bullet  Introduction

I made this discovery in the course of doing the write-up on "First, Last, Meridian Words & Numbers and Messiah."

I noticed that word 1130 in the New Testament lexicon and word and word 5783 in the Old Testament lexicon which mean "to be naked," are both preceded by a word that means "watching."

Word 5783 marks the two-thirds-of-the-way-through point in the Old Testament lexicon.   The total number of words, 8674, multiplied by 2/3 is 5782.66

My personal curiosity was aroused in this match inasmuch as November 30 [1130] is my birthday, and yes, I was born naked.

My years of study with uncovering chiasms and parallels trained me such that when there is a sequence of two matching points, there just very well may be other matches before and/or after them.

In this case, it turns out that there are at least forty consecutive matches between the definitions given in Zodhiates' Complete Word Study Dictionary: New Testament and Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon to the Old Testament.

The sequence does not follow the numbering of James Strong in the Old Testament, but rather follows the often revised alphabetical word sequence rendered by H.W.F Gesenius.  Hence you will see a sometimes non-sequential flow of word numbering in the left-hand column below.

I say "at least forty consecutive matches" because I can see that the parallel continues in both directions beyond the forty matches I have set forth below.   For example, word 1107 in Zodhiates "To make known" and word 5930 (listed just prior to 5768) in Gesenius, "(1) iniquity, (2) burnt offering," captures the theme that seems to be carried in the match up -- making known the iniquity of man in rejecting his God.

The words before that have a similar pairing, but are more superficially obvious. Word 1106 in Zodhiates,

"Capacity of judgement, faculty of discernment as far as conduct is concerned; (I) as implying will, in the sense of accord, consent; (II) opinion, judgement, in reference to oneself,"

pairs with word 5766 in Gesenius: "the wicked," which calls to our minds the importance of coming to an awareness of our fallen natures, which need to be brought into harmony with the Spirit so that our hearts can be transformed into their full godly potential.

Indeed, the main topic of the messages that emerge in the progressive pairing seems to center on the paradoxical love-hate relationship between God and man, in which God performs acts of mercy for the benefit of his children, who for the most part resent him in return, but in the end are redeemed.

The matches following the forty I have indicated below pair "debtedness" with "strength," for it is in our coming to an awareness of our natural bankruptcy that we are able to come forth with a broken heart and contrite spirit, receive a mighty change of heart, and be made strong in the Lord.

It turns out that this line-up (including the matches just mentioned) begins on page 377 of Zodhiates.  That happens to be the last of eight pages that are parallel between Zodhiates, Gesenius, and Webster's '71.   That discovery is centered around the word "gold" as a metaphor for women in general and Heavenly Mother in specific.  "God," and "gold" come in close vicinity in the English alphabet.  It turns out that key words on the page where those words are found are parallel with key words on the pages with that same number in Zodhiates NT lexicon and in Gesenius OT lexicon.  "To be" in Zodhiates, and "Being" in Gesenius.  The parallel extends from page 370 to page 377, where the current parallel begins.

The same phenomenon was discovered around the word 'Silver' and pages 781 through 785 of those same three Hebrew, Greek and English dictionary/lexicons.  The last page of the match, for example has the word "sit" in Webster's '71, "set in a row, arrange" in Gesenius, and "set or place, establish" in Zodhiates; which calls to mind the crux prophecy in Daniel 7:9-11.

"I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit . . . .  The judgment was set, and the books were opened. . . . I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame."

On the individual level, that beast is our own carnal nature that must be purged from us through the baptism of fire, so that God can dwell in our hearts.  On the societal level, that beast is the pompous arrogance of the New World Order that seeks to govern the world by the brain and brawn of the arm of flesh.  This tyranny is going to burn itself out, with only those whose trust is in God remaining -- which people will be glad to have God him(&her)self (along with the army of those who overcome all things) to sit as their truly benevolent king.

5768 'owlel A boy, a child.

