scrolb14.gif (1380 bytes) Introduction

In the document "Year 2000 in the Bible" we discuss the meanings of word 2000 in the New Testament lexicon and word 2000 in the Old Testament lexicon (numbering by James Strong).

Now we will look at significant words in Zodhiates' New Testament lexicon which list word 2000 either as an antonym or as a synonym.  We will even look at certain page numbers to show just how powerful our God is that he could create such a line-up of evidences along with the commentary they provide.

scrolb14.gif (1380 bytes) 531 =Total pages in current LDS Book of Mormon

Word 531 in Zodhiates' New Testament lexicon lists one antonym:  "episphalesi (2000), insecure."  Take a look now at the whole definition.

531   aparabotos (from a (1), without, and parabaino (3845), to go beyond, transgress). Unchangeable.   Only in Heb. 7:24, speaking of the unchangeable, eternal priesthood of Christ.
Syn. (1476 and 277), immovable; (276), unchangeable; (4731), solid, stable, steadfast; (949), firm.
    Ant. (2000), insecure.

This brings to mind the quintessential scriptural description of Jesus Christ as the one sure rock upon which man might build and have safe foundation -- that there is no other immovable foundation upon which man might build. (I Corinthians 10:4; II Nephi 25:20; 28:28; Helaman 5:12; III Nephi 11:39,40.) Any other foundation is a sandy foundation, "insecure," and bound to fall.

I do not think it insubstantial coincidence that this definition happens to be word number 531, seeing as that is the number of pages in the Book of Mormon: Another Witness of Jesus Christ, which confirms along side the Bible that Jesus is the Christ, the very Savior of the World; God incarnate.

scrolb14.gif (1380 bytes) Ant. word 1476, page 1476, and Alpha

An antonym listed for word 2000, "near to falling, ready to fall, not firm, insecure, dangerous," is word 1476, "steadfast."

On page 1476 of Zodhiates' New Testament Lexicon are three consecutive words meaning "one thousand" (5505-5507).  On the opposite page is the word (5516) for "six hundred sixty six" or 666.

1,000 is the number of aleph which is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and stands for God.  Further, aleph is equivalent to the Greek Alpha, which is often used in reference to deity.  I'd say God (1,000) and 666 are opposites, and that "God" fits the description of "steadfast."

scrolb14.gif (1380 bytes) Ant. word 949, page 949, and Omega

Another antonym listed for word 2000 is word 949, "stable."

All the words on page 949 in Zodhiates' New Testament Lexicon tie into the idea of God.  The last word on the page is 3156, "gift of God."  "Gift" is the meaning of the very last word, or the omega word, in the Old Testament Lexicon.  Furthermore, "gift" certainly fits into the idea of the salvation given us of God.

The first four words (3152-3155) on page 949 mean "worthless" or "useless."  An antonym is word 5624 (listed for word 3152), "profitable," which happens to be the very last, or omega word in the New Testament lexicon.  A further irony here is that "useless" is also the definition of word 888, and 888 is the sum of the numeric values of the letters which spell Jesus in Greek.  Jesus was cast aside by his own as being "useless."  (See Jesus 888 = Christ 1480)

So page 1476 ties into alpha and page 929 ties into omega, which certainly points to Christ, who is alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, the "sure" foundation.

The opposite is represented by the first word (3152) spilling onto page 949,

"Vain, empty, fruitless, aimless.  It is building houses on sand."

Ironically, one of the words use to describe the idea of "worthlessness" in word 3154 is "foolish."  The idea of "wise" versus "foolish" virgins comes to mind.  "Foolish" is the definition of word number 801.  The telephone area code for Wasatch Front Utah is 801, where many indications (including this one) suggest that the Lord's people there have largely become as salt that has lost its savor which is therefore good for nothing but to be cast out and trodden under feet.  (See write-up on Mormons and 801.)

Word 949 (antonym of 2000) means,

"fixed, sure, certain; figuratively that upon which one may build, rely, or trust; that which does not fail or waver, immovable, and on which one may rely."

