Definition of "gore" in the English Dictionary
In other cultures, the meanings of names are taken very
seriously. Not always do people's lives coincide with the meaning of
their name, but more often than not they do. Here is the meaning of
"gore" in Webster's '61 English dictionary.
1gore 1 now dial Brit : a
caked mass of filth or dirt of any kind 2 a : Blood; esp :
thick or clotted blood b archaic : a pool or mass of blood.
2gore 1 a : a small triangular piece of land b : a
relatively small unassigned or disputed tract of land lying between larger
political divisions.
4gore 1 : to pierce or penetrate with a pointed
instrument 2 : to pierce or wound with the horns or tusk.
These definitions come on page 980. For what it's
worth, word 980 in the New Testament lexicon, bioo, means
"to live, to pass one's life," with derivative biosis, manner
of life. It is very close in vicinity to 979, bios from which the
word "biography" is derived.
Page 980 of Zodhiates'
NT lexicon has the following definitions
3364 ou me not at all, no never.
3365 medamos by no means.
3366 mede Neither, nor, not even.
3367 medeis Not even one, no one.
What does that mean?
Words around "gore" in Gesenius' Old Testament
Lexicon
The words "gore"/"gored" are found in one
place in the Old Testament: Exodus 21:28,31 and are used in the sense of
definition 4 above.
They are word number 5055 in Gesenius Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon
to the Old Testament, which lists all the (Hebrew) words alphabetically.
That line-up of 5055 is curious considering the 666 that is
the sum of the name "al gore" in ASCII
code.
Word 5505 (switching the numbers around in the middle) in the
OT lexicon means "(1) mart, emporium; (2) wealth resulting from
merchandize"
Word 5505 in the NT lexicon (Zodhiates) is on a page that faces
the definition for word 5516, ch x s which is the word that stands for
666 in Rev. 13:18.
Word 5055 in that same NT lexicon is of particular interest in
our context:
5055 teleo To make and end or to accomplish,
to complete something, not merely to end it, but to bring it to perfection
or its destined goal, to carry it through.
That seems like a noble trait, and indeed many might ascribe
this trait to Al Gore. The question is, to what end? It's
not enough just to stand for something, unless attention is paid to what is
being stood for. The word definition for 5505 ends with the following
explanations:
5055 . . . (II) To accomplish, fulfill, execute fully
a rule or law....
(III) By implication, to pay off or in full, such as taxes, tribute,
which is also the meaning of telos (5056). A
tax, toll, custom.
Hmmm.
We still haven't looked at the words round 5055 in the Gesenius' Old Testament lexicon.
One thing about word and number definitions is that there is a
phenomenon of opposites so that for virually every name and number there is an
opposite meaning or manifestation. Which one is applicable to us is
really up to us, for we are all free to choose
In the case of Al Gore, if he were a God-fearing, meek soldier
for the Lord, then we might without hesitation apply the positive meanings in
conjunction with his name. However, to be more honest with reality, the
opposite ramifications ought to be considered as well.
5048 the front part, the front, the side of a thing
which is next to the spectator.
A public figure comes to mind.
5050 to shine, to be bright; (1) to make (one's own
light) to shine; (2) to illuminate.
The conspiratorial illuminate comes to mind. Lucifer
means 'light bearer,' and he and his followers loves to present their case as
if it were the one true light.
Words 5051 through 5054 all have to do with light, shining,
and brightness.
5055 to push, strike with the horn, used of horned
animals. ...Used figuratively of a victor, who prostrates the nations before
him; ...to wage war.
5056 apt to push
In a positive sense, Gen. 49 refers to Joseph as being one who
will push together the tribes of Israel form the ends of the earth, or gather
them. The negative manifestation would involved the use of tyrannical
force to bring about a counterfeit of this unification of the world.
5057 a prince, a leader, ruler.
This definition, in such close proximity to word 5055, which
is the word translated "gore" in Exo. 21, lends strength to the idea
of there being an intended correlation here.
Word 5055 on Page 531
All these definitions above, 5048 (last half) through 5057
(and more) are found on page 531 of Gesenius'
OT lexicon. Word number 531 in the NT lexicon (Zodhiates) means
"unchangeable." This is reminiscent of the various parody
occurrences of the word "foundation"
in relation to the words surrounding "bush" in the New and Old
Testament lexicon. In those instances, the folly of trusting in the arm of
flesh was contrasted with the wisdom of trusting in God. Here, that the
opposite meaning is intended is highlighted in that the single antonym given
is word 2000, "insecure." 2000, of course, is the year of this
current election.
[See the extensive study on the number 531 in relation to the Book of
Mormon.]
Word 531 in the OT lexicon means "strong," and the
two words before and after it have the meaning of "firmness, security,
faithfulness." And word 534 means "the head, top,
summit."
Striking a contrast with the arrogance of those who suppose
they are the ones in charge when it is God who is ultimately in charge here,
the next word means:
535,536 to languish, to droop, to hang down the head;
to be sad, of a land laid waste, of walls thrown down.
Word 2000 in the NT lexicon means, "literally, near to
falling, ready to fall, not firm, insecure, dangerous."

Alphabetics.]

Chiasm around "gore" in Strong's Exhaustive
Concordance of the Bible
. . The words surrounding "Gore" in Strong's
Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible seem to address the notion of the
anti-Christ sitting at the heart, and needing to be removed by God. Listed in
alphabetical order, the words are arranged in a chiasm with "Gore"
in the center:
A.. . Golan (in Bashan [oaks of Bashan])

A.. . grain
["corn"]
This chiasm was originally discovered in 1997 in relation to a
study
on the names of the current LDS 'prophet,' Gordon Bitner Hinckley. The
center of the above chiasm is actually the name "Gordon."
Curiously, the name Gore is alphabetically quite close to the
word "gospel" in the English language.
With this juxtaposition of the name "Gordon" and
"Gore," it is interesting to note that the first endorsement on the
back cover of President Hinckley's book, Standing for Something, is by
Senator Joseph Lieberman, a liberal democrat who is avidly pro-abortion,
including partial birth abortions. But whose to complain? The
endorsement did help to get the book onto the New York Times bestseller
list. Think of all the lives that will be touched for "good" .
. . right? Senator Lieberman certainly stands for something. And
now he is vice presidential candidate, increasing the 'credibility' of the
endorsement of Hinckley's book.
Hmmm. With all these references to worldly foundations
toppling, who will remain standing when God is through with the great division
that is coming, when the wheat are separated from the tares?