[a suckling:--babe, (young) child, infant, little one. (James Strong)]

1108 gnosis Knowledge. Present and fragmentary as contrasted with epignosis (1922), clear and exact knowledge which expresses a more thorough participation in the object or knowledge on the part of the knowledgeable subject.
(I) The power of knowing, intelligence, comprehension ("the love of Christ surpassing comprehension")
(II) Subjectively spoken of what one knows, knowledge. Of a deeper and better Christian knowledge, both theoretical and experimental.
(III) Objectively spoken of what is known, the object of knowledge, generally knowledge, doctrine, science....

What a contrast between knowledge and innocence!  This opposing match provides an important reminder that except we put off the natural man and become as a child, we cannot see the kingdom of God.  Knowledge alone is not sufficient to save anyone.  It is the humility and submissiveness to God that enables communion with God -- a personal walk and conversion with God.

I might mention that this discovery was opened to me on November 9, 1999 (11/09/99).

see 5955 'olelah Gleanings. 1109 gnostes One who knows (Acts 26:3).

Searching through to the depths of a matter.

5769 'owlam [sounds like] (A) What is hidden; specially hidden time, long; the beginning or end of which is either uncertain or else not defined; eternity, perpetuity.  (1) It is used of time long past, antiquity. (2) It more often refers to future time, is always defined from the nature of the thing itself; (a) all the days of life, for ever; (b) it belongs to a whole race (dynasty), or people, and it comprehends all the time until their destruction; (c) the metaphysical idea of eternity; (d) the true notion of eternity; (e) ...There is evoked for the king, and particularly for David and his royal posterity, and empire not less enduring than the universe itself.
(B) The World, hence the desire or pursuit of worldly things.
1110 gnostos Known.
    (I) ...what may be known of God or the knowledge of God.  ...Man's knowledge of God. In an emphatic sense, known of all, i.e., notable, incontrovertible.
(II) An acquaintance. A specific syn. is phaneros (5318), visible, manifest, known.
    Deriv.: agnostos [agnostic] (57), unknown.

In the spirit of, "and this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent" (John 17:3), this comparison is most amazing and filled with paradoxical light.

The mystery of God is addressed as well as hints given as to the unraveling of this unknowable mystery.  Also, the contrast between the carnal pursuit of worldly knowledge versus the exalting quest for eternal, divine wisdom is set forth in a parody.

Tucked away in the margin of Gesenius' definition, following the statement, "...so long as the sun and moon endure throughout all generations..." is an asterisk next to the statement "his name shall be .-&3- for ever."

At the bottom of the page, the asterisk explanation states, "For 5770 see Strong."

In other words, this word that is equated with the name of God comes immediately after the word above that means "what is hidden and eternal."

James Strong defines word 5770 as follows:

5770 0&3 'avan (from 5869) To watch (with jealousy): -- eye.

This word "watch" brings to mind the scripture, "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come."

In other words, coming to know God is equated with vigilance, carefully looking forward to the fulfillment of the prophecies and aligning one's life in accordance with the will of God that is taught by the Spirit of God to those who diligently seek.

Speaking to the Gentiles, the scriptures state: "For the people of the Lord are they who wait for him; for they still wait for the coming of the Messiah."  (II Nephi 6:13.)

In contrast (from the previous verse) the slothful, without the benefit of wisdom, end up "fighting against Zion" and they "unite themselves to that great and abominable church" (6:12), which is manifest most blatantly as the socialist New World Order with its religious and political dogmas that seek to overturn God and his kingdom.

'own To rest, to dwell; convenience, rest; to live tranquilly. 1111 gogguzo A onomatopoetic word derived from the sound made when murmuring or muttering in a low and indistinct voice with the idea of complaint. To murmur, mutter.
Ant. (2127), to speak well of, bless; (3106), to declare as blessed or having been indwelt by God and thus fully satisfied.

1112 gogusmos Grumbling, grudging, murmuring.
Ant. (2129), blessing, when God or others speak well of us or we do the same thing for others; (3108), an inscription of blessedness that one is indwelt by God and consequently is fully satisfied.

Jesus Christ came down in the flesh among the Jews who did not wish to have anything to do with him.  The same is proving to be true of the Messianic Davidic advent of the Father among the Mormons.  Yet the promise is that "I will not leave you comfortless."  (John 14:17.)  God sends us the first comforter, even the Holy Ghost, whereby he dwells in our hearts, and he promises to make himself fully known as the Second Comforter for those who are steadfast and immovable.

