, to excel in any thing."

(435) 445- "Righteousness"/"Salvation" and "Whose Right it is"

In turning just now (1/19) to page 445 in the Topical Guide to see what is there, I first flipped past page 435, and stopped to consider the contents of that page. I was not expecting them to be relevant to the present study, though I should have anticipated that such would be the case. The digits, 435, make up the new Utah area code phone prefix starting from last September for all areas outside the Wasatch Front, which retained the 801 code.

There are three topics on Page 435 of the LDS Topical Guide. Two of them overlap, one from the previous page and one to the next page. The one word that is exclusive to page 763 is "rightly," which references D&C 113:6, and happens to have been what I just wrote about above.

The last word on page 435 is "ring" which symbolizes the authority of a king."

The first word on this page, that spills over from the previous page, is "righteousness." Recall from above that the book of Isaiah contains exactly 66 verses having the words "righteousness" and/or "salvation," which are code words for the Messianic calling, Christ (37) and David (25). Recall the significance of the number 66 and its relation to the word.

The other half of this equation is found on page 445 of the Topical Guide (445 = Fountain Green phone prefix), on which there are five headings, all of which are various sub-categories of "salvation, ...," except the first one, which spills over from the previous page, which is simply the word, "salvation."

The word "righteousness" does not appear in the Bible Dictionary, but if it did, its insertion point alphabetically is on page 763, the phone prefix of Alpine, Highland, American Fork, and the chapter number of Jeremiah 18.

There is much more that has already been recorded and that could be said and shown about phone prefixes and area codes and the respective page numbers and word numbers in the Hebrew and Greek lexicons, but let this suffice at present for the current study. As to the ramifications of this, I believe it provides evidence through the word, the very words of scripture and their arrangement by the Lord, to the minutest detail verifying the prophecies that David, the branch that grows out of the root, the latter-day advent Messiah/Shiloh will come from among the LDS population, but not from Salt Lake City headquarters.

Page 444: Jerusalam, Salt Lake City, Saints and Salvation

The contents of the page prior to 445 are worthy of careful note as well. One of the themes of Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17 is the idea of the old wine being superseded by the new wine, the overturning of the apostate old with the replenished and improved new. In the Lord's favorite equation, the first shall be last, and the last shall be first, we find that the transition in which we now find ourselves as Gentiles is on a parallel with the transition the Jews faced at the time Jesus came among them and fulfilled the law. When they crucified him, the kingdom was taken from them and taken to the Gentiles. Likewise, when the Gentiles mar the Davidic servant, their day will come to closure and the time of Israel will come in all its splendor. Hence, the cities of Jerusalem and Salt Lake City are on a tight parallel. The one represents the ancient site of overturning, and the other represents the modern site.

There on page 444 is an amazing play on words that juxtaposes these two scenes of action impacting the destiny of the planet. The topic spilling over from the previous page is, "Saints." Next is "Salem." I think of JeruSalem. Next, after this, is "Salt," which obviously links to Salt Lake City. Next is "Salutation," which is the idea of appellations, or names, such as we are considering. The last word is "Salvation."

Jerusalem, which means, "holy peace," has never been so, notwithstanding its call by the Lord. Neither has Salt Lake City been the salt of the world and the saviors of men, though they too were called to be so. Nevertheless, the stone which the builders rejected, the same will become the headstone of their corner. This is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.

Jeremiah 18 and 1 Nephi 17 will be fulfilled. Though the saints refuse it now, Zion will come; Shiloh will come; Jerusalem will come; and yes, they will be the salt of the earth truly; for "out of the midst of her" will come a remnant, the new wine, to usher in the new heaven and the new earth, for thus are the covenants, and they shall be fulfilled. Tunkasila Wakan Tanka (Great God, the Father in Heaven), let it be so. Mitaku Oyasi (Amen).