In addition to thinking of the Lord as being the only one one which we may unalterably rely, a scripture comes to mind which admonishes the people who have been born of God to

". . . be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all.  Amen."  (Mosiah 6:15.)

In opposite contrast, the two words prior to word 949 mean "Abomination, detestable" (947), and "To cause to be abhorred, to feel disgust, detest."  This brings to mind the idea of the great and abominable church. I find it personally interesting that the first antonym listed for this word is number 4834, "to sympathize," which happens to be one digit away from my fiancé's phone suffix (which word by that number has the same meaning as word 4834). The other antonym is 1670, "to attract."

scrolb14.gif (1380 bytes) Ant. word 804, page 804, and Messiah

Words 803, 804, and 805 all have the meaning of "firm, immovable."  In contrast to the spirit of Mosiah 6:15 above, word 802 means,

"A breaker of a covenant or agreement, faithless, treacherous. Paul uses it referring to those who, being in covenant and treaty with others, refuse to abide by their agreements"

which brings to mind Isaiah 28:14-19

"We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement... ...We have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves."

The word prior to 802 is 801, which means "foolish."  As 801 is the telephone area code of Wasatch Front Utah (Mormon capital of the world), so is Isaiah 28 addressed to the "drunkards of Ephraim."  It's ironic therefore that one of the antonyms of word 801 is 3524, "circumspect, sober, free from the influence of intoxicants and avoiding them."  Utah, famous for being the "dry state"! Perhaps in outward practice, but the scriptures portray the spiritual reality as being otherwise.   There is some major intoxication going on.  "All is well."

On page 804 (word 804 is antonym of 2000) is word 2537, which means, "New."  I think of "new wine," which cannot be put into old bottles.  I think of the mighty change of heart whereby we become "new" creatures in Christ -- born again.

What is interesting about the number 2537 is that is consists of the the digits 25, which stands for David and 37 which stand for Christ.  Also, 25 X 37 = 925, which is the sum of the numeric values of the letters which spell Messiah (Messiou) in Greek. 40 + 5 + 200 + 200 + 10 + 70 + 400 = 925 = 25 X 37.

It is through Messiah, the beginning and the end, that we become new creatures.

There are 804 pages in James Talmage's Jesus the Christ, which book appropriately has near canonical status in LDS circles because of its brilliance.

Also, there are 805 pages in my Webster's II New Riverside Dictionary, which confirms yet again the notion of the importance of this approach of looking at the alphabetical sequence of words, especially in Hebrew, Greek and English.

scrolb14.gif (1380 bytes) Syn. 1777 and Bondage

Word 1777 lists as its first synonym word 2000.

1777   enochos (from enecho (1758), to hold in or to be ensnared). Held in, contained in; bound, subject or liable to (Heb. 2:15, "subject to bondage"), guilty, deserving of and subject to punishment, guilty of death; obnoxious, liable to the punishment inflicted by a tribunal.
Syn. episphales (2000), prone to fall, dangerous; (5267), under judgement, guilty; (3848), transgressor; (459), lawless
    Ant. (514), worthy, (2425), able; (121), innocent; (2570), good; (1342), just.

What is noteworthy here is that 1777 as a year A.D. is when the United States of America was in the thick of war for Independence from Great Britain.  They were yet in bondage.  (See Words 1770 through 1792 in the Greek N.T. Lexicon and the Birth of the United States of America.)  Therefore, that word 1777 would list as its first synonym word number 2000 brings to mind that the war for independence is not complete, as we are sitting ducks for international bondage to the socialistic New World Order, having gradually sold ourselves for naught.

scrolb14.gif (1380 bytes) More

While what is shown above is a pretty impressive compilation of coinciding concepts relating to the year 2000, it is but a portion of what could be mentioned.  More could have been said about each of the above points, and there are other words in the New Testament lexicon which make reference to word 2000 as either a synonym or antonym.   Some of these may be appended to this document in the future.

All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