(And interesting commentary on what 1111 is about, for those who notice that they have an uncanny knack for looking at their clock just when it 11:11, for example.)

*5772 'ownah Conjugal cohabitation.

[to dwell together, duty of marriage (Strong)]

1113 goggustes A grumbler, murmurer. (loidoros [3060], a railer, reviler.)

The Lord compares his relationship to the Church as a bridegroom with a bride.   He desires union, but the recalcitrant church insists upon separation.

see 5869(a) on p. 622 'ayin (1) To flow, to flow out, as water, tears; whence the eye, a fountain; (2) looking askance, envious.

[askance: Sideways; obliquely; out of one corner of the eye. (Webster '71)]

1114 goes A conjurer, and enchanter; a deceiver, an impostor.

'ayin'Ayin (word 5869) is the 16th letter of the Hebrew alphabet.  Its symbol represents the penitent man with arms up-reaching to heaven.

As so many words, its two definitions have opposite meanings.  One carries the connotation of sincerity, broken heart and contrite spirit -- the tears flowing freely from the eyes which are the window to the soul.  The other carries the notion of dishonesty or duplicity (hence the fitting match with the correlate word in Greek).

Another meaning we might read between the lines here is the sorrow that pierces God's soul as he comes among them in the flesh and they treat him as a thing of naught, yet he suffers it for the sake of the redemption that will be wrought.

5771 'ownah Perversity, depravity; (1) a depravedaction, a crime, a sin.  It is often guilt contracted by sinning as "the guilt of the father," Ex. 20:5; 34:7; "the guilt of the Amorites," Gen. 15:16; "the guilt of my sin," Ps. 32:5; also any thing unjustly acquired. In speaking of pardon and expiation of sin, the words [...] are used. (2) Sometimes it is the penalty of sin, Isaiah 5:18; calamity, misery. 1115 Golgotha Golgotha, the name of the place where Jesus was crucified.

This match is a pretty incredible validation of the New Testament message by the Old Testament.

5773 'av'eh Depravities, perversities. 1116 Gomorra Gomorrah meaning submersion. One of the five cities in the valley of Siddim destroyed for its wickedness.

"And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous..." (Gen. 18:20.)

"Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven..." (Gen. 19:24.)

5774  'uwph To cover; especially with feathers, wings. Isa. 31:5 "as birds which cover (their young) with their wings..." (2) to fly, to fly away; figuratively of an army. 1117 gomos The burden or load of an animal; a ship. Merchandise brought by sea.

This one doesn't seem to have a profound spiritual connection per se, but it is nevertheless related so as to continue the paralleling points.  "Cover" is related to a "load of merchandise" inasmuch as such merchandise is usually covered to protect it from the elements.  The "flying" is contrasted with "shipping by sea."  The word "birds" links to the word "animals."

To try and read some sort of allegorical application into this connection, one might think of the commerce of Babylon, the gathering of wealth, in contrast to the spiritual gathering which is alluded to in this next parallel.

5775 'owph A wing; hence collect. birds, fowl.

[from 5774]

1118 goneus A parent, whether father or mother.

"...as a [mother] hen gathereth her chickens under he wings." (Isa. 31:5; Matt. 23:37; Luke 13:34; III Nephi 10:4-6; D&C 10:65; 29:2; 43:24.)

5776 'owph Chald. i.q. Hebr., Dan. 2:38; 7:6 [fowl] 1119 gonu The knee.

"And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold." (Daniel 2:38.)

5777 owphereth Lead (from its dusty color). [Strong] 1120 gonupeteo To fall down on the knees or kneel before another in supplication; in reverence; [or] in mock homage.

We come before the Lord on bended knee, acknowledging that we are nothing, even less than the dust of the earth, at which point he fills us with fire and with the Holy Ghost, giving us a new heart.

for 5778 see Strong

[from 5775 birdlike]
[which comes from 5774]

1121 gramma That which is written, a letter of the alphabet, a book, letter, bond, and so forth. ...Ta hiera grammata describes the letters of the alphabet as used in Scripture as the object of study or knowledge.

This correlation is of particular interest as it mentions letters and alphabet.  Alphabetics is a major tool as set forth in this Greater Things web site.  See word 5775 above, which links to the idea of the work of the Father; and word 5774 above and the correlations.

5779 I. 'uwts To consult. 1122 grammateus A scribe or writer; hence scholar. The king's "scribe" meant the secretary of state.

A consular is certainly similar in meaning to a scribe or secretary of state.

II. 'uwts To impress, to immerse oneself, e.g. the foot into sand. 1123 graptos Written, inscribed.

Writing or making impressions in sand that soon blows away versus inscribing the words of life as scripture, especially in the fleshy tables of the heart.

5780 Uwts ("soft and sandy earth") (Uz) [(from 5779 consultation)] pr. n. of a region and tribe in the northern part of the Arabian desert between Palestine, Idumaea [the world], and the Euphrates. 1124 graphe Used in the plural in the NT for the Holy Scriptures, or in the singular for a part of it.

Relying (consulting) on the unshakable foundation built on rock of Christ and his word contrasted to the sandy foundation of man's knowledge.

5781 'uwq To be pressed, straitened; to press down. 1125 grapho To engrave, write; to carve.

One presses down when engraving or writing.

*5786 'avar To be blind; to make blind; to cast dust, sand, chaff into the eye. Metaph. to blind a judge (with gifts). 1126 graodes Of or belonging to old women meaning silly, e.g., old wives' tales.

Both definitions denote a lack of proper spiritual or temporal discretion.  Apply to the idea of the "drunkards of Ephraim," whose prophets even "err in vision and stumble in judgment" (Isa. 28), or the "foolish virgins" (D&C 63:54), the "blind watchmen" (Isa. 56:10; D&C 101:47).

*5787 'ivver Blind. Metaphorically used of men who walk in the darkness of ignorance or of misery. 1126 gregoreuo To watch, to refrain from sleep.  it was transferred in meaning from the physical to the moral religious sphere.  It denotes attention to God's revelation or to the knowledge of salvation; a mindfulness of threatening dangers which, with conscious earnestness and an alert mind, keeps it from all drowsiness and all slackening in the energy of faith and conduct.

Contrasting opposites.

5782 I. 'uwr to be alert, watchful. (1) to wake, to be awake; keeping watch;(2) to awake, arouse from sleep; [3] to arise; [4] to arouse a serpent, and call forth from his hiding place; to excite; to rouse up one's strength; [5] to incite, provoke, stir up. 1128 gumnazo To train naked, as the Greek athletes. Generally to exercise, train. Metaphorically to train in godliness.

1129 gumnasia Exercise of the body by severities such as fasting, abstinence, or watching.

Verbatim overlap of definitions.

5782.6 = 8674 x 2/3 1130 or 11/30, SDA's B-day

The "two-thirds of the way through" point of the Old Testament Lexicon.

5783 II. 'uwr To be naked, to be made naked; nudity. 1130 bumneteuo To be naked with the implied meaning of to be poorly clothed.

Verbatim overlap of definitions.  This connection was the one that spurred the discovering of this segment of paralleling definitions between the Old and New Testament lexicons.  I had noted the personal application of the definition of word 1130 "to be naked" inasmuch as I was born on November 30: 11/30.  Click here to see document I was working on when I made this discovery.

III. 'uwr To dig.

While all the others words in this parallel series have a match, this one is left by itself.

This phenomenon of omission serves the purpose of drawing special attention to the particular point.

In this case, "digging" out the meaning of the scriptures by applying various tools of exegesis is certainly apropos.  In fact it is such "digging" that differentiates the man who builds his foundation on the sand versus the one who -- on the same terrain -- "digs deep" and lays his foundation on a rock. (Luke 6:48.)

5784 'uwr Chaff; dust. 1131 gumnos Naked. Stark naked.

Recognizing our fallen natures, our nothingness, seeing that we are less than the dust of the earth, standing naked before God; is the prerequisite to receiving a new heart and having God's Spirit dwell in us, making us new creatures.

5785 'owr (1) The skin of a man. (2) The hide of animals; leather. 1132 gumnotes Nakedness, destitute of convenient or decent clothing; spiritual nakedness, being destitute of the spiritual clothing of the righteousness which is by faith.

The superficial correlation here is immediately obvious. "Skin of man" matches "nakedness."  "Decent clothing" matches "the hide of animals."

But as a Vegan, I must confess that I see a deeper parody going on in this connection.  Isn't it ironic that following Adam's nakedness in the garden, when cast out of the garden he then make garments of the skin of animals?   Could it be that part of our spiritual nakedness is the paradigm that causes us to think that our life is more precious than that of an animal?

Yes, humans may be further advanced as intelligences, but all are equal in the sight of God, from the simplest creature to the most complex human form, for all have within them the potential to advance until they fully manifest the godly DNA that is within them.

see 5895 'ayir Asses 1133 gunaikarion A foolish woman; one who displays immaturity and a lack of dignity.

Being an "ass" is today's vernacular, is a perfected form of being a "fool."  The scriptures portray the wayward element of the church membership as a whorish, drunken woman.

5788 'ivvarown Blindness. 1134 gunaikeios Female, feminine, womanly.

Bride/female as metaphor for church in relation to Christ, the bridegroom.  The blindness mentioned here calls to mind the "foolish" virgins.

5789 'uwsh To gather together, to assemble selves; to hasten, make haste, accelerate a work. 1135 gune Woman, wife. (III) used of the Church as the Bride of Christ.

There are also wise virgins of the bride/church who gather physically and spiritually into a oneness, both with each other and with Christ, while the foolish perish as the chaff that has now been separated from the wheat.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night....
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God...." (II Peter 3:11-13.)

5791 uwq To be bent, inflected.; to bend, to curve, to pervert right; crooked. 1137 gonia An angle, corner. An outward corner as of a street; a corner of a building in which it has reference only to the spiritual building of God, namely to the church consisting of Jews and Gentiles of which Christ is said to be the head; the headstone or the keystone of the corner which means the upper cornerstone, which not only unites and strengthens the whole building but is also at the very summit of it.  Gonia is also used to refer to an inner corner which indicates a secret or private place, even as we use the expression today for secrecy.

While "bend, curve" and "corner" denote similar literal meanings, the metaphorical connotations of these two words are opposite, the left representing perversity in contrast with fortitude on the right.  It is like the contrast between building one's foundation on sand versus on the rock.

Though the husbandmen reject the stone upon which they might build, it becomes the head stone of their corner.  This is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.

  >Gordon [insertion point]

I have noted in the margin of Zodhiates' NT lexicon that the name Gordon (in reference to President Gordon B. Hinckley) transliterated inserts alphabetically between word gonia (1137) and Dabid (1138) in Greek.  Though Mormons have come to revere their "prophet" to represent God to them, the chief corner stone, the infallible one who will not, could not lead them astray; in actuality he is a usurper for God, who wishes that all might be prophets, having a personal communion with God.

See The Man of Sin Revealed.

5790 'uwth  To hasten to, especially to give help; to succor, to aid, to assist. 1138 Dabid David.

Compare this definition on the left with the very last word definition in Zodhiates' New Testament Lexicon.

5624 ophelimos (from opheleo (5623), to be useful, profitable, advantageous.) Helpful, profitable, useful.

The document "888 and without hands" shows the verbatim link between this last word's synonyms and antonyms and the antonyms and synonyms of word 888.  The number 888 is the sum of the numeric values of the letters that spell Jesus in Greek.

So the definition on the left is connected to Messiah not just because of its link to the last or omega word but also by the link of that word to the name Jesus.

The correlation in the right-hand column to the name David shows that the Davidic Servant ministry is likewise a Messianic one, though the Mormons among whom he ministers considers him a devil.

5793 "whom Jehovah succors." 1139 daimonizomai To be violently possessed by, to be in the power of a demon.

Superficially, the ministering of God versus the ministering of Satan.  Also implicating the indwelling of the Spirit of God versus the indwelling of demons.

Another message to be gleaned from this match-up is the idea that the servants of God, who are laboring in his ministry, are often accused by their enemies of being possessed of the devil, when it is the accusers who are actually the ones employed in that service.

5792 The bending of any one, i.e. his oppression. 1140 daimonion Generally, a god, deity, spoken of the heathen gods; used with the Jewish meaning of a demon, an evil spirit, devil, subject to Satan, implying him to be a fallen angel.
The kingdom of Satan consists of himself as head and an innumerable horde of angels or messengers who do his will.

In addition to the individual being subject to Satan, there is also the phenomenon of entire nations or peoples being placed under his subjection in the form of cruel dictatorships, which deprive freedom.

5794 (1) strong, vehement; (2) fortified; (3) harsh, cruel, hard, of a king; hard of face, i.e. impudent, shameless. 1141 daimoniodes Demon-like. Originally this could be used with a good sense as godlike.

These dictators set themselves up as god to the people -- a "benevolent dictatorship" -- in the vernacular of Karl Marx.  But their smooth rhetoric is translated to a heavy hammer of tyranny when it comes to implementation.

5795 A she-goat 1142 daimon Demon. The Greeks gave the word the same meaning as "god."
5796 Goat 1143 dakno To bite, sting; thwart, vex, irritate.

Goad.  Satan's main work is to hinder the work of God.

5797 (1) strength, might, power; (2) firmness; e.g. a firm, secure, fortified tower; defense, refuge protection; (3) splendour, majesty; (4) glory, praise. 1144 dakru A tear which flows from the eyes; with the meaning of weeping.

A contrast of stations.  Ironically, it is those who come forth with broken heart and contrite spirit -- which most assuredly will include tears -- who God bestows with a new heart and his spirit, establishing them securely on the rock, raising them up.   Meanwhile, for those those who seek the glory and praise of the world and the arm of flesh, there will be weeping and waling and gnashing of teeth.  The high will be made low, and the low made high.

5798 Uzza "strength" 1145 dakruo To shed tears, weep.

ditto.

"Uzza" (5798) is one of the names mentioned in Ezra 2, which brings to mind D&C 85, the setting in order the house of God, in which those who have given themselves to Satan will be removed.

5798 -'!'3 [1] Averter. [2] ...an evil demon inhabiting the wilderness; [3] '3 a goat, and -'! to depart; [4] separations, hence desert places. 1146 daktulios A finger ring given as a mark of honor.
Deriv. (5554), a golden finger ring.

The superficial connection here is the contrast between evil and aversion on the one hand with honor on the other.

On a deeper level, the finger ring signifies a marriage union, which is a metaphor the Lord uses to portray the ideal relationship between his bride and himself.   Meanwhile, the satanic elements that have been within the body are cast out.

5800 (1) To loosen bands, and to let go a beast from its bonds. (2) To leave a person, a place; to desert. (3) to leave off, to cease from anything. 1147 daktulos A finger. The finger of God, refers to the power of God, the Spirit of God.

Word 1147 has strong personal relevance to me inasmuch as it was the dollar amount I paid (after trade-in credit for a ring from a previous failed engagement) for my wife's ring when we got engaged.  So for me, word 1147 is synonymous with matrimony, and the antonym meaning of word 5800 in the Hebrew lexicon is obvious.

In the context of the series of parallel matches here, the metaphorical representation seems to be of the bride/bridegroom marriage on the one hand, and on the other the casting off the bonds of Satan, leaving Babylon behind.

5801 Traffic, commerce; to let go for a price, to commit to another, i.e. to sell; hence (1) fair, market, marketplace; (2) gain made by traffic. 1148 Dalmanoutha Dalmanutha, a city or village near Magdala in Galilee.

Mary Magdalene and Jesus presents a most ironic metaphor for the church-Lord relationship.  The scriptures tell us that she had seven devils cast out of her, and yet judging from the events of the resurrection, she became closer to Jesus than any other of his associates.  It is much like the church today (headquared in Salt Lake City, telephone area code 801) who has so much of satanic influences about her -- especially the trappings of fancy merchandise that Babylon has to offer, but who will be purified of these idolatrous devotions and become the fit bride for the Lord.  See parody on this situation as presented in the write-up on Words around Utah in the English Dictionary.

Magdala represents both Babylon (the great whore) and the Purified Bride.

"For thus saith the Lord, Ye have sold yourselves for nought, and ye shall be redeemed without money." (Isaiah 52:3.)

Schopenhauer
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

-- Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860)
